  1. Once the crystal is on my pam, I'll be taking a lot of photos to share with you guys. If it ends up fitting, I'll get quotes and organize how payment can be carried out.
  2. The only legitimate COUNTRY that was a state was Texas.. which had its own president and was recognized by both the U.S. and Mexico as a nation state. Vermont, although a republic was never legitimized as it's inhabitants considered themselves Americans without congressional representation. California's republic was never recognized by any other nation and thus, was never officially recognized as a country. this leaves Texas as the only authentic sovereign nation, to have been incorporated into the United States.
  3. beautiful! I've always wanted this watch.. just don't know if I could pull it off! The gen is 80,000usd!
  4. +1 That's correct. It's been discussed before. There are many GEN po's (especially newer ones) that have the 'professional' engraving
  5. UPDATE: Looks like I've finally got a Sample crystal made! They're sending it to me by the end of this week.. I won't be able to mount it into my 253 till I get back to spain from the U.S. but I'll be sure to take some detailed pictures of how it looks. If the fit is perfect, I'll consult with you guys here, and see how many I'll need to order. The crystal is ssapphire with single-sided (inner) AR as per GEN. Not sure about prices still, but that depends on the number of people interested. I'm hoping to get the price as low as possible. This is the furthest step forward in months, but it looks like the wheels are turning on this project!
  6. cheers to that. I probably won't be passing through charlotte till possibly this summer. I'm from ATlanta, but have been living in spain for the last 5 years.. before that italy.... and before that france... But every once and I while I make it back to my sacred Georgia! We'll see how we can logistically meet up for a beer! (unless you by chance happen to be coming to madrid soon!?????) If you come to madrid, I promise to have 4 cans ready for you to bring back to the UK!!
  7. Deep Sea Sea Dweller on this gray day in Madrid Hope you like the pics
  8. I wouldn't send it back. The bezel is tightened by an simple wire spring. Rather than dissassemble your bezel insert many people have done the "dental floss" method. http://www.repgeek.com/showpost.php?p=996345&postcount=1 If you'd like to mod the bezel spring, it will take quite a bit more work, but not impossible by any means. I'd rule out the sending back part unless the bezel is actually falling off or impeding the function of the watch. There would be no garuantee that you'd get a better watch anyways. It's always a risk sending watches back to china. Take a look around, there's plenty of people that have done things to improve their bezel "clickiness", in the search bar put in "loose bezel" and you'll get pages and pages of info
  9. yeah try a chopard boutique. But in my honest opinion it won't be worth the money. There are better after market straps out there that won't cost you 300euros like the chopard brand will. Call or check with a chopard boutique/dealer first, after they tell you how much it costs... re-evaluate the situation and buy a strap like mine: (only $30usd from strapped for time )
  10. Technically, you shouldn't feel anything.. This means that your rotor is nice and balanced! If the watch is working, then nothing is wrong.. Secondly.... you shouldn't be "striking" your rep at all with your hand. A gentle shake should do it
  11. Yeah go for the 2836.. you won't be disappointed
  12. search function...
  13. definitely looks offset to me.. as it should be.
  14. Francisco in Spain (he's often quite busy though) Domi (In germany i think) Hi-Jack (another spanish modder, not on the board though and doesn't speak english that i know of, but i could translate if necessary) Loosetime (another spanish modder, here in spain, not on the board though) Paco Torres (amazing watchmaker in Granada spain, not on any forums, but does great work for very cheap (25 euros for a full breakdown service)He speaks no english.
  15. I've got my mercadona deodorant poised and ready for you, just in case you bring some of that good 'ol uk stench along with you haha j.k. @max: You're invited too! at this point we're hi-jacking naeems thread.. but since he hasn't appeared to say thankk you for the answers we've given.. screw it! hi-jack away!
  16. +1
  17. so what did you do to the watch when you opened it up??????
  18. yeah that makes sense! i got it nice watch "AGAIN" (that's a funny username... i feel like everytime i use it i have to capitalize it or put quotes around it in order to not be confusing... hahaha
  19. I love my 45.5 too much.. but this looks like a winner for my dad
  20. wow.. didn't have any idea.. so.. it's now more expensive to ship to spain?
  21. unless you know he'd appreciate a good rep.. i wouldn't buy. I definitely wouldn't buy him a rep if you don't plan on telling him it's a rep either.... Add the fact that you don't know what style watch he's into.. and it further complicates things!
  22. haha.. i'm embarassed.. Good thing I live in Spain.... Although, I doubt the average spaniard would do much better!! I'd love to conduct a street interview here in madrid with the same questions!
  23. didn't know spain had any problems.. I've gotten things with no problems here in madrid....
