  1. Hi there, I´ve been looking for/reviewing the JLC Master Geographic Duo-Time which is stunningly beautiful and also stumbled on this duometre: http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&keyword=duometre from Trusty. From the reviews I saw the 23j is a good and reliable movement and the complications do work so this should apply for the one You are seeking too. Wish You luck for this after the CNY holidays - still time to look for more reviews on it.
  2. Hi and welcome to the forum. Some TD take 2-3 days until they come back to Your e-mails. Also lots of business going on as CNY is starting. If not in stock no shipping till 10th of February, asked yesterday. Best to buy here on the forum in the m2m section until then or confirm availability before placing order in this period. Wish You luck.
  3. That is a wonderful watch winder You have there, with a classic window too. Looks brilliant with Your collection in it, well part of it. Big collection of beautiful watches:)
  4. Hi and welcome to RWG. Good Your problem could be sorted out. Wish You more luck with the next order.
  5. Welcome to RWG and the wonderful world of watches. The Pasha Seatimer and Chanel J12 are well made - and lots of other Rolexes too, have fun around.
  6. Hello and welcome to RWG. For that beautiful IWC the most expensive are the best but they have a very unreliable movement and break down a lot because of the gears for the seconds at six, so it will only last a very short time or You have to let it modify immediately after purchase (read about this). Exception are quartz but they don´t look like the Gen, although in my opinion also nice. But there are very good AP´s around, including the Diver, 15400 and the AP ROOs, maybe in SS as a daily option. See You around.
  7. Namaste. Welcome to the RWG. A nice place to start reading about Omegas and others are By-Tors excellent reviews here: http://www.rwgforum.net/forum/167-by-tors-watch-reviews/
  8. Just about the lume: Excellent, great, at first can find nearby things in a dark room, later time is readable 8 hours or more (all night).
  9. As opinions go American Hustle was 2x better and 3x more fun and intelligent. Anyway the 3 hours go by fast, great roleplay by Caprio, continuous offensive language though, best scene the one with the white Lambo.
  10. and this is the Steelfish V2 I got from Toro, just to have a look: and lumeshot outside at night
  11. Congrats on Your new Breitling and thanks for posting the reviews. But than You put that fantastic sounding Mustang 5 liter on the Autobahn below and with that wonderful, grumbling sound I forgot about the watch. Reminded me of the Pontiac Transam Firebird Targa V8 when they still made 5l machines, it was a wonderful car. And You´ve got the matching Chrono. Have fun and thanks for the posts, this was good.
  12. Silix has a section for cheap watches and another for expensive/normal watches. With very rare exceptions for special models or as replacement piece providers the cheap ones will not make You happy. The cheap are very cheap, no luminosity, different from gen, cheap materials etc. and some nice quartz. Michele is a good TD so he just additionally offers cheap watches at cheap prices also, sometimes it is good for trying out a watch before You order the 400-500 USD model. For the normal quality You have to look in his expensive section.
  13. Torobravos too is a TD with very good service and quality watches, has the Abyss 42mm in his hot section for the special price of 205 with Asian ETA, maybe he still has some (the yellow is not available).
  14. Hi and welcome to the forum. Looking for a very specific model sometimes is difficult. Check out the TAG sections with 3 randomly chosen trusted dealers and choose one of Your liking. Trustytime is a good place to start with because of fast response and shipping. If You go for the 300-400 USD reps plus shipping most of them are very good, for the cheaper ones You have to do reading, really a lot of reading, I would advise to first buy one of the better ones because they are really good.
  15. Hi, it looks good and comes on a SS bracelet. The Asian ETA movement is fine, normally I don´t go for the more expensive swiss. Torobravos has the 42 mm Abyss for 205 going in his hot section (but probably some models sold out). Bought the steelfish and it´s a super-rep but this should be about the same. I´m a Breitling user but no expert so far. Good luck with Your buy.
  16. Hi and welcome to the forum. About TC: Amazing quality bracelet. Overall quality build and function, very good and solid feeling movement, thinner case than most other, superior dial, specially when using a 10x lupe. Inner rehault engravings are removed - everybody who "knows" about Rolex internetwise will spot this (haha) and say: "It´s a fake, Rolex introduced these engravings because they are difficult to reproduce" though it´s more gen-like for older models. In comparison - for the unwary public - the insert is really a minor issue. Outer casing engravings/serial removed - so it´s not too advisable to wear it on a NATO - it sure will be spotted as soon as the bracelet is removed. As so much was said about details.... thought I should add the 2 major issues which nobody cares about anyway. I use the TC as it came - didn´t add or change anything, great watch visually and technically.
  17. Pricewise they are in a territory where flaws (movement issues with seconds/scratching stem/misaligned dial/hands) are not allowed any more because buying a second one just because the first has "some" flaws is prohibitive. That´s why I don´t have one (yet?) Have seen several perfect ones here but want to ask: Are all of them good or do we see only the best posted? The AP Diver V5 (from Toro) is surely one of my best 3 reps qualitywise and worth every cent. Are the APRoos the same/better?
  18. Thanks a lot for the suggestions so far. Best, neutral for dress and sports seems the Omega. Used the Seamaster Pro 300m for the last Years but felt it was time for a change. The PAM 233 GMT is on my list but waiting for a good rep; Rolex – Coke or Batman on the radar, most risky for border controls and can take only one. Haven´t been a Sinn-fan (until now) but will look for a U2 GMT (although too sporty for dress). Breitling possibly, but its too thick. For dress/meetings/business that Ulysse Nardin is tops, but is there a TD who has it? Any other that also fits under the cuffs well?
  19. Hi and welcome to the forum. You will get a great watch. Time to start looking out for the next ones for the day the first arrives. Good luck and read reviews before ordering, always good.
  20. Welcome to the forum. The best place to find all information on watches and detailed reviews. Bem-vindo Amigo
  21. Welcome to the forum. Many hours of interesting reading and beautiful pictures are awaiting You. This will be fun.
  22. Hi to all Specialists and Forum Members, Looking for the ultimate travel watch. Is there one Rep that does it all, is not a Rolex and costs below 10k as gen? Got so used to wearing each rep for the occasion that suddenly its difficult to decide on just one or two for all (too big, no lume, too expensive, too simple, too dressy, too flawed etc - You get the idea) If You where to cross-border business-travel several countries for 15 days with a leisure mixture of pool, beach & woods what would You take (if the G-shock or the Rolex won´t do). Specific model or picture attached would be perfect as I want to consider these on my "next-to-get-list". Big thanks in advance for your comments. Cheers
  23. Hi and welcome on the forum. Fraggle has already said all there is to say. Just look at the mentioned dealer sites and choose a watch of Your liking in the 280-400 usd range plus shipping. No need to go swiss eta, Asian eta is fine (and about 100 usd cheaper) but do not get tempted by the cheaper offerings in Your first purchase. Cheap is worse as with everything but look almost the same on pictures. Chronos are more "complicated" watches than those with just hands and a date, so the last are normally better/ more reliable. Seamaster Ceramic and Breitling Steelfish/Seawolf (non-chronos) are optimal first choices. You will be amazed by the quality. As you wait for the watch, do more reading and maybe carefully choose a chrono to order on the day Your first watch arrives. Good luck.
  24. Nice piece to have. Now that it´s finally there....needs to be full before next summer.... Well, now that´s quite some excuse to get them coming.
