Almost missed this, as I shut down the comp. http://www.internationalwatchman.com/home.html Both Doc-Bearcat and TWP recommend that site. Speak to Ron, and tell them about those two gentlemen. It's usually off-limits to non-retailers. Specifically: http://www.internationalwatchman.com/sport.html "Breitling Leather MSRP $19.95 Our Price $6.00" $6? Please. Today that's highway robbery. Good luck, Arty!

I read you went to an AD, but when I held a gen Yachtie in my hands, it more closely resembled what you have above. More "champagne" than silvery-sparkly. It did sparkle though.

These shots take literally 15 minutes to shoot, since I have the sequence down to a science. You can tell by the time lapse on the watches. I discussed my camera in last week's SOTTWW. It does all the work for me. Highly recommended camera, Bruce. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&...st&p=366903 Thanks for the compliment! -
Louis Vuitton 'beaten' in norwegian court

Understood, but when I said innovation, I meant it. There are a lot of things still to be invented, imagined, discovered. Westerners have absolutely pwned the East in the past 500 years. It's time for a little payback. How about starting with hydrogen fuel cells which will make petroleum obsolete? That's something which an ORIGINAL mind can come up with, not one which can hire Westerners to do 90% of the mental gymnastics for them. They can surely do it. So, we wait. But something tells me it's going to be a Westerner who cracks that, and there we go again. Like the internet, the newest world-stupefying innovation will come from us. It's boring. -

Because humans like innovation too much. If they could, they would. In Med School, there used to be a saying: biology departments around the world are filled with old Jewish men imparting knowledge to young Chinese women. You'll note, it's not the other way around. It never is. We had a similar conversation on RWI. In fact, it was one of the deeper threads in that forum. I seem to recall telling you that this "hire western industrial design team" STILL means they cannot come up with original ideas without prompting from western minds. Why, I wonder? They're not dumb, for chrissakes. Much on the contrary. The Japanese tried to beat us at our own game, and they came damn close. But some car makes, Sony, and wowza electronics later, and they're not close to being as dominant as they were predicted to have been, in the 80s. Could be. It's also a quick fix. First get the money, then start the innovation. That's my hope, anyway. Err, okay. Thank God you said it, because from my lips it would've sounded arrogant. Doesn't make it any less right though. -
My favourite. Looks like a glow worm on top of a lilly pad. Gorgeous.

Are you being ironic or trying to pry the snobbish from their under rocks? I cannot believe this is the fisherman's son who hates the rich suburbanites of Oslo, talking! As I said, I too have conflicting views actually rather similar to yours. Many angles to the views, at that. 1- I don't like Chinese people or whatever people just copying stuff or backwards engineering goods, rather than coming up with their own ideas. It's intellectually stunting for them, and they will never catch up to the West like this. 2- OTOH, I like blue collar folk being able to have a dream and being able to own a "piece of the pie". Why not indeed. 3- I hate copyright infringement and intellectual property theft, even if I download mp3s, etc. There's something unsporting about it that bugs me. If the international community REALLY cracked down on piracy, I'd be okay with that. 4- I like beating the system. It's a conflicting topic, Ape. -
MONDAY Wake up! There are only 15 days left to Christmas! Suitably shocked, please enjoy my new Savage Albion strap on the Andrew PAM 113. You think you've seen the strap before? Close. This below was custom-made. TUESDAY Guys seemed to like the Nantucket watch, so I'm busting out another pink watch, this time, the Salmon MOP Rolex Datejust. I have a light blue DJ coming, just like Nigella Lawson's. That's Kate Winslet's lips, below, though. A lot of you guys in the 3 forums have PMed me asking for shots of this watch. Hope you can show it to your ladies and see if they like it for Christmas. Maybe less bling?

If it does, there'll be a stampede by men everywhere for it. Kinda like that Danish law that has State-provided prostitutes for paraplegics. Heard wheelchair sales went up 1000%.

Have you tried to re-register? Because at one point, it was by membership invitation only, after August.

Cad.

Clockwise, mostly (if you concentrate on her head. If you concentrate on her legs, anti-clockwise). And yes, I get "it".

The second one. But as you say, the others look as if the cannon pin wasn't done at all. It could be a reflection though. What do you think of the width of the crown itself? Nice and fat, I think, but too much? Kiki, overall and especially with your strap, it's beautiful!

Bee Movie is awesome, Ken. You chose well last night. And I believe your nipper will adore "Enchanted". It upturns all the traditional soapy Disney fairytales on their head, and yet not. She'll love it, if you can find it. (Oh, conscious that not all parents like films with violent scenes, FYI, this has a scary-ish last scene with a dragon, played appropriately by Susan Sarandon)

Interesting. I'm not an aural person, but a visual one, so I don't usually notice soundtracks. Nice! Thank you so much. I haven't but my local rental shop carries it. Not much into Westerns, and I must've been one of the few people this year that thought the "3:10 to Yuma" remake was not worth the hype, so I gave The Prop a pass. Having said that, TWP's original mention of "The Assassination of Jesse James..." was something I dearly wanted to see. Don't miss "The Waitress" and "Lars and the Real Girl", Dani. P.S.: Can't believe the Times. http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol...icle2953767.ece Amongst their 5-star rated films of 2007: Bobby Bridge to Terabithia Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus Oceans 13 Sicko Miss Potter In order, mediocre, depressing, boring, you've got to be kidding me, sickening, and syrupy. Yikes.

Are you a 'classic' watch person, or a 'modern' enthusiast?
Victoria replied to mezzanine's topic in General Discussion
It's so beautiful, and my own Metta Catharina was so messed up, that I actually purchased another last night which V is aware of. All due to his photos, and the heads up of the ever generous K2222. As featured in one of the Wristchecks, we (mum and me share it) have the J12 Superleggera bought from a member here. This particular black ceramic J12 is very beefy. If you can, make sure she wears it beforehand. I think the white one will suit most ladies a little better. The white one IS growing on us, though we always said never to the J12s because every woman I know, has one. Because Panerai lines are like a woman's lines. Shapely. They are Sophia Loren's figure complimenting Marcello Mastroianni's machismo. -
SADLY no. Neither he nor his cadaverous sister, Maria Beth

No one in America likes this guy, so that's why w2w's post (not a bitter one by any means!) to our American cousins raised a smile. Didn't watch it. Haven't opened the Sunday papers. Please tell me Ricky won... UPDATE: Oh. :akuma: Well, at least people got their money's worth. http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jcyNIpI...DDenbAD8TE03H00

I was going to go with one of Die Fantastischen Vier, to make you guys laugh at a hip-hop group from Stuttgart. But I'll go with this one. Dedicated to Cleobis. He'll know why.

Correct, my Prince. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/no_country_for_old_men/ One of the most unanimously highest-rated films I've seen there, ever. I think only "Pan's Labyrinth" (which I found exceptional) received more. PRE-POST EDIT: Nope. Same 96%. Interestingly, the "Cream of the Crop" film reviewers -- the elite movie critics -- gave it 89% positive. That's more like it.

Are you a 'classic' watch person, or a 'modern' enthusiast?
Victoria replied to mezzanine's topic in General Discussion
Classic for a lady means traditionally Cartier and Rolex DJs. Modern these days means ceramic watches like the J12 (and Technomarines, of which there are scant few reps). My tastes had a strange evolution. When young, classic. As I grow older, more avant garde. Just before finding reps, I had bought a Nixon watch monstrosity which looks like an aluminium fridge from planet Mongo. I still like modernist lines, but I'm back to the classics save for Panerai. But then Panerai is a strange blend of the art deco and oversized modern. It's a marque whose time has come.
