  1. Keen eye, b16a2! I see it now. Notice that on Mrs. Ramsay, she's wearing it with the tell-tale "hump" Breitling leather strap. Also, the Aspreys No. 8 Chrono doesn't QUITE look like the watch in the screenshots, as Fendushi said. In both cases, they look like replicas!
  2. Hehe. Thanks! Alas, Timbo, I'm almost sure there are none, and there will be none. Aspreys are like Harry Winston or Tiffanys -- elite jewellers. (In Aspreys case, they've had Royal Warrants from the Royal Family for over a century. Like Garrards) I agree with Stormtrooper. I'm impressed he made this choice. It shows a thinking-outside-the-box attitude to timepieces, than the self-same Breitlings, or fashionista Jacob & Cos his fellow celebs have. Also, thanks to FENDUSHI for the screengrabs!!
  3. You know I think you have flawless taste, Robert. You have probably my fave rep collection here. But this Parmigiani looks like a baseball! It reminds me of the bad reps of the Breitling Flying B. Samurai, TO ME, it looks fake. Parmigiani have very delicate details, and I have yet to see a good rep of one. I've had my eye on Trusty and Josh's site for a while, for one.
  4. Nice watch, great choice! Very conservative, proper, but a shade daring. I haven't decided yet, so I'll post on the Weekend Wristchecks.
  5. Ow, Lanikai! You're hurting me, I'm going to drop the Chivas!
  6. He's trustworthy, but the method is not. I've never heard of such a thing. I wouldn't repeat this kind of transaction again, UkMerc. No other dealer requests such a type of payment. It's PayPal, Moneygramme, Moneybookers, and Western Union, 99% of the time -- even if in the same country.
  7. About the Gucci Pantheon Diver Automatic 1,000 Feet (debuting at Basel/SIHH 2008): "Is that a knight carrying a briefcase and purse? Honestly."
  8. Little buddy! I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed hearing all your news. I hope you saw I was inquiring where you were the other day! Now I know why. Missing you, more later. :)

  9. Laz and Old Skool -- I emailed the guy about the sub buckles, and no reply. I was hoping Tootall might know.
  10. Between human beings and the rest, I'll choose human beings every time. Wow, I never took you for a Luddite, Dani. Ironically, you share the same opinion as Wahabbists.
  11. I Googled "Gordon Ramsay Timepiece" and found a link in the Rolexforums: hxxp://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=28157 One person suggested it was the "Asprey No. 8 chronograph". I think that's CLOSE. This is the Asprey's No. 8 Dual-Time. What do you think? The lugs are identical and straps are identical. Or maybe it IS the No. 8 Chronograph? ...like many husband's (hi FxrAndy!), he allows his missus to wear his watches. This is his wife Tana wearing the Breitling Aeromarine Chrono Avenger (correction).
  12. For me, this half-moon design is the clincher. GOD WHAT IS IT. Azimuth?? Alpina?? I'm taking out my 2008 Wristwatch Annual to search for it. EDIT: Dani, this is the closest Corum I found that matches. Don't think it is a Corum.
  13. Good memory, Slai! It was in my "Lidia Bastianich" thread which covered most telly celeb-chefs: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=354924 Here he is wearing I believe a BCE (doesn't seem to be the new one though):
  14. I'm on the phone AT THIS MOMENT with my fully-Italian speaking boyfriend. He says that's nuts. It's Panerista/Milanista/etc. for men! @Nembo: Grazie tanti! ...just to note, that's not my bf. He's an Interista.
  15. Pete, oh oh are you a Gobbo???
  16. I don't think I've ever heard that popularly. Maybe technically, yes? Ferraristo, Milanisto...ay, sounds awful. !! ROSSONERO PER SEMPRE !!
  17. Joann, just deleted this Panerai bit from the older thread. Here is my response (this might be moved to the Panerai section, so don't fear if you don't see it! Just ask Ztech. ) My DSN 113 on the OEM Tantalium strap. ...one more edit: Josh doesn't have the 049, but Trusty does! SPECS P049SW01 - PAM049 Luminor Marina Automatic 40mm - Asia 7750 $268.00 MOVEMENT: Asia 7750B1 Automatic CASE DIAMETER: 40mm THICKNESS: 12mm DIAL COLOR: White Dial CASE MATERIAL: Stainless Steel 316L BRACELET: Black Leather Band FRONT GLASS: Sapphire BACK GLASS: Solid Engraved Case Back BEZEL: Smooth Polished Bezel HACK MOVEMENT: Yes CLASP TYPE: Double Deployant Clasp DATE INDICATOR: At 3:00 position GMT HAND: OTHER REMARKS: Water Resistant (Yeah right) A 40mm PANERAI fit for a smaller wrist Sweeping seconds subdial at 9:00 GEN COMPARISON: -- At this point the real PAM experts should pipe up. Looks good to me though! P.S.: Don't like that strap at all. But then, I neither like SC straps, nor distressed/vintaged ones, so I'm biased. This OEM Jules Verne strap is much more my speed. That's my mum, BTW, modelling her rep Cartier La Do
  18. They won't, they won't. And neither will I. Welcome again, Joann! BTW, Aries, as I presume you are, and Leos (me) get along famously. My boyfriend is an Aries.
  19. EDIT: NO WAIT! It's 40mm. I was thinking of the 113, which I have. So there is your answer. (Moved rest of this post to "Decisions, Decisions") --> http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=69564
  20. P4GTR, you know how I'm all over the PAM and ladies' watches threads, but in this case, with 40mm PAMs I am a fish out of water. I wouldn't know where to begin, as I never ever considered a 40mm PAM rep, even when I was a newbie. Joann, take a look at my Wristchecks for the 44mm. I have a 5.7" wrist. 44mms don't look bad, trust me. I'm guessing you're busty but slight (like me). *g* This is the famous Simona (strapmaker) wearing her 049, which is also a 44mm. NOT BAD. It doesn't overwhelm her wrist at all. Light-coloured straps also help. What do you say? If you go with 40mm, I just wouldn't feel right in giving you info. However, you gots to go with what you feel is right, so enjoy!
  21. Hey Joann! Welcome to the forum, and glad you piped up. Sometimes I find it very lonely here, with only Rima (Rek001) as the co-female in the forum. Hope you can stay a while, and maybe, once you've bought your rep -- post it (them) in the Wristchecks!
