    Hahahaha

Ok ok, the v7 then ;)

    Waiting for mr TJ!

That's not for diving... It's the prototype for NASA astronauts to wear over their suits while performing EVA inside gas giants :victory:

  2. I'm only gonna keep one of them and the other goes up for grabs...

Sounds like a good plan, I'll be interested to see which you prefer :) I like the grey dial simply because it is similar to the 7032. If it wasn't for that other dial(and color wasn't an option) then I probably would like the black dial :good:

I ordered mine the other day, how long is shipping from WE? I haven't ordered anything from them in 2 years.

    Regards,

    Joe

It's been about 2 years since I ordered from them as well, so I'm afraid I can't help you there :pardon: I hope you get your watch quickly :)

  3. Just to confirm that I am reading this correctly...this 'highly praised' watch is available via WATCH EDEN...(?).

This particular watch was not from WatchEden, but yes, WatchEden now stock it. I would recommend them to anyone as a fine dealer :good: And as for 'highly praised', I can only say that this is a watch which fits my needs, and is good for me. If you don't like big watches, or quartz movements, it might not be the best watch for you ;)

Well, T, I have just ordered the black and grey versions. Hopefully will be here in a couple of weeks...

Excellent :good::drinks: From the pics I've seen, if you wanted to vary the look of them, I'd suggest keeping the black dial on the bracelet, and putting the grey dial on a NATO strap :) I do like how the watch looked on the bracelet, but with the bracelet being very difficult to replace (ie needs thinner spring bars to be safely re-mounted) and with summer approaching, it made more sense to keep it on a NATO strap for the time being :)

  4. Great Teejay. I'll be picking up one of these!

I know how you like your chronos, bro, and I don't think this one will disappoint either :drinks: Something I neglected to mention in the review, is that overall, it's possible to time three separate things simultaneously :Jumpy: Item 1 by using the regular hands and dial, Item 2 by using the position of the minute hand and rotating the bezel to give a countdown, and Item 3, using the stopwatch function :victory: An absolute lifesaver when preparing a meal with complex timings  Also, as mentioned in the review, the watch has an amazing wrist presence, wether on the bracelet or on NATO :good:

  5. What do you guys use to build that texture? I have matt clear spray but it doesnt look chunky like this one. This is the exact dial look I want to achieve on my 6538 project.

    dizz

A technique I've read about (but not tried myself) is to apply a coat of matte varnish, and then blot it with a piece of kitchen roll to get that texture :)

  6. Is there a rep of Heritage, other than the quartz one on another thread?

Not yet.. Will the factories shell out to re-work the rep to include a mechanical movement? I really wouldn't like to say :shutup2: To be fair, the quartz one is a really nice wear, and the movement really shouldn't be an issue with regards purchase, as the rep Heritage has plenty of other tells which would give it away long before the subject of the movement is raised :whistling:

  7. First of all, fantastic pictures :good::victory:

I'd like to make a few points in defense of the Heritage:

Cyclops: Does it need one? :pardon: For the most part, I've found cyclops' are only really helpful if looking at the watch directly face on, and that when simply glancing at the watch on the wrist, they tend to obscure the datewindow, so when there's not a cyclops, the vision is not obscured...

Knurling: Obviously a matter of personal preference, and to each his own :good: I didn't think I would initially take to the knurling, but I do actualy quite like it. My one criticism of the knurling, is that when the watch is wet, the knurling does not provide any purchase for rotating the bezel, and the fingers just slip.

Wide bracelet links: The 22mm bracelet means that the lugs can stay relatively thin, compared to the bracelet/lug arrangement of the DSSD, so overall, makes for a more balanced whole :) I don't really think that the width of the mid-links is an issue, just that it's a bit of a break from the norm compared to other Rolex bracelets, and of course, it takes time to adapt to change :)

    On the other hand...

I quite agree about the crown of the gen, it strikes me as 'a bit fussy' and unnecessary. I am also very aware that the bezel on the 7032 is much more streamlined than the bezel on the Heritage. I think on a smaller watch, the bezel would be overpowering, but I think because of the case size, it isn't so out of place. Also, while writing, I've just realized that the knurling acts to 'lower' the height of the bezel, where if the edges were coin edged, it would definitely appear thicker (and probably look too thick)

K, as you've owned them both, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts comparing the 7032 and the Heritage :drinks:

  8. I'm kicking it off with this one. Same watch all week, and absolutely loving it. Really liking the casual feeling of the NATO strap, but last night, I decided to bring the strap closer to gen THC NATO by removing the 'back strap'. It's surprising what difference a small change can make :victory:
