  1. Oh. My. Gawd! They took the key features of a Panerai and totally ba5tard1zed it. WTF is up with that crown guard??? Why the California-style dial? As much as PAMs aren't really my cup of tea, I can at least appreciate the simplicity and minimalism of models like the 112h, that watch is just nasty
  2. Fair enough, it is indeed your choice. I have a hunch I know who it probably is anyway.
  3. To be honest, it is an awesome watch. It is the first Omega I considered buying as a replacement for my Submariner (which I'd grown sick of), but, before I could buy one, Casino Royale was released, and the Planet Ocean caught my eye instead. Even now, it's the one Omega I haven't bought, as size-wise, it makes me think of the 42mm Planet Ocean. That said, I am thinking about buying the GMT version as a 'holiday watch'... I hope you're happy with your purchase
  4. Go on, name and shame them! I have absolutely no tollerance for online stalkers or online harassment of any kind, and the people who indulge in such behaviour, who follow image urls to raid online hosting like cyber panty-thieves, deserve nothing more than to be identified and held accountable before their peers. [Edit to add] Still wearing the 2900.50.91
  5. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHahahahahahahahahahahahaahah
  6. Yes... Sounds about your level of sophistication... 400 + USD for Asian movements?? You've been looking in the wrong places, amigo... To be honest, my issue has never been with the costs (although I do not approve of price fixing) as I have always been of the opinion that "it costs what it costs". My prime concern, has always been that people have been lied to and manipulated, and sold products and services which were not as described or promised.
  7. Hello, and welcome to the forum Sounds like you got yourself a good watch there. Have you thought about getting a rubber strap for yours? When I first got a Planet Ocean, (42mm version) I had it on the SS Bracelet, and thought it was fine. Once I put it on the rubber strap, however, I found it was so comfortable, I hardly realized I had the watch on, and, after that, couldn't stand to wear the Planet Ocean on an SS Bracelet (although I don't mind wearing the 2531.80/2220.80 SMPs on SS Bracelets) I'd definitley recommend going to an AD to compare them. The Orange bezel insert looks much nicer 'for real' than a photo can capture. There's a somewhat muted quality to the color, it is not garish at all. I was given my orange 42mm as a gift, and, although I don't wear it, and to be honest, would never have thought to order (from only seeing the pictures) once I got it, it really grew on me, and it is a very nice watch. Personally, I prefer the black bezel insert/white numbers combination, but some of that is because that was the first Planet Ocean variant I saw (via Casino Royale), so in my mind, that's how the watch should look. Had I saw the pumpkin numbered variant first, then my opinion would likely be reversed. In terms of size, I would definitely recommend the 45mm over the 42mm. They can seem huge, but, when worn on the wrist, really are not so bad. Best of luck with your purchase
  8. The Seamaster strap Joshua sells is accurate as a Seamaster strap, it is not, however, accurate to what should be on a Planet Ocean. If you have a look on Ofrei, the differences are pretty noticeable. Even the crappiest watch can look nice when put on a nice strap, so my advice would be to spend the extra $$$s and get the genuine Planet Ocean strap (20mm) If you're modifying the watch so it appears genuine, someone would notice the incorrect strap way before they notice a pearl or the hands... Best of luck with the project
  9. That's cool, but, as Richard Tracy pointed out, this is an issue where people need to look beyond their own good deals, and see the overall picture. So lots of people are happy with A&J, that's cool, but, that doesn't mean that the examples of people who have been screwed over didn't occur... PS, Impeccable doesn't have a K in it
  10. Bizarre. Slay's has been like that a while. I guess he didn't want to just shorten it as I chose to
  11. We were PMd by Admin as there had been complaints about the size of the signatures I shrunk it down a bit Which one would that be? I haven't done anything to alter my signature, so if it's suddenly changed from the shortened version of Slay's original message, that would mean someone is changing my settings...
  12. This has nothing to do with 'forgetting' that they are rep watches whatsoever. Calling a CN made $200 watch a Rolex is not unethical, as long as it is not being advertized and sold as being genuine. If anyone seriously thinks that they are getting a genuine watch at a knock-down price, then they are either seriously misinformed, plain lying to themselves, or both. People know they are buying replicas, but they expect to receive what they actually pay for. The issue here, as illustrated by posts like Predfan's, is that people are paying for a product and getting something different to what they ordered, or, paying for a service (ie waterproofing) and it simply not being done. It doesn't matter what the product is being sold, and if it is genuine, replica or whatever, what matters, is that people are offering X, sending Y, and anyone who complains about that, is being 'swept under the carpet', and criticized by the dealer's shills. Given that this forum exists to protect BUYERS, not DEALERS, that is why people are finding it an unacceptable situation.
