  1. A few pics/comments on my latest.

I love my graphite V3 skyland and a chance to pick this up came along so I went with it. Rotor was a little noisy, I fixed that. It appears to be running a tad bit slow, and the minute counter at 12 counting in 2 min incriments instead of one. Thats 2 for 2, both 7750's I own arrived with problems. I bought in with the expectation that they would need full servicing, so I am not too concerned. I will adjust the regulator to see about getting better accuracy out of it.

Its a very nice watch. I prefer bracelets, but since I already own a regular Skyland I'm covered.

The coating seems very well done. On an indistinct inside corner of the straps buckle, I tried scratching it with a pin and it held up well. The finish and texture is excellent.

    Dial texture is nicely done

The case threads don't appear to have any damage from the caseback. More testimate to the coating strength.

Skyland Blacksteel. Different for me, and I like it!

  2. Nicely done. The Skyland reviews have been beaten to death, but each one can deliver another different take and perspective. With all the catalogs of older info, its good to have a fresh take on a watch that requires the homework of a professional hitman to pull the trigger on confidently.

There's so much about the Skyland that makes it more than the sum of all its clumsy parts. It wears smaller and humbler than a big shiny watch should. If I could get KB to click his heels 3 times and turn any one of my reps into a gen, i'd pick this one.

    Excellent photography! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  3. ha..

    haha!

    ahahaha!!

    BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!

I hope you like it, scratch that.. I know you're going to love it! Graphite V2?

Check those bezel screws. They aren't threaded. Should give way with a little twist, then will spin freely. Pop em out with a screwdriver on the side of the head. Dab some loc-tite gel superglue in each hole, then pop em back in.

pssst- I just got a blacksteel!

  4. wait, is this a gen or a rep? that 5, and 7 hour marker looks rough and the 15 date sits high in the date window? photo distortion?

The shots I took on the 15th were taken at 10 minutes before midnight, so the date wheel began to engage. If you look at the shots taken on the 16th, you'll see it centers fine.

The wavy pattern on the SMP dial has a lot of texture to it. Naturally, under the cameras magnification you can see the hour markers are imperfect where the two textures meet. Good eye! Gens aren't perfect, we are such a scrupulous bunch. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I had the whole SMP lineup out on the counter at the Omega store. My wife was ok with whatever I was to choose. The black SMP (as awesome as it is..) reminds me of a watch that wants to be a Submariner. The regular blue SMP never did it for me (I got tired of the rep almost immediately). I went back to Tourneau again, I was so gravitated to this pre-owned, electric blue quartz model. I like those big thick Luminova hour markers, and the bracelet from last years model better than the new one. A humble choice. A sweet lesson of this new beginning for me, where for the first time I have to think about someone more than myself. I am very lucky and spoiled. So I have this beautiful watch, and told my wife to spend the difference on whatever she wants...

A new coffee table is arriving Friday and the living and dining room is getting painted Saturday after we shop for one of those Persian area rugs to put under the coffee table.

  5. Got married March 6th. Honeymooned in NY. We stayed in the Four Seasons last week on 5th Ave. Argueably the greatest hotel in the greatest city in the world, we had such an amazing time!

I was very excited to see a Tourneau across the street from the hotel, and major watch companies on ever corner.

I was not there to buy watches, but I fell in love with this Electric Blue Seamaster, the price was right, so here it is!

The dial is mesmerizing, and the lume is on FIRE.

  6. One of the easiest ways to spot some of the UN reps, is the plaque on the side of the case being in gold. These plaques can easily be unscrewed and the gold plate sanded off.

Just make sure you know which color plaque is correct for your version, and it's an easy fix. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  7. This is my buddy I referred to RWG! We met when I noticed a really sharp gen he had been wearing around work. ;) Hopefully he shares some pics of these beauties!

Glad to see you got it man, you won't be disappointed, I cant wait to see it! MR is great, I was emailing him today myself. Great choice on both watch and dealer, exactly what I would've done. Next time I see you I'll be back from NYC with a new piece of jewlery myself... A ring. :)

  8. Another username giveaway. Big Nissan fan. Wish I had a GT-R, but I did have an SE-R with a bunch of nismo stuff! Currently running one of the new Altima Coupes with the 6spd VQ35.

I haven't taken any good pics of it or done much of anything to it, Ive been super busy. But Im sure i'll dig my teeth into it even just a bit. :)

  9. Can't go wrong with a well planned Ladies Rolex, or a ceramic J12, however the newest Tag Ladies are phenominal. My wife loves hers. See a pic/mini review here. Quartz is probably not such a bad thing for the ladies. Especially a starter watch to test the waters. Resetting the time/date on an auto causes lack of interest/wear at first.
