I have read about a few GMT II builds and one GMT IIc build. Not a lot of details surrounding what were the starting points for the build. I've PMd a few of the owners but no response. So I turn to the forums as a whole. Does anyone have any experience with the Ultimate GMT IIc TT that Andrew (TrustyTime) sells? www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_5&products_id=9542 ROLGMT084 - SS/YG 2008 GMT TT Black Swiss 2836 $368.00 Upgraded to Superlume!!! Ultimate Supreme Version!!! This is made with reference to the Genuine SS GMT Watch..... External Dimension is 1 : 1 as per the Genuine.. All external Parts are Interchangeable with Genuine... More specifically does anyone have any experience with "stated" 1 :1 cases. Do these in fact take gen parts? Or even when stated 1:1 serious modifications are required or just plain don't fit.

Does Anyone actually prefer 116610 over 16610?
ceocorona replied to By-Tor's topic in The Rolex Area
Very different watches for two different audiences. I agree that the classic sub should live on to satisfy those looking for the timeless classic that the 16610 is. -
I spent some time at a Rolex AD on my recent trip to Vegas. I was able to compare the rep with several gen YMs, with different dials etc. I can now say the BK YM is a very good rep of the real gen. Yeah sure te gen have the infamous gen luster but at 1/6th the cost the BK YM does a helluva job at replicating the overall look and feel. Only thing its missing is a gen crystal(purchased) and superlume(shipping to PBDad). What I may also add is a Daytona/GMTiic polished clasp. I have seen a few over on TRF do this to replace the "cheap" YM clasp. It's a great mod and worth looking into. I am now comfortable modding the YM.

I just saw one of these at an AD and wow... the rep and gen are almost identical. I mean the gen does that that Rolex luster which IMO cannot be rep'd but for the price of a rep... BK does great work.

I visited a local AD to check out the new gen blue YM dial... While I have not seen the blue dial YM rep in person, from the pictures it looks to have a darker hue. The gen really shines and reflects light. What I would be really interested in seeing rep'd would be the black YM dial, now that would be a real looker. Should be fairly easy to rep?

"Search" is your friend... There is also a list of trusted dealers and reviews on the main forum page.

I'm in Vegas on vacation this week and stopped by a few ADs for Breitling... I can't get over how underrated this brand is. Gorgeous time pieces

My 16520 Patrizzi Daytona for a gen GMTIIC? Would you do it?
ceocorona replied to concepta's topic in The Rolex Area
A gen is a gen... That luster cannot be replicated regardless of how many gen parts in a rep build. But... I'm biased because I love the "all too common" GMT. You can't lose, it's a win win no matter what you decide to wear. -
GEN Rolex GMT Master II ceramic vs noob rep

Wish we had more options when trying to build a superfranken GMT... And btw great review and comparison. You only reminded me how I want a GMT haha -

One of the few vintage watches that has caught my attention. Great build -
How's the white SOSF dial compared to the gen?
ceocorona replied to david.the.marvelous's topic in The Breitling Area
It would be a real find to buy a v1 then... I had not seen one until now. Learn something new! -
yup same here... i actually had a friendwho lived in cali deposite the cash in his account. No citi banks where I live. And thats with my "3" feedback. Oh well, its his business his rules. I was annoyed at first but understand. and... mine is now on the build list!

As someone mentioned they are a prototype. And it's my understanding that the cost to manufacture these is substantially higher. I think it's still unknown if these will be mass produced

That's true. He is strict when it comes to new members. With good reason. Do a search and you'll read horror stories of idiots going crazy on the TDs. Give him time to reply. He is a busy man. He will reply to your email. :-)

In my opinion TC subs with a few mods cab look and feel as good as the gen for 1/5th the price. I own 2 of them. Anything else isn't even in the same ballpark.

That's actually one of the best rep dials I've seen. This purchased from Andrew? -
Wow... I wish I had the wrists that could handle the Pams... Your collection has made me envious.

What they said.. Middle one hands down.

Yeah.. I am building a Fraken Virginia Class sub. I am using a steam engine to cut costs though. I cant afford that gen "movement". Ha

So the white dial rep is one of my favorite out-of-the-box reps. With that said... the white dial is nothing like the genuine dial. The rep is a very white and the gen dial has a off-white cream color. So in terms of colors its way off. The rep as a whole is pretty good. I wanted the white dial but ended up with the black dial ETA. It has the best color match to gen, its black.... who can eff that up? Ha. Check out the 'bay and compare dial colors to the rep. Easy to spot. Hope that helps -
I keep checking back to look at this clasp... its just awesome.

The "Search" button is your friend... If that's too much try google and you'll be directed to various rep forums with tons of threads discussing this. I'll never understand why people are afraid to search... Heck I'm new to this hobby and I've managed to do just fine doing some detective work.

All I can say is wow.... I saw a post or two talking about a v4 but had not see a picture until now. I just asked TC if these would be included in the new batch of builds. Will follow-up when I get a response from him.

Haha I was thinking the same thing. Instead of terms and conditions it should be that series of pictures.