  13. I'm still wearing the 2900.50.91 Planet Ocean
  14. Welcome back, I hope you had a good vacation I might have to save up and get you to re-lume my Omegas for me, as sentimental value means I'll be hanging onto them for as long as possible
  15. With regards pumpkin or white numbers, that's not really something you can be advised on, it's simply a matter of personal taste. I would say that the white numbers are definitely more popular, (and as featured in Casino Royale) but that doesn't necessarily make them better. At the end of the day, it's just a case of which you feel looks nicer Something which the pumpkin numbers does have, is if it's put with a strap with pumpkin stitching, it looks awesome. White numerals with white stitching doesn't have the same impact. That said, I have the Planet Ocean with white numbers and wear it on the rubber strap, as in Casino Royale.
  16. I really wish people would stop using the term UPO when they talk about the Planet Ocean 45mm. The Ultimate Planet Ocean is just one (of many) versions of the 45mm available, and only sold by select dealers. If you've just watched Casino Royale and think you want Bond's watch, you don't want a 'UPO', you want a 45mm Planet Ocean! *rant over*
  17. I set my watch by a radio signal-controlled wall clock in the study.
  18. If you've been given their name by someone you trust, then go for it. For all the comments about the 'aftersales service of the favored dealers', there are some unignorable instances where those 'favored dealers' have not really met expectations with either their product or service, and, dealers who are considered as 'unknowns' here, can still provide excellent products and services. Personally, I say go for it. If the watch is a lemon, we know another dealer to avoid. If it comes up good, then we have a new (and cheaper source) so information well worth it. Don't let 'anonymous' recommendations for other dealers put you off the source you were given by a relative. Best of luck with the purchase
  19. Indeed. Send it back, and ask for a refund
  20. I'd suggest a white Chanel J12, or, possibly an Omega Constellation of some sort. Congratulations on the wedding. Mazal Tov!
  21. I'm debating wether I should wear 'The Patient', a 'skeleton' Sub ( ) Or just stick with my 45 Planet Ocean
  22. You're welcome It's funny, that although yours is a more 'visually accurate' watch, Emily's actually has more 'functionality' to it... As for the datewheel, indeed, hers doesn't have it, but, personally, I think that is actually an improvement on the design, as aesthetically, I feel the datewheels look like a 'design afterthought', and look 'jammed in at the last minute'. I don't know why I have that feeling, but that's how it strikes me That's the one. He is, to use a phrase used by the lovely Hayden Panettiere in Heroes, purely a 'bio parent', and has no right at all to call himself her 'father'. He's also a compulsive liar. One time, he said that he had quite a collection of Rolexes which had been left to him by some customer (why would a customer leave a collection worth tens of thousands of pounds to a market trader who swaps batteries and straps? I've also never seen this fabled collection) and yesterday, when I said about modifying the Aqua Terra for my dad, he made some comment about having built a watch once, but would never want to do it again. (Personally, I find that a somewhat addictive passtime) but at the end of the day, why would someone with (supposedly ) a collection of Rolexes, and who can build a watch from scratch, only ever wear a
  23. Well, both Andrew and Joshua have the same suppliers, so they have the same stock. I recently bought a Vacheron Constantine Overseas on a sales site which was identical to the watch Joshua was selling, except his had an ETA movement, the one I bought had an Asian movement. The watches themself, were exactly the same, they just had different movements in them, and the one I bought was half the price of the one Joshua was selling. All I was really trying to say was it won't matter which of them you buy from, as you will wind up with the same product, the only difference possibly being the price, or, if they have had a 'new batch' of stock in. That's something else you should be aware of. Andrew and Josh have a habit of using pictures of old stock for their advertising, even if the new stock coming through has minor differences, so don't be surprized if what you get, is not 100% like what you ordered. Personally, I wouldn't buy anything from either Andrew or Joshua, but if you want to, that's your choice. Best of luck
  24. Andrew and Joshua both use the same supplier. It doesn't matter which you buy from, you will wind up getting the exact same watch.
