  1. It is very possible that this is the same one, it would be funny if we sold watches and it had a log book ha. I do not know of very many WM9 YMs franken'd to this level. Its a gorgeous watch with the modifications mentioned. I can't see myself bothering to source a gen bezel assembly and insert, the cost to value ratio for me isn't there. As it stands its perfect IMO.
  2. No back door selling here. This part is posted in the parts section of the forum
  3. I don't think anyone could spot this unless they were told to determine its authenticity. Even then not having it hand it's difficult to see the tell signs. This watch IMO can pass a casual wrist check by almost anyone.
  4. Yeah that's tough... One without the other is no bueno. For now I prolly won't split them unless the offer is close to what I want for both. PM if you're interested.
  5. That's true. I should have suggested that seeing as I'm from Florida. Ha
  6. You're welcome buddy. I really enjoy the classy yet sporty look of the entire watch. This is a watch that attracts the casual watch enthusiast. In my personal opinion you have the most important part to any successful YM build and that's the dial. No rep dial comes close! Next is the need for gen hands or having the lume match the dial. Here is my YM build... -Bk WM9 YM -Swiss ETA 2824 -GEN dial -GEN crystal -GEN crown and tube -BK DWO -WM9 hands superlume by PBdad to match gen dial WSO sells a white gold bezel insert.. I've had my eye on it for a while. I wonder if it'll have more "character" then the stock insert. I have a gen bezel assembly (crystal retaining ring and bezel). Wonder if the bezel can be polished to look like a YM part? Edit: To continue on what wiseguy said; going gen movement almost immediately brings you into gen price territory. I'm starting to dig these clone 3135 movements.
  7. I agree... better safe then out a few thousand dollars.
  8. You just cannot beat the classiness of this watch... Something about that blue/gold/sunburst dial. Mine is waiting for me at home just waiting to be unboxed!
  9. After 1/3 it is a slippery slop down into a deep pit... Once you get past that threshold IMO you almost feel obligated to continue...
  10. Source a gen bezel assembly and problem solved? I think I saw one for sale on the parts forum?
  11. Wow is right. That watch could be use as a weapon if needed! I am diggin the "insert" though. Is that ceramic or metal?
  12. Should we add half steps between those? Maybe to highlight parts that are on hand but not installed? Haha, I kid. It would be kind of nice to have a Franken Richter Scale to measure the intensity of the frankens posted in the sales forum.
  13. I should have clarified... "It's a work of art sitting in my glass watch box" at night. Haha, those two last words make all the difference! Thanks for the correction
  14. Sorry I've been tied up with work. I wish this was a gen! Lol its just a franken rep unfortunately. I definitely want to post a proper build thread to help others who want to pursue this build. For now I'll share my parts list. In short... a lot. This build is not for the faint of heart. Here is a overview of my build list. TT GMT IIc Build List Parts Required X BP TT GMT IIc X Gen 18k Gold Bezel X Gen Ceramic Gold Insert X Gen Bezel Assembly X Rep Noob TT 18k Clasp X Gen AR Crystal X Gen 18k Gold Crown X TC Tube (Gen tube was used in this build) Labor Required PBDad Superlume (match dial and hands) PBDad Assembly Movement Service Plan, plan, plan... That's key to any great build. And don't forget to set a budget! It's so easy to get out of control and stop the build because you ran out of money or end up with build costs which approach the gen price. My rule is to never exceed 1/3 the cost of a gen on any build. Having that in mind helps me in the planning stages if I see a build get too expensive.. This build ran me about $3K, give or take a few hundred. Not cheap but neither is the actual gen at about $9K on average. Overall very happy with the outcome. It's a work of art sitting in my glass watch box.
  15. Thats an interested find. I also see an SSG, maybe a future forum name ha.
  16. I have a collection of RARE super-ultra-ultimate-fantastic-supreme franken watches. If you all want a lesson on how to build some RARE super-ultra-ultimate-fantastic-supreme franken watches I can coordinate with a local arts and crafts store in your area and teach. Please just understand that you will need to bring your own craftsman tool kit as these will not be provided during the learning workshops. Coming to a town near you... 1-800-GEN-WATCH (ext. BUILDS)
  17. Yeah the WSO 18k bracelet for example will run you just north of $900 and this is for a two piece endlink.
  18. Sean case but that's good money. You could maybe use the TC case with some case work. Not sure what tt bracelet options are available for that case. I'm sure he understand the budget required for a nice TT. I'd stick to the Sean case, IMO.
  19. Not to my knowledge. It'll require some extensive modifications to accommodate gen parts. Someone correct me otherwise.
  20. Yup... Sold out for the foreseeable future... It's a shame Yeah if anyone wants to sell one me and Clem could fight it out on this public forum until one of us gave up... Or flip a coin... I call heads haha
  21. Really digging the background and of course the watch is awesome! RA does impeccable work. Wear it well!
  22. Seriously? Let this thread die. MD is taking care of his business. Move on with your life.
  23. Hmm... So if it worked in your 1:1 case it should theoretically work in my Sean case. I may take the plunge. I am also interested to see if iRolexUs experiment on attaching gen hands will work. If so I'm sold on the SA as an alternative to gen/yuki.
  24. Yeah wiseguy picked up a stellar TT. Should go well with your superfranken collection
