  1. This story reminds me of when I was at the shoe dept. in Nordstroms and EVERY shoe salesman had a rolex on. I saw a seadweller, "vintage" GMT I, Sub (obviously), DJ, and someone had something that looked like a PAM from afar. Now, I can see if 1 had a gen, fine. But the 2 guys I asked about thier watches both said they were old. Problem is, the dweller had no holes and it was definitely not 20 years old like he said, and the GMTs lume looked like mustard paint. I'm not knocking them, that would be retarded, but it seems more likely that one of the salesman has an insider or is a member of one of these boards. These weren't junk but not real either.

Hey, the female shop assistants at my local Nordstrom's (Merrick Place in Coral Gables) also wear pricey watches. My mum said one older Cuban lady's gold Ebel obviously looked fake, but I dunno. Now that I buy my mother reps, she thinks everyone's watch is fake. :)

There are two watches that I doubt instantly are fakes in Miami -- Rolexes and Bvlgaris. I've heard stories of ladies holding the equivalent of Tupperware parties at their friends' homes, who deal in these low-end reps.

Given your description, llsteve80, I think you're right to doubt them. Again, I'm going more by their reaction than your description of their watches.

"Old" is just not a legit response, especially if both used it. It sounds vague and nervous.

CBR and the tyre guy went on the offense in their replies. Cocky, even. When you have truth on your side, it shows.

  2. There used to be a chat feature here, but it disappeared. Too bad too, because it was quite fun chatting with the members.

Jon, I almost gave you a WTF! :p

The Shoutbox is alive and well, used every day by loads of members. Did you perhaps disable it in your preferences? It should be in the front page -- eye-level as you log in. The guys and I tease people since they OFTEN confuse it with "Search Box".

Personally, I think it should be renamed "StripperBox".

  3. PAM 239 Chronopassion on MP4 for Monday

I've seen this Chronopassion before of course, but just to say Dluddy, that your strap collection is something I deeply admire. I have NEVER seen you put a FOOT WRONG in the choices.

Can't say the same about your sweaters though. :p

I was on the TC site perusing 22mm straps for the Fish today, and what new Giovanni e Figlio did I see?

    p455496057.jpg

That's a killer on the Chrono, La Bomba, or any Titanium PAM.

EDIT: Ooh, just found this Julien strap. Ditto.

    DSC_0186.jpg

@Hike: Exactly. You chose the Biscotto for your 253, right? I remember someone posted on that.

The "Marmi" Fumo above is more subtle. Delicate, just the ticket for the overbearing 47mms like the Slytech. The 253 needs to be jazzed up with a bluer thread, like this Landa has.

And look at the blued-sides! ARGH. I already bought 3 straps today. Should I get this one...I know, I'm one sick puppy.

  4. That dial is just screaming out buy me. Best of luck to everyone. I can even guess who the bidders will be. I suspect someone is willing to pay more than me as I do have The Zigmeister's fabulous dial. But there is only one way to find out.:)

I think Fleabay ***ing bidders' IDs is a good thing. That way, when we're bidding for something PAM-related, forum members won't be able to see exactly who it is -- and jack up the price. :p

All kidding aside, I wonder what happened? It smells like he got a private offer OR it was pulled because it wasn't a gen (and he got scared).

Given the unanimity of opinions here, I doubt it.

  5. Not sure what colour yours is, but if it's a white one, then it would definitely suit it!

    b16a2, you disappoint me!

Just kidding. :p ...I truly appreciate the reply, especially given your Breitling expertise.

Well, I suppose not everyone clicks on the Wristcheck threads (for shame, it's the best series on RWG). Here it is, on a Banda strap which Omega pointed the forum to, in this Monday's Wristies.

    breitlingsfsoemporioarmzg7.jpg

P.S.: Don't worry. I won't be posting these kinds of threads all the time, for the Fish (or any other non-PAM watch). E.g., if I buy a Big Pilot, I already know the strap will be black. :)

To make this thread talking point-worthy, let me just say that I'm disappointed with the strap selections for the Fish. Either men stick to the OEM straps, or just the SS bracelet.

