Lovely article. Thanks so much. Gorgeous. Although Marie Antoinette never actually held these, IIRC, you can see this pocketwatch is fit for a queen. These days, Queens and Princesses are much more discrete. Here's the present Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and the future Queen Mary of Denmark. The Crown Princess is wearing a watch I have -- the comparatively humble Cartier Tank Fran

So my dentist says. Yes. I was a hard bristle girl until two years ago when I finally caved into modernity. I used to mildly scoff at people for being rather lazy when using these -- but then I realised I have a microwave oven and an automatic car. Research it carefully on e-opinion before buying yours, Ajoesmith, but I have the Sonicare 7551 (I think that's right. I threw away the packaging). It's packed with extra goodies seen below, which will come in handy since you have to change the heads AT LEAST every 6 months -- heads are expensive if bought separately. I change them every month, for sanitary reasons. It's programmable, although it defaults to about "4 cycles" of cleaning, separated for each quadrant of your mouth. You hear a little buzz-sound change, which means move on to the top, bottom, etc. A full-overnight charge lasts you 2-3 weeks, depending if you're maniacal about brushing your teeth after every meal, as I am. That's invaluable if you're travelling to a foreign country, and don't want to lug around big adapters for it. On the front, you will see green LEDs which turn progressively yellow to let you know how much of a charge you have. Brilliant. Yes, it's pricey, but it should last you for years. Mine looks mint and it's been the world over.

I need ladies watch recommendations... Quick!
Victoria replied to juicy's topic in General Discussion
Quick! To the Batcave! Ladies Watches: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&...st&p=366887 You really have to give us much more info than you did, but a suggestion I am taking out of my keister is a MOP Rolex in ladies size (25mm). They have it with bling or without. Ladies don't wear teency, spaghetti watches anymore, so even if she has tiny wrists, be sure she actually wants that. Ask member Carlsbadrolex about giving one's wife a watch she doesn't want, one day. -
Dude, this is awesome. Thank you for expending the energy to post these wonderful shots. It makes me WANT ONE SO BADLY, you have no idea. That's an Europelli baseball strap with white stitching, and I think perhaps an OF Paci or Paci IX on the 113? Or another Europelli, perhaps oiled down? Whichever, they are perfect. *drool* @Golfman: Your wristcheck is gorgeous, but what happened to that mod business? I tried to Search "005 Golfman" but I just came up with your SS allergy (which I recently got, so thanks inadvertently for that thread!). Joshua unfortunately is not an option, as I like to have it modded out of the box, but thanks so much for the heads up! @Inmotion: Thanks. ...you're a great guy, and I hope that 112 works still.

Mid Week Wrist Check (12-13th of Dec, 2007)
Victoria replied to By-Tor's topic in General Discussion
Wow, a fresh wristcheck from By-Tor! And I see the new windowsill too! @Dluddy: Love it, you're so proud of that thing, I can tell. My own Wristchecks, if they happen, will be later Wednesday. -
I also once saw a guy choking his chicken in Hackney.

Brent, love the brown with cream stitching. Let me have first crack at it, should you make more, please.

Help me choose the one to Keep- Updated with Pics Resized
Victoria replied to brsmith1's topic in The Rolex Area
Good God, I just remembered that thread of yours in the Introduction area. You have my deepest apologies, and hope I've been a little more helpful than I was in those replies to you. I was clearly mistaken then and you were right. If a Moderator can upgrade his membership, please, I think you'll find Brsmith1 has been waiting a very long time, patiently, for his upgrade. I know you're all overworked, so thanks guys! -
Not being a vegetarian, I can't say that, V. I love a juicy prime rib. I also wear leather (on my Panerai straps, for example). So to say that would make me hypocritical. But I will say that unnecessary cruelty to animals is disgusting. I once saw a guy beating his burro in the mountains of Bolivia. I just cried, because even if I had remonstrated with him he would've kept on doing it after I left. People close to the land often behave like this.

Help me choose the one to Keep- Updated with Pics Resized
Victoria replied to brsmith1's topic in The Rolex Area
That's funny. Brsmith1 will know why. The crown in the other one just looks massive. It would bug me but the other details are important too. -
Thanks for the replies, Red and ZD. I have loved it ever since I saw it somewhere else -- even before the one worn by b12a6, with vanilla Bob strap, which I loved so much I got two straps. Davidsen had one C3 model which looked like the Hulk. Guys like lume, you see. One of the RWI members posted a pic of a GEN 005, and clearly you see the markers shouldn't be this green. Now that you mention it, ZainoDetail, either it's a lighting problem or you're bang on. Thanks!

A long-time order I had with a collector is just not going to happen, I've figured out. So I'll order that watch from Mr. Davidsen. It's the famous 005, which has the problem in all the reps of having the "mosca" (the logo) slanted the wrong way. But Davidsen's is correct, though I've read there are other problems -- it's too big, for one. What do you think? It comes with C1 lume. It did have C3 lume, at one point, but the markers were too green and I believe that's not correct anyway. The 005 is the one watch I really covetted when I started this Panerai love affair. I'll get the 232 later.

