  1. any word if PT can get these in the UK? Fed up buying from abroad. Thanks.
  2. Scary stuff. I've had no problems in UK getting EMS parcels from Asia thus far thankfully, but is only a matter of time before this happens here too. UK ordering only for me from now on!
  3. Even I know that is a pile of We're lucky to have guys like ZZ look after our beloved pieces properly!
  4. Not sure about the Deepsea, but that Daytona works for me!
  5. Seriously!?! I hadn't heard this - that is excellent news!
  6. +1! I need a decent one of these to come out soon.
  7. This high google rating is scary IMO. Surely that's like standing on a battlefield with a big sign saying "shoot me!" I don't know much about the ins and outs, but how safe is this website from being taken down? And is there no way we can go below the radar/more stealthy? Surely the big companies would happily throw a few thousand $
  8. Noob question from a non-noob. What does WIS mean??!!
  9. Interesting that Movado is big in the States - all but unheard of in UK I would say.
  10. All black is growing on me - the rest - neh - not convinced. The Deep Two in particular - makes the Deep Sea look refined and understated. Tacky IMHO.
  11. Very excited that a decent version of this appears to be on the cards. Roll on March!
  12. Love the watch and love the bracelet. One thing though - how do you get at the pins that can micro-adjust the size? I see there are 2 notches for the pin to go in - mine is in the tighter hole and I'd like it in the looser hole (no cheeky comments!) Can't see any way of getting near the pins. By-Tor raised this as an issue in this sticky review above, but I haven't heard anyone come up with a solution!
  13. seriously - I wouldn't bin it. Google some decent camera websites, but usually they are salvagable. I'm a keen landscape photographer and cameras getting rained on/dropped in rivers etc is fairly common. Set it on a folded towel on top of a radiator with all battery covers/doors etc open and leave it for a long time - like a few weeks. You might be lucky. Nothing to lose. And of course claim the insurance money too - get a new camera and have a beater for taking to the beach etc. Worth a try - you never know!
  14. Taken 2 years ago in the north of Norway while on a motorbike trip. Beautiful weather for 3 weeks. We camped by this lake and drank beers well into the night. Very mellow place.
  15. Oh man! I shouldn't laugh, but the image of you on your hands and knees beside the bath, and the look on your face as your camera plopped into the water - priceless! Thanks for brightening up my morning!!
  16. Those ATs are awesome - can't wait to see which ones they go for. Big vote for the Deep Two to go with my DSSD, and the all black Galapagos is very slick! Standard black face 2000 AT looks clean and simple and with a decent simple movement could be tempting too. Oh dear - looking expensive already!!
  17. Great review - thanks! I've been wearing the Portuguese chrono on and off for a couple of years now - been lucky enough to have one where the movement appears to still be intact - but have been considering one of these as a "dress" watch (normally a Seadweller/Cousteau/BP/GMT/DSSD type person). Tempted - as you say for $98 seems like a bargain!
  18. Man - I'm glad there's good ones out there!! For sure I'm only buying from dealers with proven QC from here on.
  19. WTF is going on here!! You trying to burn the hairs off your arm!
  20. I'm down for the BK/WM9 preorder - that is going to be a fantastic piece for sure - I'm thinking that is going to be the ultimate in the forseeable future. I have a DRSD from Paso/MBW and it is superb too - wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger there and Paso is a great guy to deal with. However, if you're looking for a daily beater, it is hard to go past Trusty Ultimate SD 16600. I have a gen 16600 (in the safe now - it's a collector's item!) but wear my TT watch as a daily beater and it is a great watch. It looks perfect. Sure, if you put it side by side with a gen and break out the loupe, you'll notice some differences, but on your wrist, it is ideal. Trusty says it is waterproof to 100m and I've certainly worn it swimming without any problems. Been on my wrist for about 9 months and so far we're on average + 5 secs a day which IMOis respectable straight out of the box with no servicing/modding. My 2c - put your name down for the WM9 and get a Trusty ultimate to wear for the next 9 months while you wait for the WM9 to arrive
