  1. I wouldnt run the chrono's just for the fact that it would kill your power reserve time. On the Asian7750 movement i wouldnt even use the chronos at all. I dont trust those movements at all.. On a real ETA/valjoux7750 using the chrono is fine, but again i wouldnt run them all the time for no reason.
  2. Contact Angus at puretime. He can make one for you. You're gunna be looking at around $900-$1000 though just so you know. The gen ETA7750 is a rather expensive movement. I'd rather buy 3 Asian7750 Super Avengers and just toss on a new one when one breaks haha
  3. absolutely awesome! I have always found this to be an interesting watch and is a MUST in any Rolex collection. The transition from the old to the newer style is very cool. Love the silver datewheel too
  4. this is the fastest way to get it out... but if you dont want to destroy the watch, there are many good tutorials here on how to disassemble and reassemble watches. Just use the search function or look in the modding/repair sections
  5. vintage = no lume taka's COMEX lume is completely incorrect and he should give it to me for free lol I have a gen white letter dial on my franken 1680 and it has no glow at all anymore... the tritium is dead.
  6. Thanks for the kind words TT hehe 12,000 posts!! That will take me about 15 years at this rate lol
  7. good luck finding someone who understands... my GF thinks im insane and should be put in a padded room...
  8. white 1680's are going for $10k now? holy crap.. but i guess its about right.. if it still had the orig 24-702 crown and tube and orig everything... the red 1680's are getting rediculous $$$ but the white dials are quickly catching up
  9. i just realized i passed 1500 posts.. might not seem like much to some of you, but its got me thinking about all the good friends i have made here, all i have learned.. and yeah also all the money i have spent.. ugh.. hehe I just want to thank everyone here (especially the staff and Sr members) for making my watch collecting experience an unforgettable one and to thank you for making RWG a great place to be. dizz
  10. prob $6000+ i would guess... with full box and papers prob more $... sold mine about 7 yrs ago for $1200, all orig but no papers... yes im an idiot
  11. The sec@3 mod seems pretty good but you are right the sec@6 is a disaster and i infact have my very own daytona paper weight sitting on my work bench.. one day maybe they will make a proper sec@6 movement. I think a big problem with the A7750 is that there are MANY variations and grades of quality when it comes to the chinese 7750 clones.. we've found 7750's for as little as $5 so you know those are absolute junk. The better versions seem to be getting more reliable.. but the problem with reps is that you never really know what you are getting.
  12. i guess you are right, I wouldnt mind getting another gen white dial 1680... no more talk about rail dials or im gunna have to upgrade my 1665 again lol
  13. i bet they will ALL regret selling them!!! I know i would! Im just waiting for the perfect 6265 to come up.. thats my next big rep purchase i think...
  14. yeah for sure.. its a GREAT time to buy. When i was searching for my modded 1680 i waited for a year for the right one.. now there are at least 3 for sale that i would jump on haha.
  15. Whats with the sudden surge of vintage MBW's for sale here? many modded 1665's and 1680's in the sales section.. makes me sad that people are falling out of love with them. BUT if i was in the market to buy one.. now is the time. I would never sell mine.. ever..
  16. opening the case is a must for anyone paying extra for any movement upgrade.. especially if you are told you are getting any of the disappearing ETA movements...
  17. congratulations on 1000!!! i love that gen!
  18. Awesome pics!!!! The 6.75 is my favorite watch right now by far. The only thing it needs is double AR and its pretty much dead on. If the factories fixed the AR problem on these.. it would be an absolutely AMAZING watch right out of the box. Heres mine with the Cheiftain double AR... you cant see the crystal at all under most conditions.. just awesome
  19. i keep saying im going to do a DW project.. i like the idea of a $300-400 A7750 DW Daytona 6265...
  20. i'm gunna order one tonight.. not sure what dealer yet.. but we'll see how the watch looks when i get it.. the grey color rehaut writing can be easily fixed.. bracelet can be redone...
