GEN Zenith El Primero - Possibly for Sale soon...
Victoria replied to Jaymoi's topic in General Discussion
That's such a popular and covetted watch that I don't think you'll have probs shifting it, Moi. There is a competitor on the board, on sale. It's the chrono version, however: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=60482 Lovely watch. Hope to see pics of "yours" soon, if only for the eyecandy! -
Ahh, loved it/gostei demais, Barbosas! Just a question -- something wrong with the strap? Let's see that lovely PAM a-hugging your wrist.
-
TWP speaketh wisely. My "Ultimate" DSN 112.

LOL, yes, I can see that point actually! The counterfeiters gave it that good ole college try, but it's just not the same thing with such a marvel of mechanics that is the Lange marque. In many ways, it would be easier to "swallow" a Patek Sky Moon Tourbillon rep, which I also have, and which I'll post a pictorial review maybe next week -- not because it's not as intricate. But Patek is the sine qua non of taste. Lange is another level of appreciation and complexity. It's got that cold German touch that allows you to admire it, without becoming soppy about it. That's a great thing. Anyway, thanks for the honesty.

does any 1 has any info on this type of watch ?
Victoria replied to 2005SUBMARINER's topic in Other Brands Area
Nothing about the movement, but here is some background: I always thought Zodiac watches were a slightly better version of Nixon watches (aimed to the skater, snowboarding crowd), but apparently they have some vintage ones. I doubt there are vintage Nixons yet. http://www.vintagezodiacs.com/ http://www.vintagezodiacs.com/Articles/News.htm Excerpt (Fossil own them): " -
Robert, that's the one Doug mentioned! Cool, thanks! I'd love to own that watch... The reason I used to not to be interested in rep watches, is that I thought it was only about Rolexes. Well, it turns out it's about a few other marques than that. But STILL these kinds of watches like Lange, Blancpain, Piaget, even Parmigiana, are not all that repped. That's a real shame.

Made my first straps... excited but i need your opinion!
Victoria replied to esdee's topic in My Collection
FxrAndy, you're too honest is what. You posted that first strap seconds after you finished it, and it was your first attempt. Mine would've looked even more manky! But I would've posted the third. I was comparing the 007/008 straps the other day. Esdee, that was one of the best things FxrAndy ever thought of -- giving limited edition numbers to each. If they're just for you, cool. But if they're for others, that or another cool touch, would be awesome. -

Victoria replied to esdee's topic in My Collection
Phenomenal, Esdee! You know you have a customer in me, whenever you need. As for the thread, go with what Tallkenny suggested. Darker shade will make that second strap pop out. However, I rather like the look of it, as is. -
Does AR on a watch always emit a colored tint?
Victoria replied to Jawo's topic in General Discussion
Oh dear...sorry about that, Jawo. Demonslayer recently asked a similar question, which Sssurfer, Chieftang and other experts chimed in with loads of info on AR. Here's the thread. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&...st&p=364123 -
Eddhead, I did say there were lingering issues at play here, and you didn't understand then. I think you understand now. But listen, let's work on this thread's purpose! The discussion is over, it's done, Christmas is upon us, and people are on edge. It's often the case during "Peace on Earth" time. Oddly enough. I am going to scout around some gen forums for ideas. Often what they ask, is what newbies ask too. Meanwhile, this isn't "my" thread. Anyone absolutely can add to it. It's an informal roundup of facts about rep watch "tells" which can be of use especially to newcomers to the forum. Hope that makes the purpose clearer.
-
... Etc. DBR, your olive branches resemble grenades. I'm moving on now. Ciao. Guys, just woke up, but I'll be back to the thread with some input later. Thanks to the people who PMed with ideas, and what not.

No problems, Alant. You know these threads draw me like honey. Uniball is itself the brand you should ask for, in say, Pearl's (I go to Pearl's, an arts-and-crafts chain in the US, to get all my refills). Medium Uniball (rollerball). It helps if you take your pen and have the attendant change it for you. They may have a spare open package, and you won't have to pay to do so. Worked for me, anyway.

