Hey guys, Bought a gen crown and tube from for my UPO from cousins and just now realizing that I'm not sure if i needed to have also bought a gen stem as well. Do I also need a gen stem in order for it to work??

But i mean.. there wasn't a return address on the watch he sent you?

He lives in watcher's town!!! You must have a return address and name that came on the package right??? hmmm.... we need to get a posse together and put this guy in his place...

Good insight. Thanks for the comment I'll see what they say. In any case.. the crystals in this group-buy will be copies of the rep crystal. Since we haven't found anyone with a gen crystal willing to loan it to us for the project.. it seems that's the only option we have.

It's an excellent rep. If you get the green sapphire one.. a common problem is the green coating getting scuffed very easily. I have one that I bought from a (well-known ) user here on the board and it's in impecable condition except for the green crystal. The green coating seems to be very easily scratched.. and i'm not the only one that's had this problem. Apart from that.. the watch is WONDERFUL

amazing... so you're telling me that you can actually input text on an ipad???? sounds almost like.. um.. oh yeah.. MY LAPTOP but less useful

Contacted them and they said they can fabricate a sapphire crystal if we give them exact dimensions and/or a sample crystal to copy. I'll probably give them some dimensions just to see what kind of price they quote for an order of crystals. If you say they've given bad service.. then i won't give them a second thought, but for now, i'll see what they come back at me with.

+1 ronin.. no idea what the ipad can do that my laptop can't... no one has explained it to me....

I got the ETA swiss 2836 movement. Don't think i could update it anymore than that.....

P.S. P4, not mine is not the $225 version. it's the slightly more expensive swiss ETA. Although this is a V5... it's still different than all other V5's that I have seen especially the "RLS" engraving.

Hey Panerai, The lume is very nicely colored and very uniform. Unfortunately it still only lasts a few minutes even after hours of exposure to sunlight. Standard rep quality, but the color is very good.

Yes, He only offers one dssd. and it is the DSSD that you see my pics. If you email him personally he'll do QC and send you pictures of the watch before shipment. I'm not sure if this service is available if you pay through his website... Buy from him with confidence and tell him that you were referred to him by Ryan/Plaifender.

Oh I see. Yeah mine too. My cloth was completely black also.. but that's normal with capecod. The black color on the cloth has nothing to do with how "dull" or "dirty" your watch is. It's simply oxidation from the steel. This color difference is NOT easy to see unless you have both versions in your hand to compare against each other. Even then it's not easy to see without the perfect lighting conditions. Especially, if you have a nicely refinished and polished bracelet on the older version watch, like mine is

VERY CORRECT Ok Everyone..... Sorry for the suspense.. but as promised I am sharing the dealer with you. I wanted to check with the admins before dropping a name. The dealer is Trevor. His version of the DSSD is unique and appears to be a quite nice V5.X with 316f steel. Another thing that distinguishes this watch is it's ever-so-slightly darker/bolder Ring Lock engravings. I reccomend you buy from him through email and not through his online checkout system. As the price might possibly be different if you mention that you are an RWG member or that you were recommended by me I had a great transaction with him and the watch arrived at my door here in Madrid, Spain only 6 days after ordering. Trevor might possibly be opening a storefront in the near future here on RWG.

@ Jkay: Neither is dull gray. Both of my watches are quite shiny. The photo is highlighting the fact that the darker steel is a different steel than the newer version that I have.... The newer lighter color watch appears to possibly be "316f" steel.

more functions than i need.. but i DO use the basic digital functions such as chronograph, lap and split times, Timer, Alarm and Timezone feature. Tide level, and moon phase... forget about it.. unless I'm stranded on an island!

i do have a desktop as well... but never or hardly use it.. my laptop is with me everywhere.. My point is... why carry a laptop and an IPAD?? if the laptop does everything the ipad does and is also just as portable?

Hey T, The stabilizer wings are extremely comfortable. The watch doesn't move alot on your wrist. Even if you loosen the strap a bit the watch stays centered on the wrist.

It'd survive everyone of those tests with flying colors except for the last one!! resin and open flames are friends......
