  1. Heh, I mentioned that 24/22 would be the most common, since that's the buckle size that comes with most reps (24/24 is becoming increasingly common). And that 115/75, though OEM size, is generally too small as average for guys. 125/75 was my suggestion. Thoughts? It's a big investment for Tourby. Best to get it right!
  2. YES!! I think that's covering GUM department store in Red Square, near the Lenin Mausoleum. I haven't been this happy about the transfiguration of Russia into a maniacally tacky consumerist mecca since seeing this photo: Hope they have Narikaa's number (& Bergie's).
  3. LOL! I remember telling Slai that his photo was the coolest I had ever seen. (He was in an airport terminal awaiting his flight) He said he didn't think his fellow passengers thought so, since he kept taking photos of his wrist. How many shots on average do you guys take, for the Wristchecks? Me, about 5 per "composition". 1-2-3. I don't take long. @Shundi: Aww, man, I feel bad now. You're right. BUT the fact is we're not used to it, clothingwise, and our homes are not well-insulated! The first thought I had was, what happens to the homeless during a rare SoFla cold night...
  4. It's one of those brands that you've heard of, but never really paid attention to -- well, I didn't in Japan! The dual coffeemaker shipped out today. Will take a wristshot with my first cup o'Joe from the Zoji. P.S.: You really are in love with your wife's country, Ajoesmith. That's beautiful to see! @Doc Savage: Whoa. Good idea. This remote is REALLY cool. I'm searching for anything in my home that needs a remote, just to be able to use it. ...you know, Doc, you and I are scarily similar in tastes. Hmm.
  5. Narikaa is exactly the chap you should be talking to -- his Richard Lange models are the closest to gen, since Langes are NOTORIOUSLY tricky to replicate correctly. Here is a recent thread on my (dad's) Lange1 Zeitzone. You might find it profitable, if you haven't already. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=368121 (I do have a link I was given privately, if you're interested. I believe it's frowned upon to post non-forum dealers details, so just PM if you want!)
  6. It'll be here any moment. I'll let you know in this thread, when it arrives! You know the prezzies I received for Christmas are just "hitting" now. I got a new DVD-Recorder Monday, the Gaggia machine arrived on Saturday, the Zojirushi Drip Dual comes any day, but THIS BABY arrived today, the Logitech Harmony 880 remote: I'm in love. (I'm such a gadgets girl)
  7. Already received one compliment about it, on RWI. I love to point out straps that I like -- but this came as a surprise even to me. Beautiful, Golfman! This and the Crazy Horse are my faves, of yours. Nah, it's not broken-in yet (I wish!). This is brand-new. I had earlier bought an used Havanna Drifter that didn't have your patina. It was just yucky. It also smelt of men's cheap cologne. Like the kind some guys use to go clubbing.
  8. Hopefully this year (005 or 111). First my car in January. And collecting IS a neurosis. Especially if you're already barmy.
  9. Really nice watch! Is this your first rep?
  10. WEDNESDAY Starting off the New Year with two straps I NEVER thought I'd combine or have. My Andrew PAM 177h on a Kaktus Havanna Drifter strap. A GORGEOUS brown. Oh, and that's my Rotring Skynn fountain pen. Comfy and avant-garde. South Florida is in the 50Fs/10Cs and it'll be in the 30Fs/0Cs tomorrow. Brrrr!! But look at that sun and sky! THURSDAY Here's the "TeeJay" shot: the TWP PAM 210 on the Caoutchouc Rubber Diver strap. Looks like a Moon Landing.
  11. I was going to say -- this is a potential blow for all North Americans who wish their watches modded! Because, and I say this with embarrassment because I am not the type to rag on the French (I love France), but La Poste sucks. They steal more packages than any other national mail carriers I've ever seen. Especially stay away from posting packages from and to: PTT Paris Champs-Elys
  12. I knew you'd LOVE it! I think I posted a Wristcheck when you were away... I got it on Risti from IIRC, some Swedish guy who was selling it for $200 (new). I bargained him down to $170. It had the original OEM baggie from the Firenze shop.
  13. I think he was factoring in the C$, but if not, wow, good point! Having a little stone house in Normandie or Bretagne is definitely the way to go. It's cooler for one, in summer. As for the language, yes, but remember that French-Canadians get a lot of stick from the snobby Parigots. If there is a child involved, factor in the school teasing adjustment on that alone. Mind you, it could be worse, in terms of teasing. They could be Belgian.........
  14. Barbosas congrats!! It looks beautiful. Yes, the crown guard has the dimple. A visual trick, but I noticed the same thing. Wow, that's a new one!! I ran to my DSN 112, and it is okay. Whew. Good! BTW, you have good taste in straps. *g* Big, thick, chunky, SOFT as butter Savage strap, that DOES look like rubber actually.