I am referring to another thread, one of many which targetted me today, Two-Tone. I think you know which one that is -- the one where out of the blue I was attacked by another member in what is a lingering matter which they cannot let go in their minds. I find it bizarre that after all we've gone through in this past week, trying to put the festering remnants of that odious thread behind us, that this should happen now, Two-Tone. In the morning, when I have come back, I hope to do so without these CONSTANT sniping posts about me, which obviously leave me fatigued and demoralised. But not vanquished. Should that sound arrogant, it's only because I'm in bunker mode after all the gratuitous shelling today. Fortunately, 20 men out of 8000 members do not a hatred make. If anyone wants to shake my hand, peacefully, you'll find my hand the first to be outstretched. If not, there's nothing I can do.

These long, meandering, incoherent rambles of yours are absurd. God only knows what you hope to accomplish by this -- once again, I am not leaving, so your paragraphs full of ellipses are as naught. I think men like to see fights. But I don't fight. I will not address one syllable of anything non-rep watch related you address to me, Lanikai. Once again, please stop your obsessing over what I post, and add to the forum as best you can, if you truly wish it well. Good night.
-
Members are already under warning far more senior than you are, Lanikai. Please understand I am not leaving so stop criping, stop obsessing, stop bullying. STOP IT. I beg of you. If you have a problem, press Ignore. Life is uncommonly problem-free when you do. Now, if you don't mind, this thread is a Guide "of sorts" to help people out. In the morning, I will be adding on to it.

Gen Mont Blanc refills sometimes do not fit the rep pens. I wrote this in my "Pen in Pics" review, when I first got Narikaa's MBs: "For those interested, each of the rollerball pens in this review uses a Medium Mont Blanc 710 refill cartridge. Given the other members' complaints about refills not fitting rep pens, I'd use caution though. I believe a Uniball medium fit most of the rollerballs." Try that, Alant. Good luck!

Yeah, he's not doing too well, I heard. I'm not shy, but something has prevented me from sending him a get well-PM. Thanks for the semantic point deciphering. Good call. Smaller dial it is. I have tonnes of relatives in the general area where Lange have their headquarters. Heard the 'museum' is phenomenal. A swing-by is in order.

No dealer here isn't without his faults. Davidsen can be temperamental (he's an artist, as much as an engineer), and his QC has suffered of late, but he's working on that he said. We'll see. I may have two orders soon, with him, and then I can compare. PM him at Davidsenjpn. The million dollar question! If you could, Mike, do a search string with "Great Panerai Strap Caper". Before I stopped, due to family issues, I had 5 installments of some good strap ideas. The 111 is the most versatile of all the PAMs, save the 112 (my favourite). You can throw WHATEVER strap you buy, and it'll play. Check out the Daily Specials in this place: http://timeconnection.biz/page/timeco/CTGY/Special

Victoria replied to zmankillian's topic in The Rolex Area
Of course not. You're sharing, dude. That's what makes this place great! I couldn't be happier for you, if I had bought them myself. And I will, I will. Please post wristchecks, of the ones you keep! -
Thanks, HikeUSA! (Nice ID, BTW) Nahhh. Unless by "pro" you mean...still nahhh. My Sony does all the work for me. I do regulate some of the settings, but it's 90% the Carl Zeiss lens at work.
-
Stunning...I'm not much for Daytonas, though I can appreciate their worth, but this is phenomenal. BTW, how do you get your FleaBay links to work, when others can't? That's the second time I notice that, POTR.
-
I love the nice and tight shots, but this is my favourite. There's something about a deployant that just adds a "gen" feeling to a rep watch.
-
It seems that some members cannot access the Wiki thread, according to a few posts mentioned to me today. Could it be it's only available to RWG Supporters, Cornerstone? Because this is the purpose of this thread, to give newbies a quick guide on spotting tells in reps, in turn encouraging them perhaps to upgrade -- though its purpose is fast leaving it. BTW, no handbags from me. Ironically, for the only voluble lady on the board.
-
That was a civil and sensible request. I think you'll find the next message won't be from me, but it'll say much the same thing. Thanks for understanding.
-
Kindly don't thread crap anymore on this thread. If you have nothing to add to it, which may be of help or interest to others, don't add to it at all. Thanks.
