I see 2 key words in previous posts...allegiance and assimilate My wife is Indian, by decent, but she was born and raised in Fiji as was her father and his father before him. She considers herself as much an Aussie as myself these days and takes seriously her oath of citizenship to uphold the ways and customs of her adoptive home. That does not mean she has lost any pride in her roots just that she has assimilated into our way of life. Now all here Fijian (Indian) friends living in Australia are a completely different story. They are all married to partners who are also Fijian Indian, who are also 3rd generation Fijians but who will never believe there is any culture worth living than one from a country most could not find on a map. We have in fact had trouble with some that could not accept that my wife would choose to live as a Christian instead of a Hindi and this despite most of them having such a blurred understanding of Hinduism that most practice something that is a mix of both Hindi and Islam. 4. All the best Red, the fact that your a team member shows the regard we all have in you. Ken
  5. I vote Andy organizes the next office party. Ken
  6. Jimmy to be honest every seller not listed on our board gets a red flag. Yes I know there are still many sellers out there that wont shaft you but the sellers here have a track record spanning back years of looking after their customers, this includes replacement for incorrect or faulty goods. Again I am sure there are sellers not here that will do the same, in most cases, but here you have the entire community to make sure the sellers do stay honest. Ken
  7. I wonder if the seller realises what he has there? I would have thought 'Black Lung' would be a feature of the description. Ken

I'm a religious man, not deeply in the sense that I pray often or attend church every week, but i do believe in God and more importantly I believe the world would be a far better place if everyone was to focus on the message of peace and goodwill that is the basis of all religions. So anyway today after a long absence my family did in fact attend church, my wife just walked away from her 3rd total car write off accident and felt it was time to give thanks, interestingly the ministers message in today church paper was about these very riots. Although it is probably very wishful thinking that everyone will 'Find God' again to fix society (as the minister hoped) I do agree with his belief that the moral decay behind these riots can be suppressed, for a time, by draconian methods that governments might choose to implement they wont eradicate them. I personally believe that parents need to take more responsibility for what is happening in todays society and teach their children by example, I know when I was younger the kids of my generation had both a strong sense of right from wrong as well as the ability to show respect to others and their possessions. My friends and I din't vandalize nor rob for 3 main reasons (1) The knowledge that it was wrong (2) A healthy respect for law enforcement (3) The shame it would bring upon our family. Of the three I think it was a loss of respect from our parents that we would have dreaded most. It's the same for these gangs bashing defenseless people, my father always told me there was 3 marks of a coward (1) To use a weapon (2) To kick someone who was down (3) To fight as part of a gang. A real man will always fight one on one with his fists only and his aim is to best his opponent not kill him. The unfortunate reality is that many who scream the loudest for their governments to fix these problems are in fact parents of those who are part of the problem. Ken
  9. I was best man at a buddies wedding, he, myself and the other groomsmen all wore one of my watches. And I can tell you that many guests drooled over them all night. Ken
  10. Yep wear a genuine watch...and buy her a replica wedding dress. Now where could you get one of those from I wonder. Ken

Just further to what subbie just said about the boat people and illegal immigration. It is a little know fact that the major political parties are both playing this card to their own benefit. I believe facts show that over 90% of our illegal immigrants actually fly in. Ken
  12. Also agree with Andreww our hobby has long since passed the 'Underground' tag, I think what authorities aim for now is to keep us 'Contained' Vids on Youtube are nothing on the gold mine people find here. Ken

I see London has had to revise the 2012 Olympic logo... Ken
  14. I was actually thinking those Hysek's look interesting, do you have any close ups of the dials? Ken
  15. Ok I'll be the noob....are there genuine counterparts for these watches? Ken
  16. Cmon Nanuq if I looked like that I would spend all day in front of the mirror. Naked Ken
  17. Someone is in for a nasty surprise. Melissa our gold watches are indeed plated but they are usually done very well. Yes it will wear off but that usually takes time and a fair bit of wearing, also scratches is something you don't want on any watch, even steel (vintages aside) so normal care when wearing the watch should stop that. Ken
  18. Hi Melissa and welcome to RWG. We do have other female members but in general they tend to stay a bit incognito, for that reason you are destined to become a favourite. Don't let that overwhelm you as we do have a great bunch of guys here that will be happy to help with any of your requests. But we also have a very good Admin team should anyone be less of a gentleman. Ken
  19. Carl I would be very happy if someone else tried to act as go between but as I say he has resisted every attempt to talk so far. Ken
  20. Carl the problem is that he doesn't want to negotiate. He started a little smear campaign on RG but the members basically said drop the PP dispute and talk to the dealer, so he just stopped posting. Ken
  21. Actually J bending to unreasonable demands is not an option, do that and it can quickly become open slather. Ken
  22. Or maybe not, I don't get a hit with 'Cartier leather watch case' or just 'Cartier watch case'... Ken
  23. I wont lose a cent if he doesn't let me make him right. However I have to set up a new account, new Email addy, new bank so a royal pain. Ken
  24. Well there you go, the Op in his infinite wisdom decided it would be easier to discredit me on RG. However he started to take a belting there too and the mods closed the thread. I understand the 'It didn't happen here' line, we use it all the time too but we would never lock down a dealers thread who is just trying to get a sensible result from a customer. Look I don't want to screw this customer, I truly believe it is a far better business practice to lose on a deal to make it right but he has put me out of business for 2 full days now and today I have to decide to burn that account or not. What do I do? Ken