All this weekend I was perusing Fleabay and ScAmazon, and found practically nothing for the SFSO. Just some pitiful Hadley-Romas, and Bob straps, of which I have the tan one coming.

If you have tips, please let me know!

  6. POLL IS CLOSED. I bought the strap! Thank you guys. :tu:

    p292997994.jpg

Unusual but elegant or too gaudy for my SFSO? Factor in that it's for me, not for you chaps. I have nicer nails. :p

TIA, guys. I'm in unchartered territory with the :fish:. EDIT: Made it into a poll.

  7. WJF1317.BA0572.jpg

Anyone making this rep? In Quartz hopefully? (most with diamonds I find are ETA)

PM Narikaa from whom I bought the non-diamond version. He MIGHT be able to source it (he's in the UK). Another possibility, is going to another board, and PMing Wackobirdkeeper at Repgeek.com. If it is out there in Quartz, he can surely get it.

When you do get it, DON'T FORGET TO TIGHTEN UP THE SCREWS! :p

    See here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=412021

I looked up Andrew, and he doesn't have it. Josh does have a variant but as you say, it's got Swiss ETA.

You're just going to have to bite the bullet, sunshine. ;)

  8. MONDAY

Another tasty Mediterranean dish -- my Fish from Feta1 wearing its new brown Banda racing strap. B)

    breitlingsfsoemporioarmio0.jpg

Thanks to member Omega for the strap tip! You like?

    breitlingsfsoemporioarmzg7.jpg

    TUESDAY

    Tara Reid wears one.

    tarareidneugd5.jpg

    Elle McPherson wears one.

    ellemcperson2qp8.jpg

And now, so do I! :tu:

    rolexdaytonagoldwristievx6.jpg

Okay, it's really my mum's. I prefer the SS white-dial, but I must say -- Silix' Rolex Daytonas are EXTRAORDINARY-looking for the price.

    rolexdaytonagoldharrodsar2.jpg

I even like the caseback! Though I know it's an instant tell. :p

    rolexdaytonagoldcasebacaz1.jpg

    @Kelster: Nice Wei

  9. Afbeelding002.jpg

MAGNIFICO. That or the 228 GMT are next for me. More more! :)

@Cronsell, Rolli: My two German admirers (well, at least of my 113/JV combo)! Thank you so much for your kind words. I wore the JV on 113 all weekend, and just now changed into the NATO.

@Mezz: Exactly. 6 months ago, I would've overlooked watches like Predfan's. Now my eyes bulge.

@Slai: Best shot in these Wristies! Brrr.

@AP Pete: I bumped FxrAndy's burgundy hide post for you, so please check it out. I'm fairly sure that is what Laz' strap is. :)

Guys, can you stand one more shot of the wonderlicious Jules Verne?

    oemjvkeepersva5.jpg

    :serenade:

  10. In the latest issue of Arena Magazine (Brit FHM) Daniel Craig is on the cover and he is clearly wearing the 45mm PO. Can't wait for the movie.

I'll say this for Daniel Craig striking such a Steve McQueen pose.

    Daniel%20Craig%20cover.jpg

Other men are overwhelmed by such a watch. But that Planet Ocean suits him down to the ground.

P.S.: The Thinking Man's Bond? I thought that was Dalton?

  11. I guess it's a male thing... Indeed, some women don't care, but, there are also some real 'Size Queens' out there who make a huge deal about only wanting Monster C0cks, ie 9", 10" and more etc... When guys hear about people like that, it's no wonder they can get complexes about size issues...

Why in the Sam Hill are men paying attention to hos?? Of course they need Fiddies. They're the size of Egizianos down there! :animal_rooster:

Okay, enough double-entendres. It's like a Benny Hill rerun.

