It's_Urubus, I don't want to be accused of milking a situation! I just wanted to lift members' spirits and separate the boobs, not put people on the rack. No one likes to bust up a good fight, but merely implant some good vibes. How on earth do we all get along on RWG??? It's a wonder, bra.

Guys, someone is going to end up being banned here. Not because of retaliation but because of half-uttered insinuations. What good would that do? TTK needs as many champions as he can on this forum, and losing one because they cannot accept the Moderating Team's fait accompli, is folly. Offshore had some good advice about Pamela Anderson's tatas. I swear, I'd get a webcam right now and show off me own, if we could just bleedin' well move on PLEASE.

V's "Elizabeth Taylor" strap on my 210. Awful. So embarrassed, when I posted it to the Wristies, I "filled in" the space.

I promised myself not to post again, but it's hard given the flow in the opinion-fest, as Narikaa put it. The specifics of the alleged threats will never be revealed by the Moderating Team, I think most of us agree. Thank God. We don't need to know. Then, for some, unless Mods do reveal them, it throws THEIR actions into disrepute: a kind of he-said-they-said sordid squabble. Come on, now. That's not logical. I'm sure there are emails/Skype messages that are available. Let's understand that this was a BUILDING situation, which culminated in desperate threats, as avenues started to close. There is an illness in the middle of this, that could go a long way into explaining these actions. But there's also a long history of similar actions on other boards, presumably levelled then in good health... The ban is in place. It's not going to change anytime soon. Fences have to be mended, in some cases, whole walls...fortunately, TTK is still available at the one rep watch forum which hasn't turned him out. Perhaps he can say a few words there, in his defence? Most of us here, are members there too, after all. And few not involved, I think, would pre-judge him without hearing his side of the story.

Point taken for the rest of us, but I'm guessing that Demon is a vegetarian. Me, I wear furs, I eat meat, I've shod my feet and wrists full of cow leather, I have hunted and shot game. In short, I've lived the life of an English country girl -- taught to respect nature, and never to treat any beast with wanton cruelty. Unfortunately, there are realities in life which some of us cannot reconcile. E.g.: I know many vegetarians who are pro-Abortion, in effect, considering the egg of a chicken to be more worthy of care than that of a human's. But that's another topic altogether...I only mention it to illustrate the point of human inconsistency. And shutting one's eyes when it's not convenient to our lives.

FRIDAY Well, people. I'm going on holiday soonish. Where to, I ain't sayin'! But I'll need this lot to keep me warm and stylish -- my DSN 112 on an ABP Black Python strap. Turn your wrist, and the sun catches it like a diamond. BEAUTY. Thank you, UB7, for the Spy Targa II goggles tip! SATURDAY What can be more British than a Barbour jacket, DSN 113 and Savage's British Tan strap? Bless! Arrr! Wow! SUNDAY What will I take? This Novatex gen is no match for my fake watches! I may not be a saint. But at least, I'm also not a... @Fendushi: Awesome FM! @Geeeyejo: Run! Lanikai is comin' for ya... @Fendushi below: Thanks for the extras & comments. Jakarta, eh? BTW, the very last shot is like a catalogue pic!

The best ebay item description for a watch ever.

LET'S CALL!! Star-67 first. @Rxus:  I don't care if you are a Truther, funny is funny! -
I wrote this above: @Mil_Sub: Hope you read my reply here. Trying to keep my posting down for tonight! Basically, the OEM honey red gator is unique. I think V would know better, but I have yet to find a really good mimic of this strap. I will research and let you know, though. -- Okay, I researched. Basically, I could only find SteveToronto's which came closest, the strapmaker known as Molina. Here is an example. I have this of his. And his Jules Verne look-a-like is actually VERY SIMILAR to the pricey JV (Molina Nubuck Gator, it's called). Go on, ask me how much his Wino Croc above cost me? $30. GIVE-AWAY PRICES! If you mean the one above, that's not mine. I don't have dark guy's arm hair! For info on contacting Molina, please PM. I think it's against the rules to give out emails (he doesn't have a site).

Stop the Presses! One of the coolest buckles I've ever seen (unfortunately, the guy who made it, SanDave, says it's sold out). That strap is SEXY. @Toots: Thanks for the info! My awkward sentence made it seem I was saying that about the buckle. But I meant the strap was sold out (when he posted the photo. Perhaps he has gotten more hide now).

I once said I'd never again post a reunion shot of all my straps (it brought me bad vibes). But here are a few of mine, just for you, Laz! These are a few minutes old -- I was losing the light, and couldn't find the only MX logo I have. I hope to have it surgically implanted in my Metta hide. REUNION SHOT The following are missing from the reunion photo. STRAPMASTERS SUB LOGO DINO ZEI STRAPMASTERS DIRK 5218-2 KAKTUS SWITZERLAND STRAPCULTURE SC LEGEND I PVD (Don't worry. I found the pin) DAVIDSEN "OEM" HOMMAGE BRUSHED REP "OEM" HOMMAGE These are in the reunion photo. Helps with the nickel allergies.

Passed to Customs - anything to worry about?
Victoria replied to paranoid's topic in General Discussion
Hey, I always say "Ah, bless" or "Bless". My septic friends tease me about it. Remember when Swemoose got a rock? Don't know why I mention that. It's just still really funny. -
Delicious.

I noticed he hasn't replied to Laz' buckle post, and he is ALL over those usually! (I am waiting for him to reply first, so as not to always answer posts immediately -- it's tiring to always see me as the first all the time, even to me. ) However, his wife is due ANY MINUTE. He may not be online, because of that. It's exciting days for him.

