I'm glad Jsmith11 asked the question! This is important info right there. J, just tell Waccex of your problems. I think they will solve it -- really.
-
Thanks Hike! Since my workout outfits are all black or white, I think it'll be just fine. The negatives of the Casio are the really hard-to-read displays -- except in sunlight... @Slai: Thanks too! Did I tell you how much I love your Popeye photo?

It was "okay". As you said later, there was a certain tension in the film created by Smith, which held it along. (BTW, I have a thing not for zombie films, but for apocalyptic, NWO movies like Bladerunner, and Brazil...I'll see even bad films along those lines) I'm curious to see JJ Abrams' "Star Trek", the prequel, which comes out Christmas 2008. I think this film might've helped him to get his directorial bearings, since the Trekkies will be at his throat if he bums it up. @LordRasta: Ahhh, SPOILERS dude. ...I didn't read past the first sentence.
-
Just got off the phone with my boyfriend -- he saw it yesterday in Toronto. He also liked it, Lord Rasta & SD4000. Describing the film just now, it sounded like another Blair Witch Project with the shaky cam-work. At first, I wanted him to tell me the whole plot, but when he got to the rolling head bit, I told him, stop! I might want to see this. (He's a "normal" cinema fan, albeit he likes Indies and foreign films like me) Oh, and though he didn't stay for the end-credits, I hope you guys know that there is a message at the end.

Well, that's true enough. But you can't stop uninformed consumers from buying anything. Creating barriers for consumers is also not going to happen, nor should it. Not that you were saying otherwise Jack, but it's called a "free" market for a reason: free to make your own choices, good and lousy. @Jmt: No you aren't the only one! @Sql_PL & Corgi: "Agree"!!
-
Nah! Why wait to post regularly? Join in the fun. Have you seen the Wristies of gen forums? There's this one guy that posts photos of his one and only Panerai watch ALL THE TIME. Same shot too.
-
BTW, the reply by Narikaa was an RWG Classic. Now what we need is a cunning plan on how to get back at your chum. A cousin of mine once got back at his friend by setting him up with a tranny for a date.
-
Good question. And the answer is my Davidsen PAM 112.

What Sweatdogg and Raijor said!! BTW, I was GOING to write, what else is he going to try next -- but I didn't. I feared since the conversation was going South, that you might think I was trying to make you feel bad, or make you over-suspicious about your friend. But seriously, this is the kind of guy who steals girlfriends. Be careful, okay? Once you have cooled down, and your pride is less affected, you will see this forum cares about you. Not your friend, that's for sure. Fancy showing up a mate in front of others. @Armin followup: I think your Noob YM must be awesome, if other Noob YMs I've seen are anything to go on. As Sweatdogg says, you've been on the forum for a year -- you know the quality of your Noob IS NOT Canal St. So look your buddy in the eye next time, and say, "Oh yeah? You don't know a real Rolex from a vagina". Only I wouldn't say vagina. Good luck, Armin!

In honour of Slai's sexylicious pic, I present you with my new Casio Baby-G Shock! The three watches I'll be wearing: Rolex Air King from Silix. Hublot Big Bang Aspen from Narikaa. And mostly the Casio Baby-G from Amazon. I don't need a watch to work out, but maybe you are like me -- you NEED a watch on your wrist. Doesn't feel right, otherwise. Was saving this Wristcheck for Monday, but hey.

