How can anyone doubt that Chardonnay would go with Fish? THURSDAY Magagne sold me this wonderful TWB strap for Pix' IWC Porto. I canabalised the old rep buckle. Looks great. Merci Magagne! Man, even when I'm being surprisingly egalitarian, people laugh! I know what you're saying, TeeJay, but how are chavs different from any underclass in Britain, at any time? You think navvies in the 1800s wanted better, or behaved better? They were all DRUNK from the gin, and found "interesting" means of sustaining their lifestyle (bodysnatching for one, in the case of Burke & Hare, murdering their victims first). People forget just how bad living in London and the bigger towns in Britain was back then. Garotting and pickpocketting were as common to them, as the wanton cruelty by chavs is today. But I have been out of England too long. My like of chavs probably has to do with a rosier, homesick view I have, with my old homeland. FWIW, though apparently PG4TR is not interested in this model anymore, the white looks absolutely cheap and manky. But the blue is just fine. If you're REALLY concerned about having someone spot a rep, for pity's sake, DO NOT BUY HER A ROLEX OR TAG. Whenever I see a lady wearing a Tag Link, I automatically think, fake.

No expert am I, but I'll say the PO is gen, and the SMP is the rep. Pearl seems ever slightly tilted on the SMP, a common-enough fault.

Passed that early January. Same with the straps, only double that figure. I'd say a reasonably-sized collection for any rep watch owner is as follows: - 3 "Ultimate" or "Super" reps @$300-400+ a piece (uPO, SSD, MBWs, IWC Aquatimer, Fiddy, HBB Lite & Ultimate) - 2-4 top of the line 7750s etc. @ $200-300, just under the "Super Rep" category (Rolex DJ, loads of PAMs) - 2-3 cheapies, A21js @ $100-$150 (Vacherons, Pateks, cheaper Rolexes like Noobs, PAMs, fantasy watches) So basically, 7 to 10 watches. Factor in the modding, and that's a minimum haul of $3000 for a veteran collection. The tendency is less not more as time goes by, though, as tastes & expectations crystallise. In my case, I'm concentrating on the very cheap and the very expensive. I don't have $200-$300 watches anymore.

CC, I'm still working out my feelings after having read Rob's post. So when I clicked on yours, I said, oh not another one -- my heart sinking. Thank God, you will be back in April. That reply, Chuan, is correct (about PAMs in general). However, to answer your specific question about the DSN 005 -- it is apparently the only 005 in repland with a correctly slanting OP logo (the "mosca"). Unfortunately, it is also considered too large by knowledgeable members. However, this has ALWAYS been the deal-breaker for me, and I've never bought a 005 because of it. I can't take a badly slanting logo. I'll take an overlarge one, happily. DSN 005 Thread Here

In Russia alone, millions of people were slaughtered by Ivan the Terrible. Millions died in the marshes trying to build St. Petersburg, at the behest of Peter the Great. An estimated 10-20 million peasants died in the first Collectivisation of Russia by the Communists in the 1920s. That's not even counting the horror stories of Stalin, which came later. NONE of this can compare to the industrialised killing of Hitler and his henchmen. It was so evil, it was almost brilliant in its organisation.