Hey, Asad. I saw your posts over you know where, and I meant to congratulate you on your gen! I feel V is the best one to answer this, since he posted pics of his special 249 recently. In the Search, one similar question was answered by you though! You answered that Davidsen (san) had the best unbranded 249s. FxrAndy suggested contacting Homer. Someone else said Vaccum does too (I heard they were pricey, however). I'm guessing these are used as a starting point to mod them as better Homages. I'm also getting interested in the 249, so this thread will be a good read.

Golden topic on the perfect beauty in watches
Victoria replied to Timepiece's topic in General Discussion
 First the report on the NATO straps, now this, Timepiece. You rock! PIN PIN! Let me just say that you "updated" the beauty, since I once saw a study about Fibonacci explaining why people were so attracted to Grace Kelly. To my mind, the most beautiful woman America has produced. Precisely what you mention -- it's mathematical! However, I once called Jessica Simpson that "dismal sharkface", and I'll stand by it. The Pateks, not so much. *still reading* EDIT: I was thinking about beauty, and the snipes about racism going around in the forum recently. Many people might be tempted to think, well, what's attractive to a white person, may not be to a Chinese, etc. True. But I believe no matter our personal preferences (round faces in China, big bottoms in Africa, big breasts in Europe), beauty is ABSOLUTE, IMHO. 3,000 years later, and Nefertiti is still a knock-out. I've no doubt Patek and IWC will be too. -
Dude, even the Tripoli treaty is there. Meh. I feel so...PWNED. Special Note: The WTF rating I gave elsewhere, about this same info above, no longer makes sense. The poster altered his words, without saying it was editted...his post came as a duplicate late correction, ending in "oops" and that annoyed me since I had already acknowledged pwnage. What can I say -- I'm human.

I've read all the posts since last night carefully. I'm most impressed by Andreww's, since I know TTK and he were and are good friends. I pride myself on being observant, and I had no idea that he and Pugwash were on the outs now. That's a shock. This suggests to me that TTK's ill-health goes way beyond what we have been told (blepharitis, glaucoma, diabetes). When you start burning bridges so badly, as Two Tone suggested, and Admin confirmed, there's something ELSE going on than just the usual personality troubles. Maybe, you know, members on RWG need to reach out to TTK, and PM him over at Repgeek. Tell him, maybe you never ordered anything, but if he needs to chat to someone on Skype (so as to spare his eyes from typing), you'd be delighted. He sounds like he needs support from the community which has been his life for almost a decade. And since RWG is his "home base", if you will, I'm sure a part of him he would never acknowledge, felt devastated at the ostracism. Believe me, for reasons I won't get into, I kinda know how he feels... Lastly, I'll leave the thread with these thoughts. Remember that massive response he gave in the Religion thread recently? TeeJay said there wasn't a rating available to cover that kind of reply. It was MAJESTIC. Here it is: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&...st&p=410035 Personally, never having ordered from him, thus never having spoken to him, that's how I'll remember TTK on RWG. A brilliant man, done in by his own failings. The world's oldest story.

Agreed. But we're members of the rep watch community. We know by now, what we're getting into with the PAMs. Overpriced 6497s with pretty details. But there comes a time when you say, basta. Tired of all the cack dials, tired of the floppy crown guards, tired of having to upgrade everything from lume to cannon pin to make it look half-way decent. Going into a Panerai shop blind, and not knowing what you're REALLY getting is one thing. But I want to feel what Golfman feels, at long last. The reps just ain't doing that anymore (if I'm being honest).

Vlydog has a 219, IIRC. The gen is going to cost 16% more -- the most of all the increases! What does that mean, do you reckon? Look at the 232, long touted as a sleeper in the gen community. It's 14% higher, whereas the white-hot 249 is at "only" 11.4% higher. Are we seeing the rise of the 232 at LAST?
-
Euro for Italy, yes. Hmm, wouldn't this only be true if you had a fund of Euro already in your possession? You still have to convert your USD to Euro to buy it there. Factor in the airfare, taxi, hotel, etc... Incidentally, I keep 1500 Euro in my home, in ready cash. Theoretically, I'm "saving" the conversation rate, if I use that for my gen purchase.

Don't have my 183/190 back yet, but I found the pics you wanted of the strap, Timepiece! This is a gen 190, on the OEM matte red honey gator. PURRFECT, like Cats said. Closeup of my OEM on the DSN 232: @Dluddy: I like the black shell cordovan one! I'll try it on the Europelli I have. Thanks!
-
T, I wondered why this didn't get a bigger response. Let's put the increase in visual style, lifted from elsewhere. Crap. My 111 will cost me USD 5,200. Don't want an used one for my FIRST PAM. That's a lot.

It's not that, Anton... I've seen that Dani has a great big heart for animals. He is aghast at any cruelty to them. But he acts with his heart, at times, not thinking all angles in a matter. When his Staffordshire pitbull breed was outlawed in his homeland, he thought that was a step too far. His own dog is as sweet as child. Couldn't hurt a fly. He also posted a website from a group against pitbulls, showing their hatred for the breed. He was disgusted people could think this way. Well, guess what? Dani, speaking to you now, since it's rude to constantly talk over your head -- apologies. The organisations and people you donate moneys too often hate pitbulls as a mega-violent breed of dog. If you questioned them closely, you would soon find that out. They'd probably confirm that they think it's odd someone who is against cruelty to dogs is an owner of a pitbull, bred for the greatest savageness. PETA (which I believe you don't like, Dani, right?) work hand-in-glove with activists who wish to outlaw pitbulls in the USA, e.g. That won't happen, because of the cultural traditions in place in this country. It's different in Norway. To the Norwegian government, potential violence is as awful as actual violence, such as the process of making meat halal. And pitbulls are potentially mega-violent, so out they go.
