Recieved the Black version from PT yesterday, and in my opinion this has got to be equl or better than the Steelfish and chronomat evo with regards to accuracy. Size is spot on, although, strangely, sometimes the rep looks bigger, and other times the gen.! I dont have scales, but the weight seems identical. Bracelet is class, there is a small difference in the spacing between the centre links otherwise perfect including clasp and quality of engraving. case, horns, pushers and crown are all identical The only flaws I can see are , movement, 7750 hi-beat, rotors are the same, but on the gen the bridges are machined with same herring bone pattern, the reps are plain. Date font, very good on this one ( PT says this is a revised version) Gens is slightly larger and more bold but the rep is loads better than some I have seen pictured. The main difference is the 6 and 12 sub dial chapter rings,they are wider than on the gen, initially I thoght it was because of the silver on black making them look larger but they are larger .sub dials also have the LP effect as per the gen This is a cracking piece, right up there with the best of them. I do agree the time has come to act for the good of the forum, however it would appear that the doors have already opened on the trojan horse and those who would see damage done to the forum are already amongst us. Now it would appear to be a damage limitation exercise. of what shape or form this needs to take, I have no idea. with regards to hiding the public face of the board, yes, I also agree that perhaps it would prevent more damage from people wanting to axe grind over ridiculous "problems" However. will preventing growth in new members not in itself cause the Boards to grow stale Even at the moment I dont see as much posting, perhaps because of nothing new on the horizon, or most topics have been beaten to death by existing members. It is time for change, but it will take some serious consideration as to what form this will have to take. cheers Colin

Both screws need to come out to remove the link, which should slide through easily, when you are putting it back together make sure links are angled in same orientation or they wont fit

Hi N the bracelet is in three sections, on the opposite side from the `cap` you have removed you have to pull the other cap through the centre link you end up with the cap that the screws go through and a cap that has two longer pins on it that go through the centre link hope this explains it

Hi Joe Thanks for the comments The Ar is very good on the rep, there does seem to be a slight difference in shade with the gen having an almost pinky hue compared to rep which is more purple. The Lume on the gen is off-white in colour but is glossy smooth even under a loupe When I took the pics it was on a windowsill and the lume had charged slightly the rep is close, but I think the main difference imo is the consistancy of the lume it is very grainy even on the hands . application on mine looks ok from even quite close up bit under a loupe its not good, very uneven in the rings and very course. Again , unless you wear loupe`s for specs, its hard to notice, on mine anyway. hope this helps

@'b16a2' The suround is a fraction thicker on the rep , but again you would have to see them side by side to notice. @ ryaku didn`t mean to come across as overly critical but I think it`s better to tell it how it is

Its is very close, most of the things I listed you would have to be holding each side by side to notice it is very very good

Just a quick comparison of Angus`s Black SF to a Gen white version This is a cracking rep, very good in most areas but still has some flaws, which in my opinion could be sorted relatively easily. 1. Pearl.... the rep pearl is almost twice the size of the gen, which is a shame as the pearl ring is almost identical to the gen. 2. The biggest difference I can see are the 3 hour markers. On the gen the markers are almost flat as opposed to raised on the rep, both are mirror finish, but the reps appear to be slightly larger, more bulbous in finish, the gen is 8 months old, I dont know if the newest SF have this style of marker so I could be wrong on this point. 3. The tail on the S on Superocean is straight on the rep while having a slight curve on the gen. 4 Case is very good, minor details are the horns are more pointy on the rep and there is slightly more curve on the outside edge of the gen. Bezel is excellent, font is good, size and engraving are spot on. The only other thing I can see is on the rep dial there seems to be minor distortions on the dial where the numbers/markers have been attached. It seems more pronounced on the black face than on the other colours. Apart from the above, this is a step up in rep quality, and with the proven water resistance (10bar) well worth adding to your collections. I think you have voiced the opinion that many on the forum have , but are perhaps loathe to bring to the board in fear of upsetting their favourite dealer. However, as long as we have no ability to physically view and handle the pieces before purchase we are always going to be at the mercy of the dealers and will have to rely on their honesty. The question is, is it out and out false advertising, or, a case of being economical with the truth to gain an edge over a competitor Also we have to bear in mind that at the end of the day, these are reps. Nobody wants to part with their hard earned cash and recieve goods "not as described" but truth is, what can we do? we could start sending purchases back, stop buying, start a new board section to list purchases, and dealers supplying goods not as described. where do you start? We on the board dont have the buying power to force change, representing but a small fraction of the business these guys do. The trend seems to be for more and more accurate reps and I think it must be down to each individual as to what is acceptable with regards to item description compared to item recieved, there is always the option to return to sender. I agree with your point , but I think the onus is on us, as buyers to start returning mis-described items, if it happens often enough and long enough, it may forcr the dealers into change.

Just been looking at Pauls site and noticed he`s taking pr-orders for the long awaited superocean ! looks mighty close to the gen I have no price as such,probably have to e-mail for details This could be an expensive year
