  1. And a DSN bracelet. You can tell by the 30 degree bent of the lug wings.
  2. You know when a man REALLY really likes watches? When he gives them as presents to his godchildren. http://www.elpais.com/articulo/economia/Ce...elpepueco_3/Tes That's the latest godson of Crown Prince Felipe showing off what his "padrino" gave him, for his First Communion. I'm fairly sure that's not a Panerai (that would've been funny!), but as you can see... ...Learn 'em young! P.S.: Damn. I only got some silver spoons for my First Communion. And a mother-of-pearl Bible! I wish I had royal godparents -- bet you the Queen would've given me a Fiddy.
  3. One of the few times, in fact, maybe only time I haven't shot Wristies on the same day, as posting them! Sorry. BUT, I have live ones tomorrow. MONDAY DSN PAM 112 which is "married" to my Mario Paci Senape strap. As Scoobs says, they shouldn't be separated! TUESDAY At one of those huge cinema multiplexes wearing my Narikaa HBB in YG, but this one has style. It sells capuccino and my favourite, doppio caffe latte!
  4. As they say in Sicily, "Augurio e figli maschi!". Congrats, really, V and once again, welcome back!! Some of us really missed your straps. Sniff.
  5. There you go, ladies and gentlemen! V is the real expert here. I'm just the Mickey Mouse Apprentice!
  6. V!!!! Welcome back!! I only just mentioned you longingly yesterday! Oh, you intellectual snob you. Yeah, I was copy-pasting the links, when suddenly my eyes pounced on him. I really gasped out loud and got goosepimples. Correct! I'm almost sure that it's another Manifatture Firenze strap, because of the stitch, the grain, and the lack of thickness (MF straps are around 3mm, not the usual Paci 5.5mm, etc.). I'm almost sure it's this: https://www.manifatturefirenze.it/home.php/...tcat/45/idart/8 Black calf leather strap with buckle (white stitch) Item Code: F2-212 EC Price : € 86.40 Extra EC Price : € 72.00* (~US$ 101) EDIT: OR... A1-212 Black calf leather strap (white stitch) Same strap, but in 24/22. I have that, for the Fiddy, and I have to say, I am VERY sweet on Manifatture Firenze straps. They are a little more comfortable to wear than Pacis...
  7. I will seriously wet myself if Bob Marley wore Panerai! Can he get more perfect?? Mnnnmmm. Dunno. Being totally honest here, I think it's ugly even with the SB ring. I think wearing bling on a Panerai is the male equivalent of wearing pink straps on a Fiddy for women. It can be construed incorrectly as a mere fashion statement, and IMHO, doesn't look good.
  8. EDIT: Check out Deltatahoe's June 2006 post, on precisely this -- Celebrities Wearing Panerai watches. Seems forum members like the topic. This post is inspired by TeeJay, yet again, and is an adjunct to his Orlando Bloom Fiddy post. Some photos of celebs follow. Guess the model! SYLVESTER STALLONE ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER T. GOTTSCHALK BILL CLINTON (what IS he wearing on the other wrist?? Is that a Navajo bracelet??) ROBIN WILLIAMS BORIS BECKER FLAVIO BRIATORE MICHAEL BALLACK PHIL COLLINS (!) DMX BRAD PITT RALF M
  9. MERCI DANKE THANK YOU Serdecznie dziękuję (yeah, I copy pasted)! Just checked Risti. OMG...he looks so wet in this photo. No wonder I don't like pretty boys. Looks like Titanium they said. I agree, but which? (They also said he was wearing the Cali, 249, on the cover of People magazine, so he's a definite goner, Panerai-wise)
  10. Inside, closest to the wrist. Also, now that you mention it, OEM Panerai straps also share this same look. Since it belonged to Philippe Bonay, it's a possibilty. However, OEM Fiddy straps start at U$350 in their boutique...the default one you get with the Fiddy in the original box is the "OEM Cashmere tan", if memory serves, though. So that points back to it being Manifatture Firenze's, not OEM.
  11. I have yet to watch this film, Elizabethtown! But if Sssurfer recommends it, how bad can it be? BTW, should Paneristi watch a cannon of films before, during and after owning Panerai watches? I propose a popcorn session in Shoutbox, when we all go to Blockbuster, and synchronise view on our DVDs: Daylight After the Sunset Elizabethtown Bridget Jones' Diary Eraser The Transporter (1 & 2) Gridiron Gang Chick flicks AND Di.ck flicks. Awesome!