  15. This is the most expensive city I ever LIVED in, not visited. That continues to be Oslo... Paris wasn't in Tokyo's level, because you can find a lot of bargains in the banlieus. If people don't mind safety concerns, you can even do your shopping by hopping off Bobigny/Pablo Picasso in the Metro...I found shops there that were cheaper than anything in London's East End. 80k per annum in Paris makes you an upper-middle-class person, something tied to education not income, oftentimes, anyway. If people want to live in a nice Parisian neighbourhood, my choice is Le Marais (III/IVe). I survived there comfortably, with all the mod-coms, and I didn't earn anywhere CLOSE to 80k Euro. Some sites: (US-centric, but has facts on taxes, etc.) http://www.internationalliving.com/countries/france (Canadians Abroad) http://www.canuckabroad.com/forums (Moving to France made Easy) http://gofrance.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsi...-made-easy.com/ (Canadian links, such as "Canadians in France" a club for expats) http://paris.angloinfo.com/af/549/paris-ca...nformation.html
  16. I did leave you a followup in my original reply, as is my wont in posts these days to keep replies down, but then I thought -- maybe s/he won't see it. So just for the record, I don't like that TC croc strap at_all. Looks cheap, comparatively. However, the followup posts suggest you might be in search of strap suggestions for your PAM 111h in general, yes? You might then be interested in a series of 4 threads I did, recently. The Great Panerai Strap Caper 1-4 http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=45437 http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=307794 http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=311874 http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=317203 I did a Bob blue shark, but no crocs. If I take it up again, I'll bear the frequent requests of gator/croc straps in mind. (I also passed a rather embarrassing number in terms of straps; I believe I have 200 as of last Saturday...that one was an OEM Bordeaux Glossy Gator, 24/22, in fact. It's stunning. When it arrives, I'll post pics. This is what it is supposed to look like)
  17. PAM 111h Twins from Andrew/Trusty -- Identical Twins (L to R: DSN SS Bracelet, PAV 90) TWP PAM 217 and DSN PAM 127 -- Fraternal Twins (L to R: Zeugma #187, OEM Bordeaux "The Orlando Bloom")
  18. OH! This reminds me. You won't believe this, but I have found a way to merge Ajoesmith's Electric Tootbrush thread, with my Coffeemaker one. The crema is fantastic in my Gaggia Evolution (not as great as that above), but you need to clean it with a Pallo, such as this: It's less than $10 on ScAmazon, but then there's shipping and the WAIT...no thanks. So I just hunted down my old $5 Oral-B Cross Action electric toothbrush, and wallah! Only on RWG.
  19. Hmm, dunno about that 50% special, but then I haven't bought a strap from TC for a fortnight. A member just posted his horny croc (heh) strap: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=65136 Is that the one? I bought it for a friend, and it's fantastic. Looks good on Titanium PAMs too. This is member Bazz' photo of his bony croc (hope he doesn't mind me posting this): And mine in black: I think crocs are the way to go, to look smart with PAMs. @Silvia below: Yeah, I've seen that TC croc before. Don't like. Looks cheap.
  20. I took a Wristie but I'm saving it for tomorrow. TBH, it looks w.ank. But if these shots can be of service to your chum and to others, so much the better! My pleasure indeed. Point of interest: this strap seems to be a very rare 26/22 size. Usually they're 26/26 or 26/24. @TeeJay: I only mention the size because you said you have 24mm buckles mostly? So if it doesn't come with one, you might be stuck in gifting him it. Also, I'm glad it's 26/22 since that produces the right amount of "taper" the Radiomirs REALLY should have -- they look more elegant than with a chunky 26/26.
  21. TWP PAM 210 with Caoutchouc-style Rubber Diver strap: (Sorry for the delay! It was raining most of today, hence the darkness of the shots)
  22. "Error executing child request for Default.aspx." Child request?
  23. http://timeconnection.biz/Merchant2/mercha...roduct_Count=25 $168.88 However, I got it when it was still listed at $179, so TC must've discounted it. It comes infrequently under the Daily Specials. It's beautiful...I have the black version, bought from Rolli here. @Tourby: It is not high! It's okay. I myself would only pay up to $89 for one. ...but now that I know you sell them, since I receive a LOT of PMs about croc/gator straps, I will tell them to PM you, Tourby.
  24. Pizza-Man! This is beautiful! Unintentionally, you have also given a member a sneak peak at what his 111h or his other PAMs will look like, as he is getting this strap. Thanks so much for posting this. I bought a few items from TC, but missed out on this strap for me.