  12. Well, you know what they say... When you're used to things being big... ;)

Why do men have such a fixation with size? Seriously. I don't get it. You must think it's important to yourselves, because women don't care!

Me, I love Fiddies. But a 6" Casio is plenty big for any woman. :o:lol:

  13. Ah, I wonder how Victoria's 183 looks on this recently purchased 27/22 of hers ?!

    Victoria, do you have pics?

    You read my (future) mind!

Thing is, TWP has my 183 and 190. Moment I receive them back, my OEM Red Gator will be on the 183. Stay tuned! :)

(Zeugmas are FANTASTIC. Did you choose English to browse the site?)

EDIT: Found one of my Zeugmas, very close in colour to the one you chose.

    zeugmabeachfv7.jpg

For the 190, I'm thinking this Zeugma blackie will be off the chain.

  14. Don't Canadians spell it Tyre instead of Tire?

I should really let a Canadian answer this, but that's never stopped me from putting my oar in before. :p

    No.

    canadian_tire_store.jpg

As a veteran of many a Hockey Night in Canada Saturday night, I can tell you, almost every telly advert is a Canadian Tire one. Sheesh.

They make it seem like Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and Disney World all joined together (the other telly adverts are all Tim Horton's).

@TeeJay: Soooo. Now we know why you REALLY wear reps. :o;)

@Predfan: Incredible -- they sell Omegas at Costco?? I should stop hanging around the Babel Tower-sized paper towels. BTW, I believe it. One of my condo porters wears a gen Sub. He got it at a pawn shop, but I told him where to get it serviced at an AD.

  15. My advice would be a Simona strap vintage tan 26/26mm.

Thats the one I use on my 183 and they match perfectly.

BTW - Victoria, what a lovely hand you have... The 183 also looks great despite I do not like the majority of Paci straps...

Thanks, Marco! I'll take any compliment you can lob at my hands. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

To illustrate your choice, here is a Simona Vintage Tan, below my LATEST PURCHASE! The Simona Anticata (I finally got it! EDIT: Not my photos. I meant, it's on its way).

    simtans001.jpg

    Great choice.

@Madasboot: Wow. Handsome guy, and great dress sense! Oh, and perfect strap too. ;)

  16. but i dunno, maybe his watch was a gen.. :)

Something about this man's snotty reaction, makes me think it's a gen.

"Well then it not the same one"

That's the remark of a guy in sure footing, probably who saved a lot to get that Sub, and is very very proud of the fact (it gives him a sense of superiority around his co-workers, I'm sure of it).

  17. BTW: I liked Victorias pictorial on the so called Jules Verne, but it might be too light.

    julesverne253ag6.jpg

No, I agree with that! It would be too light. :)

For the 183, I prefer the russet or dark burgundy colours, with gold thread. The dial POPS like you have no idea.

These are currently on the Risti Accessories Corner. Zeugma for $140.

    22.jpg

And I think this Strapmasters burgundy Sharky would be awesome. $85.

    IMG_1659.jpg

Let me know what you think. I myself used an OF Mario Paci, coloured like deep Chianti for it. Waterproof Cognac, it was called. It's sadly discontinued.

  18. I had a bit of an awkward exchange today with a front desk guy at Tires Plus today. He was wearing a 16610 sub. I immediately noticed it and studied it a bit while he was putting my order into the computer. It looked just like the one I bought from TTK for $80. Even the crown guards looked the same. I wasn't wearing mine. I told him, "nice watch". He said thanks. Then I couldn't resist, so I said I have the same one, but its not real. He then said to me annoyingly, "Well then it not the same one". I was surprised at the attitude so I said it looks the same and he said "yeah they make the fake ones look pretty real".

I love America. Where a shop clerk at a tyre place can wear a gen 16610. Try that in Morecambe.

(Ooh I just Pugged your nationality. Sorry if you are Canadian! I mean, Canamerican!)

I have to go pick up my car in about an hour. I'm going to wear my sub and show it to him if he's there and see the reaction. :bicycle:

    Dude.
