  1. I would have never thought about that. Well I have been (well started to shop used ten gmts) but I never considered a "bad" case. But you are very right. I can have it fixed up with minimal costs... This thread has really provided some great advice on this build. Puzzle is starting to come together! The 1655 is nice and you have a very valid point but I am really after that pepsi look. So I was trying to add a pepsi and vintage watch into one piece. I am considering the route of the new explorer II case for a modest build. I have less then zero patience, lol. Thanks again guys
  2. Gen crystal clarity is much better then any rep crystal. The gen crystal also has a small crown etched into the class at the 6', hard to see without loupe. Crystal part number would be either 25-295, 25-295C and the 25-295C2.
  3. I wouldn't... A TC Type II with a gen LN insert will run you apprx 600-700. What you should do is post pics of that breitling! Lol
  4. Blast from the past. How did this build end up?
  5. It's like you we're reading my mind... This is exactly where I am at. My rep rule of thumb is to stay at or below 1/3 of the actual gen watch. Some exceptions of course but having that in mind keeps me from making huge investments into a single rep watch. That was a very good analysis, thanks for taking the time.
  6. Wow you're not kidding... I was expecting like 500-1000... north of that? Intense
  7. Someone mentioned phong case? This viable? Or the cartel 1655 with heavy case shaving. Where is the phong sourced?
  8. Thank you. You're right... I forgot about that detail. Hmmm
  9. Doesn't the 16760 "Fat Lady" have the thicker case? Could one of the reps not pass as one of these GMTs?
  10. Tease......... Haha. Any details on the watch? Great backdrop to that picture!
  11. So the ichs doesn't bother me too much given that it's not completely evident throughout most of the day. Yeah I'm thinking gen since they aren't terribly expensive. I've considered this or a TT.
  12. Well besides ton of sugar, corn syrup, and some carbonation... Lol. Ok so I've been doing quite a bit of reading regarding franken 16710, 16760, or other early 90s to 2007 gmt master II. So we have some bk transformers, new explorer II, Noob factory gmt, etc. Do we have any good bare cases? It needs to accept all gen parts. Any good leads? Seems as if the good Pepsi base watches are extinct. I am not looking for a cheap franken but a great franken. Suggestions? Or maybe someone is selling? Ha
  13. I am nervous for you, haha. These would make some nice desktop backgrounds!
  14. If its from the BP factory Sead should be able to source one and that way you are still supporting a forum TD. Just a thought. The blue YM is gorgeous in person. Tempted to add one to my collection.
  15. Those are spectacular shots. Brave man for taking the watch apart.
  16. These are very attractive pieces. Wish they had some smaller sizes though
  17. Nice! What did you pick up? I just bought a new macro lens for the iPhone too.
  18. YM should have solid midlinks adding some additional heft over the standard sub.
  19. Gen weighs apprx 146g. My original BK YM weighed 139g. My new BK WM9 YM weighs 143g. Could be a scale error? Either way hand feel is not noticed. I have handled the gen and my rep one after another.
  20. Great review. I just finished collecting my top 5 rolex's and soon to be moving into Omega and Breitling territory! Nice to see whats out there. So many old reviews out there. Thanks for taking the time.
  21. That is some detailed un-wrapping process. I have not received my new TC yet. Should be in shortly!
