I've read the thread with interest. It's shocking how a respected member of the community can turn rogue.
Additionally, maybe there should be a rule for sellers not to request PayPal gift payments.
Guys, I recently purchased a watch from a member on here. I paid quickly and was requested to use PayPal gift. I asked to go 50:50 on PayPal fees but he refused, so I paid them myself. The watch should have been posted special delivery within the UK to my UK address last Friday. I've asked the seller via PM and email to update me and nothing. He originally gave me a telephone number which I've left a message on but no reply.
I know of at least one other member on here who's having the same problem as me with this seller and wondered if there are any other members who are experiencing the same lack of communication and no watch. The seller has logged on - yesterday, but has not replied to my email or voicemail.
He has been selling a fair few watches recently so be careful.
Any advice appreciated. Moderators please contact me to advise the next step I should take.
Thanks all.
I've orders the same, well almost - I've ordered it with a cyclops. We shall have to compare and contrast when they arrive. I guess it'll be a month to six weeks?
Maybe it's something small and I agree that you'd only see it twice a day, but it would bug me, I just know it would. As to bezel etc, I guess I could go gen if I needed to. I really don't know why, but IHS would get me, just knowing would be enough. lol I guess it's horses for courses as there are some lovely reps of the GMT II
Thanks for the comments both. Very useful. And, yes I'm talking about the GMT II.
It was Andrew who advised against it! I'll have a ponder and probably take a chance.
I keep thinking about buying a Rolex GMT. Now looking at a few TD web sites I find that most have the incorrect hand stack, i.e. the GMT hand being below the hour hand rather than above it.
Then Puretime came good and have the correct hand stack. I placed an order only for it to fall through before payment. I'm still waiting for them to get back to me as to the reason why the order was rejected.
I emailed another TD who came back and said that the correct hand stack is not available. When I pointed them to the Puretime version I was told that yes, it's available but is unreliable and hence the reason why they have chosen not to sell it. So, has anyone a Rolex with the correct hand stack, is it reliable?
Thanks all.
If you like the watch and intend to keep it,mother just find a local watchsmith and have it serviced. Then you'll be safe in the knowledge that it should run fine for many more years to come.
Okay thanks, I was worried for a minute as I can't get EXXON Elite over here. I was going to ask if I could use Yourfrickinpullinmyleg Mineral oil lol. Love it keep up the humour guys