Wait, there is a miscommunication happening here, Armin. First, I apologise again for my tone. Sincerely. Second, what bothers you then, if you go around saying it's a rep? Certainly it's not the fact that you wear reps, or that if you tell people you do then the whole world will know about this forum. Clearly, you wouldn't care if people knew about RWG, right? Also, I'm not entirely sure you do care your buddy caught you in a lie. That's secondary, IMO. You're probably used to his yanking your chain, by now. You just want to know how much of a difference there is between a Noob YM and a cheapo $50 version. Right? "because if what he's saying is true i'd be better off getting it from canal st correct?" Hmm, don't pay attention to him. If it were By-Tor calling you out () that's one thing. But he's no expert. He is simply making you feel bad by saying it's worth $50, then $20. Why can't you see he's messing with your head?
-
Armin, we are ALL in your position. How can you think someone is truly flaming you? Come on, lad! In fact, you replied "omg not you too?!" to Pugwash. That's the guy who tells his co-workers he owns rep watches. So does FxrAndy, if memory serves. If he can't, why can't you? Or me? Because it takes a special kind of person to do that. Someone who doesn't care about what the rest of the world thinks about their rep watches. Not everyone is like that. I fear I am not, at least.
-
Hayul, no! No one has asked me, YET, but I fully intend to lie when asked if that lovely PAM 112 with the Senape strap I am wearing, is a gen. "YES! On a stack of Bibles, yes yes!!" But then, I will know I am telling an untruth. A lie. Un blague. Why? Because I'm a hypocrite. I want others to think I own a gen. It's only if one thinks one's super-modded, almost flawless, MBK marvel of repitude is uncalled-outtable, is when you're in trouble. That's what your friend went after. Not your watch, but your character. Anyway, good luck to you, Armin. The schoolmarm is going to post pics of her GEN Casio. @Armin: You are not being flamed! Okay, yes, it may sound like I am flaming you. But that's the nanny inside me. I apologise for the tone, but not the tactics. Again, I WANT YOU TO WIN. Not him. Capiche?
-
Armin, I'm not the bad guy here. I want YOU to win, not your scuzzy chum. You're my forum colleague after all! But come on now, it's a rep. The moment he said "this is a fake", you should've said, "yeah", right? Everything else is a detail. @Dee1: LOL! Love it. That just means we'll have to work harder to get a Lotus.
-
The bit where you didn't admit the watch is yours, and not your dad's AND that it's indeed a rep, even if it's not a cheapo $50. Ahh, the joys of being a guilty Catholic. Where the sin of commission is the same as the sin of omission. @Followup: Ah so it's $20 he's offering now, is it. He's seriously taking the Mick. And you're letting him. Ay, Armin.
-
In a way. But since I am spouting international sayings, there's another one in Portuguese: "Joga verde, para colher maduro", lit. throw unripe fruit, to collect ripe fruit. In other words, he wanted to see his friend's reaction, so he threw out a half-ar$ed guess, possibly based on some truth (I do believe he did "hold" a gen Rolex once. That bit sounds genuine. A liar would've said "seen"). He wasn't 100% sure until Armin reacted like he did, though. Now, he knows he was right and he also knows his friend lied to him. That's power.
-
Don't be daft, Arminvanbuuren. Examine your relationship with this guy, and before long, you will see he's done this to you before -- in other ways. Without the wee girlies being around.
-
Look, he's playing onemanship with you. He saw a cool, expensive watch on your wrist, and wanted to make sure you knew HE knew he could tell the difference between a fake and a gen. That is his way of evening the score, even subconsciously. The thing is, what he is saying is true. No matter how good the copy, people who have felt a gen Rolex know there is a difference in weight between the two. So first of all, Armin, get that out of your mind that you have the best copy out there. It's still a copy. This change in your perception will lead you to enjoy your rep watches more. No one again can make you feel like someone has just punched you in the gut. You know you have a rep, but lay people can't tell the difference. Use that knowledge to your advantage. If you act like it's a rep, and believe me, he saw it in your eyes and "went with it" to see your reaction, then it'll pour out of your sweat glands. And never forget the old Moroccan adage, "he who explains too much is guilty". I wouldn't like a "friend" like that around me, but then OTOH, you lied about your rep watch. Armin, it's even now.
-
There's another link in that post. The Big Watch Forum! Did you guys know about that? Nobody tells me anything. hxxp://www.network54.com/Forum/246576/ Thanks, Hike.

In the year you were gone, several "ultimate" watches have come out -- the Fiddy, the uPO, and a few IWCs. The pricey ceramics like HBBs even have lite versions which are very good. But even so, there would be resistance. Dear God. What IS this problem people have with businessmen making a profit?

Truer words were never spoken.

I love this shot. The matte of the RG looks stunning, DVN @Pix: Thanks! It's my fave pic of this series. (Can't wait for your review)
-
And you can talk to me about sports all day too! Seriously though -- I PMed Kokedose my compliments on his collection, already. I find him a kindered spirit, because he got the rep-bug fast and good. WTG, Koke! EDIT: My favourite photo: the gorgeous BCE. (My boyfriend doesn't log onto RWG anymore, but he also says, "They all look alike"...)

Hey don't knock Florida food, Fireman_Fred. Yummie! P.S.: Tastes like chicken. Seriously.

"Funny" rating. You know, they would get a kick out of that. Just invent a myth around rep watches, and ask them to bust it! Suggestions? *g* @Jfreeman: Right! Therefore the *g* for grin. Anyway, Adam and Jamie won't be happy with our myths, unless they get to blow stuff up!
