  1. That's certainly concerning to hear, if it was indeed a deliberate delaying tactic, I hope you can get things resolved
  2. Not to take it off topic, but it's interesting how many folks do gravitate towards watches from the year/era of their birth
  3. It's never nice to see these kind of posts, as it means that something is wrong (on some level) with the person involved, and it's never nice to think of a fellow member being in some kind of difficulty. Here's hoping that everything gets resolved swiftly and amicably
  4. I'm glad you like it, bro It was a very recent arrival (maybe a couple of weeks ago...) but it had to go straight back because of the bracelet failure, which then contributed to the auto-wind assembly self-destructing in the watch, or we would have been happy to have just put a new bracelet on it Emily was really pleased with it, and it really suited her, so was pretty dissappointed when the bracelet failed, but hopefully the replacement will be a bit more durable I really liked it myself, so will probably get one for myself when I have the spare cash, as a 'suit watch' I know the markers aren't quite the right shape, but I felt that the dial replicated the appearance of Rhodium very well (more so to the naked eye than a camera...) and all the markers were properly alligned, so I felt it was a good purchase (until it fell apart )
  5. Another fantastic collection update I miss my PAMs on occasions, but I still have the straps that matter the most
  6. I'd say spend the cash on a vacation or some equally memorable event/treat. At the end of the day, I just don't think a gen is worth that kind of coin, and if you've already got some modded reps (of nicer variants of sub) a gen won't give you anything other than the ability to say 'Yes', if asked if it's real, and a warranty for the RSC, it wouldn't really 'be contributing anything' to the overall range of your collection. Of course, that's just my .2c YMMV
  7. Awesome I'd say I'm Level 3 in terms of the esoteric appreciation, but on something of a shoe-string budget

What did you want done to it?
  9. Indeed, the dial's definitely the key ingredient... Possibly a custom commission required?
  10. Awesome, how do you find they compare to the reps available?
  11. Might it simply be an instance of the case and dial not originally being intended for use together, but the Powers That Be feeling that they were 'close enough' to use? It certainly looks good though Best of luck with sourcing the dial Thinking about it, might MY be a possible source? I wouldn't say I have the best eye for detail, but even a broken watch is right twice a day
  12. Very tasty Is it my imagination, maybe a trick of the light, or is the edge of the rehaut covering the lower half of the word 'Swiss'? That'll certainly be an awesome project, I'll look forward to the progress and finished article
  13. Glad to hear you're pleased with it As P4GTR said: Pics
  14. I'm not sure if you'd seen the pictures, bro, but I treated Emily to one of those (and found myself re-building the movement and sending it back due to bracelet failure) and thought you might like to see what
  15. Indeed, he's a class act for sure
  16. Such an awesome watch, thanks for sharing, bro My cheapie YM wasn't with me long enough, and is possibly the only watch I've owned lately, which I would replace with the same model. They dress up, they dress down, and the 3-D bezel insert is something which can only be appreciated in person
  17. Could that be the 'expanding metal bracelet' Ian Fleming mentioned in OHMSS?
  18. Having seen a watch fitting that description on a billboard in Liberty City in GTA:IV, I know it'll look good
  19. All joking aside, I really like the case/pushers of that watch Stick a Daytona movement/dial assembly in, with a set of Sub hands as the main hands, and a sub bezel insert, and you'd have the kind of bastardized watch I'd be proud to wear
