My latest dive watch purchase - Obris Morgan Pradata
samsnelling replied to samsnelling's topic in General Discussion
What a bummer about the DLC! That sounds like something that would be done on a cheaper watch (like one of my DLC'd fossils). I got the blasted finish, which hopefully looks good! I have read similar reviews that the blasted is a last step finish as well. -
My latest dive watch purchase - Obris Morgan Pradata

I love that. I've been waiting on their Tudor homage to come back in stock as well! -
I've owned a couple fossils. Honestly hasn't touched my wrist in probably 8 months. Maybe I should put it on for old times sake. In my experience with Fossils, there is always one to two things that I would change. Looks like they almost had this one!

If you're happy with it, keep it. If you aren't, talk to your dealer. Either way, wear in good health I love the 116610

Just got in some custom gunny straps.

I have the same one Amazon?

So beautiful!!! I love DJ's. If anyone doesn't mind, I've been following the work of mymanmatt for a while, and no one has ever said roughly what they paid or put into it. I'd love to hear what his work roughly costs!

Droptopman -- What kind of strap is that? I'm digging it! PS - Showoff

That's a bummer Andrew will probably have you send it back to his watch repair guys to clean it. Takes about a month to CONUS. I just had a similar situation with a crown that fell off. I may look into what it would cost to have someone else take a look at it in a shorter period of time... but that is just me. Best of luck!

Thanks for this post! I absolutely LOVE gen vs rep posts. Mostly because I can hardly notice the little things when looking side by side. So I need to stop being so damn picky
-
Jack, This is going to sound weird, but you are not the first person I've heard have this issue. I've heard of this happening to probably 3 or 4 other people. Strange. I'd contact one of the watch repair guys in the forum and see what it would cost to send it off. Best, Sam

Live1 got a custom build by zocker (on RWI) FYI. Truly beautiful. Live, could you give a ball park of what the parts cost? You have quite a few Gen parts.

Well, TC makes the 16610, and that is a newer 116610. You can tell because it has the rehault engraved ROLEX all around and the ceramic insert. Basically what I'm saying is that a TC is a different watch although both submariners. You said he paid 4k ... I assume you do not mean USD! If you love the look of a 116610, BK is your man. Either way, I'd source some gen parts: crown & tube, crystal, bezel insert, etc... have someone put it together for you, and you'd be into it $1200 to 2k USD range depending on how fun you want to get ~ less than a fourth what he paid. You're friend is a showoff

Damn Mike, I need to stop falling in love with black watches. 7 out of 10 of mine are black!!

Man, I've never been a fan of the DSSD personally, a wee bit big IMO. But yours looks so nice for what you paid... I may have to source a Franken in a few months. So pretty!

This is the perfect explanation of the replica purchase cycle! #4 could not be more spot on. But I have to agree with Mike -- This is more like a few week cycle -

The second is what I like to call a Mickey Mouse watch On a serious note -- My brother in law has very similar huge watches. He pulls them off well. They look good! -
