  1. You obviosly don't have the watchbitz toolkit.. Never had a problem with any of my watches and the springbar tool not fitting.. A push pin would be great if you could get some freakin leverage with it. I used to use pins and take about 15 minutes to get a springbar off. With my springbar tool it takes me less than a minute That's correct. Contact offshore before you order and he'll set up your checkout process for you so that you get the discount
  2. I said the same thing when i first saw them 5 months ago. Every time i see one i like it more and more... And I hate myself for it.. cuz it's DAMN UGLY! but i'll probably end up getting one before long! p.s. I tried one on a few weeks ago.. and it looks peculiarly good on my wrist
  3. man...!! Thanks soo much aanival! I really love this community for stuff like this. Guys going out of their way to help a guy out! Madred is very right in that the bracelet on this watch looks VERY weird. the case is the same size as a ROO but has the same flat angles of a RO. Unless i could find a RO bracelet that fits a ROO case.. looks like the only way it could possibly look good would be to modify the bracelet heavily by re-machining it this is really disappointing since this watch would look excellent on a nice flat bracelet :( my heart is truly broken!
  4. damn.. that's beautiful
  5. Gen... Look at that subdial positioning Plus.. this watch has never been repped to my knowledge. If you ahve it in your sights for a good price, jump on it!
  6. welcome aboard matey! ARGGGH! The bootey here is better than a chest full of gold! (in a pirate voice)
  7. Congrats eton! You da man. You new guys are amazing with your post counts! I've been here for over 3 years and still will probably never catch a guy like redwatch!!!!
  8. Beautiful watch! one of my favs.. Looks like the recently released V4 fromt the AR and more accurate cg. If you're interested, I'm organizing a group by for sapphire crystals for this watch. Add your name to the list if your interested. It's been a long time in the making, but it's still going forward.. albeit VERY VERY slowly
  9. i agree with jkay. It's definitely not a trevor watch.. The key for me is the OGEV engraving. WatchEden's engraving is thin like V3/V5(2009). Trevor's 2010V5 is just a TAD bit bolder. I think Trevor's engraving is technically a flaw.. but i think most people agree that it looks damn good though
  10. Last time I checked I was a real person... or are they saying people that wear fake watches are still in the matrix..... Oh crap.. I'm in the matrix!!! Where's morpheus!??
  11. I use WD40 and never had a problem. The best way to clean the bracelet before applying any lube is with an ultrasonic jeweler's bath. Most jeweler's have one and can clean the bracelet for you for a low price. It will get every piece of dirt and grime out of the bracelet, then you can concentrate on getting it buttery smooth. Once my bracelet is clean I apply a generous amount of WD40 and work the bracelet for about 2 or 3 minutes in my hands to get the oil well penetrated. Once it's been coated nicely and you're sure the oil has reached all crevices, i use normal dish soap and apply it to the surface of the bracelet using my hand. I then hand wash it under the sink being careful not to turn the water pressure to high. The piont is to get the surface of the bracelet clean while maintaining most of the oil inside the joints. I pat the bracelet dry and use compressed air to further dry. Once this is done I go over the bracelet with a microfiber cloth and get any remaining smudges out. Then my bracelet is silky smooth for months to come I pretty much do this after every refinishing and polishing that i perform. Not sure why some may think wd40 is bad, but it works great for me and doesn't seem to do any harm to my watches.. Been using it for over 3 years
  12. If you're watchsmith does not have experience with ASIAN 7750 movements, i would suggest you find somone familiar with that movement. If your watchsmith is comfortable with the movement, a full service should involve a complete disasembly, cleaning if needed, lubrication of all parts, and reassembly
  13. Send an email to mary, she can source lots of stuff usually. While you're at it.. try contacting all the dealers to see if they got one. Secondly.. Why are you posting this in the Panerai sub-forum?
  14. Open the back of the watch and look to see if it's ETA or not.... If you can't tell.. open the back, take a picture and post it up on here. I'm not a submariner expert, but the new ceramic bezel subs look nice .
  15. you're a post [censored] and I'm jealous haha.. j.k. you da man S!
  16. Can't remember specifically who..but i remember having seen several cracked bezels on here. What "coated" aluminum ceramic bezels have you found? As far as I'm concerned the only ceramic bezel watches available are the DSSD, Hublot Big Bangs, and the new submariner. Then there's quite a few ceramic case watches (some hbb models, Top Gun and Chanel J12 watches mainly) I don't think the genuineness of ceramic materials on our watch has ever been an issue.. At least not on this forum... Which ceramic coated aluminum bezels have you removed??? p.s. I feel like Lanikai has snapped a ceramic bezel or two but I can't be sure..
  17. We are saying that there is ONLY 1 version of this watch produced. There is NO "V"ersion 1 or "V"ersion 2. The watch is DLC pvd coated.
  18. Bezel is 100% ceramic.. and very brittle. Be very careful!
  19. hmm.. don't think this post will go anywhere. There is no "best" rep as far as i'm concerned too many excellent ones out there for one to be considered as "best"
  20. photobucket is free so is picasa and imageshack... none of them expire.. and we would love to see those pics again!!! :) pretty please with a cherry on top
  21. p.s P4GTR... any specific reason why your avatar is upside down??
  22. Anyone that takes a $10,000 watch before taking a dip in the ocean, pool, lake or swamp.. is smart for not risking [censored] up their investment one loose screw.. and it's bye bye DSSD.. hello ocean depths (rep gen or franken.. [censored] happens . As long as your smart and careful, (and tactful) i don't think you're a poser at all for taking a watch off before getting into water. I do it all the time. The only watch I wear in water is my G-shock.. and that would survive the apocalypse, WW3 and atomic fallout at the same time..: hehehehe
  23. bezel insert on BK's watch should be easy to source as it is the standard "cartel" bezel that josh, andrew and the lot carry,.. Not sure if Trevor has his bezels available, but a simple email to him would do the trick As far as I know.. trevor is the only dealer that has this specific watch with serial number M660304 (maybe an expert can confirm that though)which is the 2010 V5 that came out a few months ago (as i understand it)... Jkay can correct me if I'm wrong, he's def the dssd expert on this thread.
  24. no one can definitively answer that question for you. Take 20 minutes and read this entire thread.. then make an opinion. BTW the $225 version that trevor has an Asian clone movement. The version I reviewed in this link is the $250 Trevor version with Swiss ETA 2836 (confirmed swiss) therefore in my opinion the "BEST" version that trevor offers is the $250 version
  25. Yes it's curved and is supposed to be as such. The rep is flat..
