  1. Next step is to get a really great leather strap - looking for dark, brown, thick and slightly vintage looking (may go for the vintagising (sp?) mentioned above, would be intrigued how this is done and weather it reduces the life of the strap (I should imagine bleach could damage the stitching - having said that the straps look great when done, so if it means a shorter life, sobeit).

The process can be likened to frosting hair. There are harsh chemicals used, but it's washed, then given a cold water bath, and leather conditioners used afterwards. Your rep strap will live no less life than it normally would. Given the norm of being tossed in the garbage or your parts bin, or sold away on the boards for $10, i'd wager to say it'd actually be given a chance at life.

DSN straps are top of the rep quality chain. You might find it adequate enough to use (thats a generous statement). However, if I can't improve it, I won't touch it, and it'll be sent back no charge.

  2. You'll want a few options for your Pam. I offer strap vintagization services for the factory straps, for $20 you can put that current strap into rotation instead of throwing it away. It's a nice low cost strap to use. Here's some pics -

I would not have suggestions for a bracelet, however if you want a nice quality leather strap, I would have a look at savagestraps.com and strapculture.com. A nice strap will make a Pam, it's a must have!

  3. Josh is a good guy. Fair, straight shooter. I would like to see better quality control, and some discounts for returning customers and customers that provide a lot of referals. Having caught a lot of bad looks from friends that I referred to buy watches and they arrive broken, it makes me leary of doing it anymore. I'd pay for VIP treatment if I could find someone to provide it. Josh seems like he'd be in the best position to do so.

  4. Agrippa sent me a screw from Norway! RWG is incredible.. Admin team, too. Can't find a friendlier bunch of guys anywhere online.

Wheaton, it was you, thats right!!

Ubi, thanks again. :) Fits perfectly after micro-adjusting out one notch. You have small wrists my man!

I won a savage strap on RWI last week. The forums have been really good to me lately. It's a humbling feeling.

  5. I went to the mailbox and what do I find waiting for me? Why there lyes a package, and it is from Ubi!

I love getting packages. This package is special and wouldn't be photo worthy if it didn't include Ubi's famous marble countertop background style picture...

Man that adhesive they use to close the lid is sticky business. A padded envelope inside the box, Ubi's protective nature?

Amidst a thick wad of bubble wrap, I find a hard ticking nucleus. after a little more unwrapping.. Behold!

What started as me looking for ONE SCREW for a UN bracelet, turned into my friend Ubi sending me this awesome gift. We have so many generous members belonging to this great community, but this is the most feel-good experience I've had personally bestowed on me. It's one thing to have a friend give you a watch, but to get a watch you really like from a friend out of pure kindness? What can you say about that?

One of you guys posted a picture of your roman numeral MMC a while ago and It's been on my short list ever since.

The functional power reserve is a nice touch. The watch wears comfortably and has a classic handsome presence.

Not too long ago, Ubi posted his white faced MMD for sale. If you've been around RWG long enough, you know good deals don't last more than minutes sometimes. I was the first one to the thread, and was 99% ready to stake my claim, but I have taken in a few watches lately, and I'm getting married in a few weeks. Another watch wasn't in the cards. A minute or two later, the watch was claimed by another member. HackR, probably, that guy buys everything. Maybe Redwatch?

So was it fate? I don't know. I begged and pleaded with him not to send me a watch, but he held a E-gun to my head and tortured my home address out of me. I am very honored to have a gift bestowed upon me by one of, if not the coolest guy on the boards. Ubi, thank you is just not enough!

This is a watch that will never leave my personal collection. :drinks:

  6. Couple of months ago, I had a coworker that was going to buy a 21j noob or something off of me. After having it as his desk for a number of hours, he said "It gained a minute laying in such and such direction!". About 2 hours later, "Maybe it was just 30 seconds, Its upside down now and keeping perfect time". I never claimed a servicing, or +/- 5 a day. I told him to try another position, preferably one that would be easy to go ___ himself in!

  7. Picture 1 and picture 3 is the rep.. You have to buy a new bezel insert with the correct 10 dude..... Flaming giveaway biggrin.gif

Took me 2 secs flat to spot!
