Hmm... And I take it you've done this installation yourself before? I appreciate you taking the time to post. You've sparked my interest again in the sa3135...
I'm going to email him and ask.
I'll also help keep an eye out for TC subs posted for sale. They are coming out more often right now due to TC building and shipping tons of new orders.
Your BK LN dial should fit in a TC case with no issue. TC case can be bought directly from TC. $250 includes everything you'll need to house the movment and gen parts. I mean you'll be left with spare BK and TC parts. Essentially building a TC sub with BK dial and gen parts. If you don't have a crystal I know wiseguy has a thread in the parts section with a parts "feeler" thread.

First off let me say wow. You have a heck of a superfranken there...
So the TC is as close to gen as it gets. Both TC and Sean cases accept gen movement with no modification. A bare TC case will run you apprx $200. Crown high on the BK is lower then the gen (TC/Sean). Google TC submariners and on his site he has a few blogs regarding the case and its ability to accept gen parts.
Must be nice to have the gen movement. Makes life easier. I am trying to source one or a y3135 to avoid clipping a gen 16613 dial. I'd also like to use the gen hands. Such is life
Without having more insight into the origins of the case this will be a trial and error. Clark crystal isn't too expensive. I'd definitely start there. If the crystal opening requires a unique size you may be in a predicament...
I would do one of two things...
1) Sell the BK watch assuming its all rep this should be a huge loss in what you paid for it.
2) Buy a TC case and transplant all your BK pieces to the new case. Although there might be some parts that may be challenging to fit.
I personally would go for option 1 and you'll be able to recoup some cash from the sale and pick up a 2nd hand TC fairly easy. It's the less problematic route. How important is hollow links is the question...
Swap in the WSO bezel, if you see a noticeable difference. You may also need a WSO crystal retaining ring to match with the bezel. I'm curious to see if the WSO two piece end link will mate with the case. You could still produce a very accurate 16613 and have a real bracelet.
Edit: I see you said you have the bezel assembly. Ignore my comment regarding that.
I alerted the admin on TRF about a rep trying to be passed as a gen. I honestly think our rep forums know more about gens then most of the gen population. Lol
So I know Angus claims the SA3135 accepts gen hands but all the research I've done has lead me to believe it doesn't. I know the movement will accept a gen dial with no modifications.
Do we have any members who have or know of someone who has installed gen hands on this movement? I really want to avoid clipping the feet of a NOS gen 16613 dial.
Maybe someone reading has a yuki 3135 or another movement that will work for sale?
What are your thoughts?
Depends how picky you are and if you want gen like dimensions. You can get a $200 TT or build and spend upwards of $4k to build a SuperFranken.
Define and your wants and establish a bulk budget. Plan the build out (ie. forum research) and come up with a build blue print. I cannot stress enough the planning. It'll save you tons of headaches in the future.
Well 89 for one movement I'll still need the other eta to build the slow beat. Now I wonder if I should have gone the route of Swiss eta vs the DG... Lol.
Go take a peek at a GMTc 116710 that's being sold "cheap" on TRF. I could easily spot 15-17 rep tell signs. I won't even talk about the clearly photoshopped service papers....
I've seen toro post and interact more then most and Sead answers emails almost instantly. I can't complain there. I guess we just want insight especially with the new models and such. Whatever information that can be shared. Being interactive could only help grow business. Although you might get more newb PMs lol
That's exactly what I'm building. A 1675 Cornino (PCG). So I wonder if that silver DW that's being sold on these forums would work with that movement. Or is a white DW more gen accurate?
I like the fact that you brought up. A $30 DWO on a $25 movement. Haha I never thought about that. Well I bought it and will see how far I get. Worse case I just lose some and sell it to someone who can put it to use.
I have an old TW case that's been thinned and shaved. Ill post some pictures up later tonight. I ordered the DG and matching hands. Hoping for the best! Ha