  12. Thanks! "Orlando nicely scratched the case while filming! " ...yeah, well, at least it wasn't the sapphire crystal like me. (Not on the Fiddy though. I would've weed myself)
  13. From: http://jitteryjim.com/?page_id=432 This: Almost 100% sure it's: The grain of the leather, the distinctive reverse side, and most importantly the bluey-brown stitching all point to... MANIFATTURE FIRENZE HAMMERED BROWN LEATHER CALF WITH BROWN STITCHING! https://www.manifatturefirenze.it/home.php/...cat/46/idart/68 Item Code: A4-232 EC Price : € 76.80 Extra EC Price : € 64.00* (~US$ 90) SHIPPING RATES Italy Europe Rest of the World Standard Shipping 9 € 9 € 15 € Insured Express Shipping See Shipping Fees Table Cash on Delivery 12 €
  14. :clap2: I appreciate the frankness, TeeJay. There is NOTHING wrong with thinking that, as a kind of first reaction. It's when it's something more ingrained (male watch/female watch) that it then becomes a "problem". Apropos to women wearing Panerais: I suspect that there are a lot of men, even men here who said, "sure women should wear them!", who don't think we really should or that even the smaller Panerais look badly on us. But society tells them that's uncool and unliberal to say, so they keep it to themselves. And they would be right. *g* Seriously, it's a no-win situation in the West for men, and it's easy for women to make a man look like a caveman, in DBR's words, as a consequence. So knock yourselves out in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, but take care in London or LA. As for you becoming a Panerista, big time, I'll see you at Sssurfer's house for the Secret Initiation Ritual. Don't forget the rubber chicken!
  15. See? There's a man who speaks from "Cheaters" experience. I remember the episode.
  16. LOL! And to royalty no doubt. Fortunately my name or ID is very common. Apparently, I'm also a romance novelist and a filmmaker of Turkish documentaries. All of you who chose unique names, HAHA.
  17. Nah, dude, she's just East Asian.
  18. If you think she's a dude, check again. Could be wrong though. She's on Risti -- ring her up.
  19. What a strap! I'm half-way torn by being repulsed by it, and deeply attracted to it! A bit like my feelings towards Boris Johnson, actually. And oh, yeah, marry her. I wouldn't have been amused.
  20. Blimey, just Googled, and you're right! Wherever did I come up with him being Scots? Maybe the fact that my grandfather married a Scotswoman, and was partial to the people, and always mentioned "Dougie" and "Monty" together somehow melded the two in my mind. Sorry about that, and thanks for the correction! EDIT: Oh, maybe the name. Montgomery sounded Scots to my ears. My own surname is Norman-Irish, BTW, though I haven't a drop of Irish in me. There's always a reason, Phantom. Take Lord Mountbatten of Burma -- insufferably arrogant man (and a horrible snob). He was Queen Victoria's great-grandson, so the pulling up by the bootstraps sccenario doesn't apply. But his arrogance can date from the chip he carried on his shoulder, due to the shabby treatment doled out to his German-born father, who was sacked as First Sea Lord in WWI. Interestingly, he was sacked by none other than Winston Churchill himself, in a blatantly politically-expedient move, which cost Churchill A LOT of support within the Royal Family until 1939. So Lord Mountbatten made sure EVERYTHING he did was a kind of reflection on his father's legacy, though he wasn't coy about tooting his own horn, either. Both Field Marshal Montgomery and Lord Mountbatten went far, really far in their careers, for various reasons. Both were immensely talented men. And both were major a-holes. Again, just one more example of such people getting more glory than perhaps their attitudes deserve (in a perfect world). EDIT: Lord Mountbatten in Burma, wearing a watch his great-nephew, the Prince of Wales, wears today.
  21. May I say how impressed I have been by the public and private response via PMs, to this thread. It's garnered the most replies of any thread I've started. I see it's touched an interesting nerve with so many, and I'm very glad. Abakan, thanks for searching for that photo! I love them all, but I think that bottom row, first "Omega" watch is my fave. Vintage watches that can be worn today, are the best -- sheer timelessness (ironically enough).
  22. Ajoesmith explained about his avatar. Who is Trish? Sorry, I just know Jenna Jameson and slappers like that. Oh, and BTW, my other favourite avatar is Rolli's:
  23. It's a tough topic, Lanikai. Thanks for your perspective. Not sure elephants were ever on my radar, but I'll take what you said into consideration. Stingrays on the other hand...well, we have some unfinished Steve Irwin business, them and I.