Those make me a little nervous for some reason. But good idea. I once asked why RWG didn't have more raffles, and I was told watches were donations from collectors. Both RWI and Repgeeks have frequent raffles, though; in fact, currently having one now at each site. It really makes things more exciting and cosy because of it. That would be my suggestion.

Breguet Type XX Ref 3800. Aeronale Flyback Chronograph
Victoria replied to dluddy's topic in Other Brands Area
That's incredible! I only just linked to this post in another Breguet thread yesterday to Ericw: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&...st&p=370725 Suddenly Angus posts the exact same watch today? Well, to answer your question Dluddy -- the black one looks phenomenal but do you want the 7750 movement for US$328 not including shipping? @X: Quite so. It really is all up to each person, about how much they want this rep watch. -
It used to be U$30, but last time I saw it was in Euros now (30 Euro). And it lasts you a full year. In your "My controls" area you will see your subscription info, including expiration date. George is a cool guy but with his own view of the world. I quite like him. UPDATE: Hmm. Just this last week, I checked it and it gave me the expiration date and everything. Just now it says to contact the Administrator. "Please contact a member of the administrative team for details on how to upgrade your membership." It was under "Purchase Paid Subscriptions", towards the bottom under Options. So, jj69, contact any of the Mods for info. UPDATE 12:32 AM: The section is back to normal for me now. "Details of the package that you are currently subscribed to." Starts with a member ID, start date, end date, what you paid, etc.

He's just been very busy these days. It's usually not full, so just keep trying. Don't let a momentary thing stop ya. Been trying to reach him myself, so I just sent an email instead. Another suggestion. It's awesome that you want to contribute though!

Start-Of-The-Week Wristcheck (10-11 Dec 2007)
Victoria replied to Victoria's topic in General Discussion
Great to meet you, Janice. Why not PM me any questions you'd like, and I'll be sure to help you out. As Christmas approaches, as I said above, it's going to be difficult to find the extra time for my beloved hobby, but I'll always check my Inbox. -
Breguet Chrono/Calender/Moon Phase question...
Victoria replied to ericw's topic in Other Brands Area
Hey Eric. I see where you say it looks fairly accurate, but I went to the Breguet site just now, to compare -- couldn't see the watch on which this rep was inspired by. However, that means nothing because they can't place all the watches under their label. I did find this one: hxxp://watchismo.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html And this one, the Classique Grande Complication 1869, which comes closest to the one you picture from Trusty: From here: hxxp://www.gemnation.com/watches/Breguet-Classique-Grande-Complication-1869.html Looks nice overall, but just not sure if there's a gen equivalent. Maybe Narikaa knows more about these (I got my 1801 from him). P.S.: Dluddy posted this a while ago about the Breguet Type XX Ref 3800. Aeronale Flyback Chronograph. Yours resembles it a bit. So far, no rep of it. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...&hl=breguet -
Hey Bjornhulst, wassup. I have found that if you don't EXACTLY mention things to Davidsen, he'll send you potluck. So if you want something specific, like colour of straps, texture of straps (buffalo etc.), plus to go over with a list of details you feel are very important (engraving on bridges if any, crown guard tight), it's VERY VERY important to do so with DSN. It's not too late. I would send him an email before he sends the PAM 111h out to you, probably very soon indeed. Check out RCHK's threads in this Panerai subforum to see what MIGHT happen, if not. Happened to me too. Reference: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=54015 Good luck though!

The other two were Calatravas, I know it! (If only other people were as good sports as you, Narikaa)

Wow, I almost missed this post. V, beautiful watch, truly. It's exactly what I wanted, yet another eerie coincidence between you and me. For a change of pace, the second one. But not sure you saw Simona is having a (pre-made) Christmas strap sale? hxxp://www.network54.com/Forum/353393/thread/1196974723/last-1197151962/Closing+for+a+month%2C+Christmas+sale%2C+special+prices She's closing down for a month, so those of you who like her straps, take advantage. I bought this strap for the 249 I plan to get one day: I know you like reddish straps, as I do!, but this would love lovely with your new Cali-type dial. If not, the Vacchetta Anticata is phenomenal:

Oh Narikaa. I'm so sorry the client who ordered this died before you got your funds, and left you holding the baby. Sucks, dude.

Start-Of-The-Week Wristcheck (10-11 Dec 2007)
Victoria replied to Victoria's topic in General Discussion
Heh, no worries, Scoobs. You have an honest way of saying that that doesn't sound too sexist. Anyway, I know you appreciate a lot of the watches I show, and I am grateful for all the gracious comments! BTW, speaking of conservative, I was going to go to the Republican Presidential Candidates' Debate held last night at the University of Miami, but couldn't get tickets. It was in the Spanish-language for Univision, so you can imagine, all of Miami wanted to go there. My hope was to wear one of the Panerai and sit near a camera. If you guys spotted it, you spotted it. If not...well, next time maybe. @Interested1956: Can't wait to see your watches! BTW, as Christmas comes closer, I'll be much more busy, but the Wristchecks I'll always do. @Interested1956: Not too sure you're aware of this, but your postings sometimes appear with a quote and no reply. -
My other solution was going to be Skippy peanut butter. Try that and give us a shout if it works.
