  1. Bezel 1's are wrong, not hooked, but flat. Pushers are way too long. Must be V2 movement, V3 dial, V1 bezel with Zulu titty pearl. Rehaut is way off. Looks to be swiss clone of GZ gen.

Edit: crown guards are too short, and date is not perfectly centered. This is a $20 canal st. piece. :whistling:

  2. when I unscrew the crown, im in winding position. pull once, im in date position, pull two clicks, im in time set. I've done this many many times with ETA 2836 etc. Like ByTor, I always do it in time set mode, against most peoples advice, but it never fails. I've only screwed up keyless works when trying to reinstall in winding position.

I'm good with the stem release button pressure, using the correct tip, etc. My main worry was how the chrono buttons attached to the movement. This seems to be cleared up greatly. I was able to (without decasing the movement) get the chrono hand straight again, thus making the watch back to operational status.

Thanks so much for posting, you guys made all the difference. If I choose to attack it later for a more perm. fix, I will. But I may leave well enough alone, this watch has a place in my heart, I need a 7750 specialist to service this. :)

  3. I posted this in general because I really need some help, and this is where I will get the most exposure.

I've removed movement/dials from cases before but not a 7750. I need someone to please point out how to do this.

A tutorial, anything with pics, or some advice please! My chrono hand has come loose on my Skyland and I really want to fix it. This is my favorite watch, Its going to drive me crazy until its fixed.

I cant seem to find anything that explains the process to remove the movement from the case.

  4. Yeah I saw that too, theres also someone selling a black one on an OR strap I pmed him and he said he would just sell me the head. Im pretty sure though my urges are just impulse. lol. If someone wants a black face im sure he would do 1k shipped for the head and papers.

You're killing me lately. You show me a Skyland.. little did I know they were not flooding the market. I want one on bracelet. furthermore..

    I miss RobbieG.

I want a gen SuperOceean, but I want the chrono. Those are pricey! Thanks for giving me good taste RWG. <_<

Im wiggling my ass; about poised to liquidate most gens and reps for a gen Skyland or Superocean Chrono.

And so what if my watchbox is more than half empty? Steven Segal smiley would approve.

  5. I would like to share my recent experience with a famous brand's watch service center.

I own a vintage Piaget automatic with a 18J movement, recently I took it to Mas Schweizer Swiss Watch Service in Australia to get it service and repair a stuck in the "second hand", this happened after I took a short trip to Hong Kong (seems it is the air trip caused the problem). It turns out, the repair center said they do not have the correct parts so they need to out source the repair, I asked whether they can send it back to Swiss main factory, they said they will consider it. At last, it turns out they send it to a NZ watchsmith, they changed my crown with a smilar parts (90% similar), I requested a refund or re-repair the dealer declined.

While 5 years ago, my vintage IWC also have similar problem, the local dealer, Watch of Swissland could not reapir it and sent it back to Swiss factory to do the repair with the correct parts. IWC Swiss end up charging me a crazy bill as they did some extra jobs that I did not request (as well as Australian custom charge me 10% duty for my own watch when shipping it back) but I am happy for the end result.

My vintage Piaget may not worth a million dollar, but it still worth a lot in many people's standard. If after I pay such a price I cannot enjoy a life time customer service, I will never buy that brand again.

It is not the problem of money, we love our watch because its workmanship, I never consider it as an investment. It is an artwork, what Piaget's dealer did is damaged their own piece of artwork.

My opinion is before you choice to buy a gen watch in a country, you better check the service center or dealer's reputation.

That is also the reason why I now switching to good rep watches like those from wm9 or BK, at least they care about their products and reputation, a nice rep watch is still a piece of fine art, worth our respect.

Sorry that I am quite upset on my "damaged" watch, so the post may be subjective :wounded1:

That is a shame. A boutique brand should take your watch in like a lost piece of family, pamper you, then stick you with a bill. Like a Four Seasons hotel. Piaget, eh? We may not be the biggest watch forum out there, but i'd recon that didnt help Piaget much. :whistling:

  6. Damn B.

    + =@ 'ing 1.

Everyone from the guy that just joined today, to me, to even someone like ByTor.. I think we're an ever-evolving bunch. I realized just today, 40mm has become too small. Months ago, I wanted a gen 11610 and wondered if Skyland was too big for my 7" wrist. Now its my attainable grail.

The thing is... the rep is so good, why bother? :o

There in lies the route of the problem with our hobby, if one had to be earmarked. :whistling:

  7. tell him to find your stuff (maybe he kept it, and would rather give it back than pay 450 eur) or to reimburse what you paid for it, otherwise you'll be forced to deal with UPS. Maybe you even know someone personally at the local news station that would love this story, you might tell him.

NEVER us UPS unless you have absolutely no choice. Use USPS only, for everything/anything. If UPS loses your stuff, your a rat in a maze, and you're not getting out. Just trust me on this.

  8. I bet your stomach dropped down to your nuts when you unwrapped that and your eyes hit that minute hand.

What I dont get is sending them back. They just drop ship another one, 50% chance or better that it comes back as bad or worse.

So, better get going on that TZ watch school. Gotta know what to do with that replacement minute hand you're going to receive in about two months.

The way I see it, we're basically assembling these watches in our living rooms ourselves, just like they do in guangzhou.

  9. I need some pics taken D. Is it a coincidence or did you purposely hide the infamous 3 o'clock lume. lol. Im glad you like it. On a side note Hont replied so the black steel super avenger will be here next week!!!! I really like how you put that alter ego part. I guess thats why i ordered one too.

We will do some pic taking, lets try to get together in the next week or so.

Ah, I wasn't exactly hiding the 3 o' clock lume from hell, but I certainly wasnt trying to magnify it under a lens either lol.

When we do your gen's, I suppose we wont have to worry about that, eh? :)

  10. Actually I considered the blacksteel version myself but decided that I prefer the standard one. But I actually prefer this one over the standard version with a strap. This is very sporty and I can totally understand the attraction. But it's the bracelet that does it for me, I'm a bracelet guy.

But then again this definitely a great replication and a great addition to any Breitling collection. Your pictures captured the coating perfectly. :good:

We have very similar taste, so i'm not surprised to be agreeing with you as usual. :) I too prefer bracelets, as well as the normal SS Skyland by a large margin. It's my favorite watch afterall. The rubber strap on the SS Skyland didn't do it for me, I always wound up putting the bracelet back on within a day or two.

The blacksteel is like an evil alter ego of my favorite watch. Its very fun to wear.
