  1. Unless you have a money tree dont go crazy buying gen parts. The basic outside pieces make the biggest difference, so stick with them. In my opinion, Genuine crystal, insert, crown Aftermarket Case tube, bracelet, Clark hands, a decent date wheel. Mods this is where you should spend your time. It makes a huge difference. Crown guards, drill the lug holes, sink the He valve in the case a bit, remove the paint on the case back and polish the lugs to make them smaller and maybe a vintage relume. Anything else is going to cost a fortune and you will still not be able to fool that 1-2% of the population that would pick out a stock MBW vs your modded one. All the mods in the world wont make it real and 99% of the population wont know any better, so save yourself some money and take short cuts where you can. Give up on trying to fool a WIS it's not going to happen and in your lifetime you may encounter only a handful of watch nerds in real life. Most people dont know and dont care. IMO, the main thing is to work the case to make it look vintage. If I were to see someone wearing a NOS 1665 that would be a huge red flag to me.
  2. You can spray it with a clear mat or gloss varnish if the scratch is not into the metal. If your first coat is not nice and even, you can shoot a couple or three coats, then go back and lightly sand out any lumps with very fine paper and remove any imperfections you may have if you dont get a good even coat. I have done this before and it's worth a try, if you mess it up, you can always get another dial.
  3. The screws are too short and would not hold anything in place so they do not even need to be touched. Not to say you are incompetent as that is obviously not the case with you BK, but from my experience, You will [censored] it up unless you have one of those expensive bezel removers, I am almost certain of it. I removed mine and did manage to get it back to working order, but I bent the [censored] out of the bezel, luckily I got it straight, but fleed is correct the spring will be damaged and will have to be replaced. The experience was a complete waste of my time and I came really close to FUBAR my fish. That bezel is on there and if i had it to do all over again, I would have just left it alone.
  4. What up Hike. We just got home. The Zigmeister is right, it's not like the 28xx movements, You have to be firm with this one. It is possible to fug up the keyless, but not at ALL like the 28xx eta's. I have not started you noob just yet, will prolly sit down tomorrow night and get it straight for you. Was too busy looking at all the boobs on the SC beaches this week. I am sure you can understand.
  5. @ sssurfer, dude you rock. Sorry I just got around to checking this out and thanks to a reminder form Rod on my pm. I was not being unappreciative, but was on vacation drinking beer and looking at ALL the boobs/butts on the beach. thanks again dude.
  6. LOL. Looks complicated. Guess we are all screwed now.
  7. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...=remove+cyclops
  8. A ball of Duck Tape or rubber gloves works well too. Anything that will get a good grip without marking the case.
  9. Yes. Just remove the cyclops from the crystal you have. Get a genuine crown / aftermarket or gen tube. The Noob crown is too BIG. Cant wait to see your results. I agree with By-Tor the noob case does look like a great base for a nice 14060, just needs some lug holes.
  10. I cant, thats just it. When I right click it it does not have an option to save it, only options (which are worthless) and about Adobe.
  11. I really want to use this waterproof film as a signature, but I dont know how to capture it. Here is a link, you will have to add the www. .rolex.com/en/#/en/xml/collection/extraordinary-watches/submariner/features/waterproofness Thanks in advance for any help.
  12. 14060 still has lug holes. Rolex only put the SEL's on the date models not this one.
  13. I think it turned out nice Hike. I like that the stitching stayed blue. Looks great on the PVD.
  14. Did anyone see this reply from his HBB post. I hope the dummy [censored] gives him his address. "Congratulation and welcome! Please send me your address via jcbiver@hublot.com and I will send you my handwritten extended guarantee for your watch. Please also indicate the case number and style of your Big Bang"
  15. I really dont understand why people do that. No good can come from doing it and you will only get your feelings hurt. You are never going to fool a WIS with a $500 watch. Stick to the rest of the population and leave that 1% alone. They dont [censored] with us, return the favor.
  16. From the bad pictures, it looks gen. Better pics would help for sure.
  17. Jetmid and fliplockbuckle are ninja code words used by fellow rep collectors. Two stars of this forum that gave so much entertainment for us all to enjoy.
  18. If someone calls you out, look them in the eyes and say Jetmid. Then they will understand.
  19. Cool Freddy. Very enjoyable read. Thanks for sharing your day with me. Be safe and have fun. Lance
