  1. If the hands aren't touching anything it's probably caused by dirt or a lack of oil. My guess is that the balance caps are dirty or dry and are causing too much drag... If you don't know your way around movements bring it to your closest watchmaker or throw it away. Repairing a cheap 21j movement is a pain in the @ss and will probably cost more than the entire watch.
  2. Looks like a cheap $5 childs watch from Kmart. And I do mean that seiously!
  3. Not really my taste but thanks for taking the time to do a write up. Looks like a great daily beater.
  4. Thanks guys! Just what I was looking for, appreciate it.
  5. Stay away! The only dealer I ever started a PayPal dispute with. This guy has no moral standard!
  6. Thanks but I know how the 2892 movement looks. I just wanted to see it in one of our reps....
  7. Guys, I'm planning on buying a Bell & Ross from Trevor. He quotes that it runs on a 2892 movement so it made me curious on how the movement looks. Is it indeed the ETA 2892 clone (Sea-gull st18). So I started searching... and seraching...3 boards, a dozen dealer websites even Google Images and there is not a movement picture to be found. Why? Is it that hard to take the case apart? Is there anybody that can provide me a movement pic or guide me to a website that provides it? Much appreciated!

    eta 2824

It's a used movement which is probably in desperate need of service....
  9. Very cool! You really gave it some thought!
  10. You're kidding right. Off course it's not a pendulum. It's a decorated 6497

  14. I notice more and more members are changing their avatars on a regular base. In my honest opinion that is a real pity as a avatar is like a brand’s logo. It forms your (forum) identity for a great deal. Your avatar is the first thing members notice. A strong and differentiating avatar, along with regular contribution to the forum, improves your image. My Hypotheses is therefore: You pick 1 avatar and never change it as long as you're active on a board! My story: When I look at myself I use the same avatar ever since RWG1. The funny thing is a lot of people think I'm a dog lover or have boxers myself. My avatar was established by a Google image search some years back on the words 'funny dog'. I wanted a pic that made people smile. It had to be something completely ridiculous. I ended up picking the first pic that turned up because I was too focused on getting active on the board and finding some nice watches. I never liked the pic but as soon as I got really active on RWGI and was picking on the 'veteran status' changing it wasn't an option anymore for me. Therefore I'm Rolexman... a guy that loves Breiltings and Pams and hates boxer dogs
  15. at least they brushed the bezel...
  16. Lol. If you're in the EU and I can help shoot me a PM.
  17. Confirmed. PS: Please edit you caps in title post. Very annoying and not conform forum eitiquette.
  18. Cape Cod is the safest way to remove AR. You don't need heavy compunds as AR isn't that tough.
