  1. Isn't everyone looking for the best sub out of box with little to no work involved? Reps have flaws, period. Find out which flaws you're willing to live with and mod what you don't like.... There are literally hundreds of threads discussing this.
  2. +1. I hear they make some of the best dials the world has ever known.
  3. That looks real nice. Makes me want my build to be done! Wear it well
  4. Bravo... That's a hell of an undertaking. Keep up the good work.
  5. I also just found out that different BP sub bracelets have very different SEL fitments. Tried switching bracelets between two BPs. Hmm...
  6. So I just got it in the mail. I clearly misread the bay sales ad. It's hollow midlink but the midlinks are gold. The end links are also two piece and not solid end links. From where I stand I am prolly going to return the bracelet and use the wrapped bracelet pictured above. It looks identical in terms of gold look and feel. Very good value
  7. That crystal looks very good, IMHO. I wear the watch you sold me in great health! One of my best buys
  8. You're still building great watches I see. I am actually wearing the 16610 you sold me a few weeks ago. Ha
  9. Forum member. I believe on RG. He had it for 3-4 years and had service done last year to the movement. I've been wearing it the past month and its kept excellent time. Date switches over +/- 3 minutes. It's specific origins is unknown to me and he was also unsure of where he bought it
  10. You started it! You got my head thinking when you posted your TT build, haha. I have seen gen dials on sale for about $1000-$2000... Lol No thanks. Maybe $400-$800 but north of 1k is crazy talk. IMHO
  11. In short... a lot. This build is not for the faint of heart. Here is a overview of my build list. TT GMT IIc Build List Parts Required X BP TT GMT IIc (x2) X CHS GMT Movement X Gen 18k Gold Bezel X Gen Ceramic Gold Insert X Bezel Assembly X Rep TT 18k Clasp X Gen AR Crystal X BK DWO X Gen 18k Gold Crown X TC Tube X WSO TT 18k Gold Bracelet (solid gold midlinks) Labor Required Superlume Movement Service Assembly I tried to get a gen dial but the one I saw for sale... Well lets just say I'd need to take out a small loan to afford. The BP dial is not that bad. I may try and source the hour markers if I can. What I'm most disappointed in is the BP clasp. If anyone has any suggestions or alternatives I'm all ears. The BP just doesn't feel of quality. IMHO
  12. Dude you are on a roll. Another sick build. Is there a 3rd on its way? Ha
  13. Straight to the point. Ha. Yeah I ended up buying a gen 18k crown. Might as well.
  14. I also want to note that I ordered a 18k gold solid mid link bracelet and will also be posting pictures of that later this week when it arrives. Its "gen" construction so I hope it fits the BP lugs. Let me know if you have any questions on the two parts pictured.
  15. As the title states... quick and dirty pictures of the 14k gold wrapped bracelet TrustTime offers on his ROLGMT092 (maybe others?). I also took some teaser shots of my gen GMT Iic gold bezel/insert compared against a the BP. More details surrounding my build to follow. More importantly pictures below. I rate the quality of the SEL "gold" as a 7.5/10. At a macro level its almost obvious its painted or something not really platted. But from the wrist it looks very very very convincing. Way better then the current bare steel offerings most are wearing, no offense! This GMT that Andrew sells is a BP Factory, I have confirmed this by taking apart the bezel assembly and found gen construction. What was odd was that this "newer" BP had a light AR coating on the cyclops but not the alphanumeric serial engraved on the rehaut. Its an M serial. Again like I said I will review the various BP watches I have for my build. Taking the best out of all of them! Mid links are covered in "gold" as well, very nice. Gen insert on top, if it wasn't obvious enough. Ha You can see how much deeper the engravings on the gen are... Anyways, thats all for now. I hope that helps shed some light into a new option for those TT builds everyone is craving.
  16. Not to thread jack... its all in good TT fun! My current parts list is as follows: BP TT GMT IIc (x2 using the best parts of two BP TT GMTs for the build; clasp, rehaut engravings, case) unknown origin GMT IIc CHS (this watch has been running for 3-4 years with no issues) Gen 18k Gold Bezel Gen Gold Insert Gen GMT IIc Bezel Assembly Gen 18k Crown w/ TC Tube Gen AR Crystal WSO 18k Solid Gold Midlink Bracelet 14k Gold Wrapped Bracelet (off a TrustyTime #ROLGMT092, but this is most likely going to a 16613 build) I'll have the dial and hands relumed to match each other, BPs lume has a slight difference. I almost snagged a gen dial but the owner wanted a crazy sum for it, BPs dial will do for now. I will also be posting a thread showing some additional pictures of the TrustyTime 14k wrapped bracelet. In summary I give it a 7.5/10 in terms of look. Obviously lacks the weight of real gold. I will also start a thread in regards to this build. Sorry for the thread jack!
  17. Very nice! Seems like there are a few of us building some TT watches. I just finish sourcing my parts to build a TT GMT IIc. Great build!
  18. As you can tell I know nothing about Daytona, lol. Thanks for the correction!
  19. I tend to only desire poorly replicated rolex watches... I understand the search function on the forums may be down but in the first 3-5 pages in the rolex sub forum contain threads discussing the seadweller. Try doing a bit of research so you can understand the different options. Welcome to the forums. It's an addition waiting to happen, lol
  20. TRF just posted a nice white dial 11623. Just an FYI for anyone looking to build.
  21. I would not worry about +/- 5 mins with the date change. Even some gens have a minute or two variance.
  22. Isn't the admin who works on that stuff on vacation or something? Thought I read that somewhere.
  23. I have a TT GMT with the alleged wrapped bracelet mid links on order and being shipped. I will report back my findings. If possible I'd wait until then. I'll post much better pictures then what the TDs provide. If you can't wait I'd order from sead1999 aka super mirrors. He is a TD on the boards. He sells BP Factory rolexs. I also have one on order and will compare it against the trusty watch
  24. I'll say it is a nice build. I guess that 10% is what separates us from the "upper echelon", lol.
  25. No worries! So a TC tube will take a gen spec 18k gold crown? If that is the case I'll just order one for the tt build.
