  1. Thanks for being gracious enough to answer my question Robbie. Now. Teach me your ways. I am not too proud to beg! I agree, the SFSO's are definately amazing. Side by side, the quality is close to the gen. What dial color did you go with? Since you know I have no shame now, here's a shot of mine. Enjoy that YN, you have great taste!
  2. Meh... I guess i'd throw it on to mow the yard.
  3. That is extremely hot. After seeing you and your wife's gen today in posts, I have to ask, what do you guys do?
  4. So then, one can assume you just don't like the genuine Yacht-Master?
  5. Robertb- Your wife's a lucky lady.. and i'm referring to her watches btw! Scoobs is that your girlfriend? I dont see anything wrong with women wearing mens watches. bump, are the possibilities already exhausted?
  6. Thanks BT. I wanted to go for this. I started looking for one from the usual suspects. Something about the crown on the latest ones looks way off. Sticks out too far. What happened? The bezel/pearl quality seems to be a hit or miss, too. Good stuff so far, keep it coming!
  7. bump, i'd like to know the answer to this question, and any other opinions on the OP's subject as well.
  8. That is a watch to behold right there.
  9. I'd say 98% of this forum is made of up males, but all of us at one time or another have probably entertained the idea of getting the ladies in our lives a rep. This leads to a big question that is not easily answered: What are the best 3 reps available for women today, in your opinion? By best, i'm looking to sort out the best quality, the most desirable by women, availability, great right out of the box reps available today. So tell us what your top three choices would be if you were rep shopping for a lady. Feel free to add more than three if you are on a roll.
  10. Watched this movie last night. It was pretty much one non-stop action sequence. I've never seen so much red jello flying around in any other movie. Both me and the girlfriend enjoyed it. Love how he lives in a straw house, works his own metal, but has a $9,000 watch to sling around the mud.
  11. I doubt some 9 year old in the basement of a world of warcraft gold farming house can replicate that bezel. "Puk, can you grab the platinum for the atomic bombardment machine, Xie xie."
  12. Wow, this is like the rarest exceptional movie where it was so good, you watch it (read it) again! Thanks for this!
  13. Please don't be, we know it is just a compliment, no harm there! She set this whole thing up, took the pics, the whole 9 yards. I came home to a folder of these pics (on my pc) to share with you all. As are you D Money. You won't! But the possibilities for straps could be endless. HKTan distressed gnome @ss, my grail strap. Thanks Stephane
  14. Most of these guys here couldn't care less about waterproofing, yes? That being said, to some it matters. Summer is here in Florida! I want my rep dive watches to have good movements, good seals, and be able to take a d@mned dip with me! We all have our desires, and our reasons. Your best chances in my opinion, are to go with a SFSO ( breitling steelfish superocean), or a SSD (Rolex super sea-dweller) both of these reps are designed to be, and stated to be waterproof from the collectors. Casebacks are notorious for being loose upon arrival. If it is, unscrew it, check to make sure they put a gasket in your caseback, see if theres any grease (there should be). then tighten it down correctly. Never take your rep to an AD, but you can go to a jewlery fix-it place in the mall or whatever and have your watches waterproof tested, so you will know if they are (and to what degree) or arent without ruining the watch. Do some reading around here. My submariner and SFSO have come swimming with me more then once! I paid for waterproofing on my sub, but it failed a waterproofing test upon arrival, so it required some work to get where I wanted it to be. (collector more then made it up to me) Good luck! My SFSO My Sub
  15. sweet! c'mon SFSO go baby go baby go.
  16. Rob, "Time waits for no man." Although you certainly have improved it for many. kick back, relax, and disconnect from this! If you don't enjoy it, and you don't have to, don't do it anymore! Thats me shooting myself in the foot with you, because i've not got a single watch of mine to you in the year i've been here. So be it. You've taught me much. Thank you. Go's without saying, hope to see you (happily) back here.
  17. Same here. Titanium bracelet, watches! Weird. I occasionally wear 1/4ct square cut diamond studs in my ears, too. Not all the time though.
  18. Interesting. I saw a full page picture of him and Jen Aniston in People magazine, he was wearing a newman daytona. I made a thread a while ago about "unsupportive family and friends" some good replys were made- http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=48863&hl= It may take some time for them to understand, but if you love a hobby, and they love you, then middle ground will be reached. There will always be those people that constantly judge you, at the end of the day you have only yourself to answer to. Make sure your bills are paid first, please. My girlfriend wasn't fond of the hobby at first. I made twice the money when I started this, too. I wish I would've bought more when I had the chance. I've got the bug pretty bad lately. She saw me looking around online last night. We've been emailing each other at work today, and I said something about getting another watch, her reply? "Get a new one whenever you want loviepants, I know you want the Omega." Last night before bed I was making her see the lume on all my watches in the dark, after putting them under this high powered flashlight. She was guessing in the dark, just by the lume "thats the Panerai! thats they Breitling! easy, its the Tag... Hey, thats not a watch, what is that?! " It gets better. It sucks not being rich like I think a lot of our fellow members must be! Go buy gens you cheap bastards!
  19. Very nice Sulone. Have been wearing this decided to change back to the Oyster bracelet a few minutes ago-
  20. Split the customs loss? Thats garbage, completely unacceptable yes? Im really sorry UJ. Sucks to see someone with so much to contribute, come here, and get burned so bad you gotta break out the SSD cream. UJ, Do one watch at a time. You jumped head first into a halfway filled pool my friend. Kelster- I have a Ti case from Joshua... Still available per his site.
  21. I'm not going to harm anyone, I know that. I do not trust or feel safe in todays society. My country is in a recession that is borderlining on a depression. What if I see the end of the world in my lifetime? What if I have to rely solely on myself for survival? What if it comes down to my family, or the other guy thats trying to take from it? What if someone breaks into my home, how am I supposed to defend my family? Police? I'd rather be prepared for the worst and hope for the best. I'd rather have a tool and not need it then need a tool and not have it.
  22. Congrats! My guess is (hopefully) you were not wearing anything? I would hate to see that wristshot post-delivery
