  1. This one now: Maybe this one later, just to give it some air:
  2. Who cares? She has the all-time best character name in film history! ("Oh gosh!" my wife said.)
  3. You've all had better luck with rep quartz watches than the Mrs. has. She's had 2 or 3 break.
  4. Hope you enjoy the Milgauss. I found the polished steel on mine attracted smudges like nothing I've seen, so I sold it.
  5. What a fabulous watch to have! I don't recall you posting about this Daytona before. Why would you want the modern one if you have this one?
  6. Five month follow-up: Runs great, keeps excellent time (COSC standards), and the steel on the bracelet has the best finish of any brushed steel bracelet I've ever owned. Old pic:
  7. I second Noel's sentiments. BK has fixed several problems for me, once on one of his watches I bought from another member. (Found this thread while looking for the WM9 thread I started. Search function wouldn't reveal it, so I have to search manually. )
  8. Thanks, TJ. I used to wear gold all the time. Now I have this one, which I wear 1-2 times a month, my TT YM, which I wear weekly, and a RG 183, which I'm hit-and-miss with. The gold reps tarnish quickly here and require regular upkeep--I'm too lazy for that!
  9. I bought this one from Silix a year or so ago. I asked for a Seagull model but got a 7750. The hour subdial should be tracking the hour hand. (Silix has never sold the one with the fixed hour subdial, to my knowledge.) It was a very nice watch and very accurate time-keeper, but too light for my tastes.
  10. Decided to wear gold today: This watch always starts up with just a gentle shake.
  11. It's a complicated story... Paul Newman never wore one with a colored dial. Here's a couple of interesting links: http://doubleredseadweller.com/ http://www.qualitytyme.net/pages/rolex_articles/30daytona.html
  12. I bought my wife a D40 a couple of years ago. I like the images that come out of that camera better than those my D80 produces, at half the cost! I use a Tamron 90 macro lens with my D80. I bought it 2nd hand from Adorma and it's a great lens. If you're never going to use the macro lens as a portrait lens (which you really should do), then get the manual focus. That little 60mm AF-S full auto focus will double as a great little 90mm (equivalent) portrait lens! I use my 50mm 1.8 almost as much as I use my 18-200mm VR.
  13. I like that watch, a lot. I wish it was repped well.
  14. Also, Lawrence sells several 21J models, some for $82 shipped: http://www.houseofsouvenirs.com/omega_seamaster.htm (He's a recommended dealer on RWG1.1, but not here.) Doesn't Reg (Narikaa) sell these, too?
  15. Here is one from Andrew advertised as having "thick lumi" markers and 10 mil thick gold wrapping: That's about as "lumi" as a DJ gets. (Still, it's rep lume, so who knows how bright it will be?) http://www.tt88time.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_12&products_id=1331 Not a bad looking watch for $248.
  16. I try, too: My wife thinks I'm silly, but she does it too. (My cuff link should have been gold, not silver, but the blue works for me.)
