Have some personal experience dealing with an Italy seller. Lets just say its best to avoid them. Luckily the loss I took was minimal. Check TRF for some crystal sales. Although they do charge a slight premium there.
Movements should always be serviced anyways. If you can wait, I'd see how the new BP Sub-C looks and feels in person. Looks like Toro has some instock and ready for sale. Can't be too much longer before they get some reviews out there.
I'll see if I can find some old pics. I send it off for superlume.
So I think they are very close in look and feel. The only thing that TC has over the BK is the superlume dial. I just sent my YM for superlume. The stock dial had a very poor lume. Other then that I like the BK dial over the TC. But I'm biased having bought BKs, lol. It was my first rep so I didn't do much shopping around and compare the two.
I do know that buying from TC can be challenging for forum members with no sales feedback. He requires different methods. Other then that both guys are fantastic with taking care of you.
I have a BK YM recently purchased from him. Not sure of the source but this watch is spot on. I also swapped out the "stock" clasp and installed a Daytona clasp and wow. Adds great look and field. This is a mod the gen guys do and I can see why.
Just go for a BK DSSD. I have worked with BK on several deals and not only are the pieces he sells of higher quality but the level of service you receive makes the extra $$$ well worth it. Call it peace of mind.
The lume application also looks very sloppy. I would also ask for QC pictures on the clasp as Breitling reps are know to have poor clasp construction.
If it doesn't work out I have one of these for sale! H-Factory BEST, Black dial, Swiss ETA in very good condition. Its posted in the for sale section on the forums. You should check it out Haha.
Hello my name is Jonathan and I am a Watch-a-Holic...
Seriously though the quest to build a great Franken is as much the story to build one as it is the "peace of mind". This is a fun hobby where perfectionists strive to build the best. As someone said earlier 95% of the people on the streets will not be able to see the "rep defects" we obsesse over, lol. We are more critical of ourselves then anyone we may encounter.
So whose logging to notice? You will. Build/buy what you can afford and live with! Viva la reps lol
