You'll get to that thread eventually. And it will be worth every belly laugh, believe you me.

Hey TMG, take lots of pics, yes? You may not be swimming with the sharkies in Madagascar, but I for one miss shots like Stephane's holiday snaps outside shark tanks. Wam regads, Victoria

I'll knock down any man who says the SAS are pansies!! ...and then run like hell. Seriously, very interesting this. Will read up on it. Jennifer Mrs. Ben Frikkin Affleck Garner?? Good God. No wonder she kicked terrorist butt in The Kingdom. Me, I did Tae Kwondo at school, and started kickboxing before an untimely skiing accident which broke my leg, put an end to that... And do you know how difficult it is to casually recycle Muay Thai shorts as daily shorts in SoBe? Hard, my friend, hard.

The first thing I can think of, SD, is that I wonder if you know any of my cousins doing their Dienst. Never fear giving me too much information. I specialise in that. It looks Titanium! Somehow.

The rep of choice for sporty types, I see. Hey cool. I also used to do Habitat for Humanity work. In fact, the first time I went to help out, shortly after Hurricane Andrew, I deliberated very carefully what watch to wear. I was fairly young, so I didn't have MANY choices back then. But one instinctively knows not to wear a Rolex DJ to such outtings... (I bought myself a Swatch, which survived the hammering and painting) You what? Good God. Another action man, I love it! Well this thread is proving enlightening. I wonder what Rima uses for her sporting activities? I have a decent shot at having the same kind of watches as she does, since I don't know from Railmaster.

Pam Slob Project Pvd Aged Bronze - 2nd Step Manufacturing
Victoria replied to rolli's topic in The Panerai Area
Always a pleasure to hear from you, too, Rolli. (And moreover, to see you posting on RWG!) Wow, that sounds ominously high-priced. I confess, I am not a fan of PVD PAMs (I have mentioned that I think they would look TOO masculine on me). But your version has a slight...refinity perhaps...that is very sexy. -
Psst. Don't worry, Tnakasaki. May I also preempt any future post of yours, asking why it's taking so long, why doesn't the message change, etc. Not to be nasty, but rather to help you. When you're a newbie, especially when you are ordering the first few watches, one tends to obsess about these details. Don't. It will just elevante your pressure. EMS is notoriously unreliable, and often we are wearing our watches when EMS still says it's stuck in "Guangzhou Depot". Since you're from Hawaii (aloha, mahalo, Don Ho, Lanikai!), use the USPS website instead. It's SLIGHTLY more accurate. Remember that any delivery from China, or the Far East is minimum normally 7 days. It's a miracle to get it before that, and a blessing within 2 weeks. Only at 1 month should you start to worry (though that doesn't mean you can't apprise the collector you brought it from, as a heads up). So, relax a tad, and enjoy the wait. It's the best part of the junky-addiction to rep watches.

Psst. Guys. A small word about why I include the person from whom I purchased each watch, in my intro to each Wristcheck. I get a large number of PMs per day asking where I got this or that watch. Just now, a member asked about a watch featured here. I do know a lot of people do read the intros (at least some said they do, on Repgeeks ), but obviously not all do. EDIT: Not that that's a problem! This is a visual thread, after all. So, if you're interested in the LV or Alain, or my PAMs, just PM or email the collector involved. Of course, I am more than happy to answer any questions via PM, watch, strap-related, or anything. Despite being a very bad correspondent.

Watup, Deep1! You're the textbook newbie poster. Looked long and hard before piping up. Unlike some people I could mention. Seriously though, welcome!

Good to know about the 111. This seems like the watch of choice for me, in future aerobic activity. I WOULD do the 177, since being Ti it is lighter on the wrist. But I only have one of those...
-
That's beautiful. As you know, I love that strap. But I would look like Martina Navratilova with that thing on, playing tennis. I AM surprised that you wear it for such a purpose. I thought chrono and major wrist-activity, a nono.

Hey Seadweller. Are you and the handsome FxrAndy Army mates? Hadn't dawned on me, 'til now. G-Shock...the choice of all military personnel, seemingly. BTW, I'm Googling DM51. Fortunately, the MG3 I know. Stonemariner. Nymphomariner. Bunnymariner. Anymore?

Sorry if I missed an Admin newsflash, but whatever happened to the Star ratings, not on each post, but on each member profile? I was about to give 5 Stars to a member, who I'm fairly sure is too new to have been rated as yet, when I noticed rating with stars is gone. Oh and when I went to TRC right now, following up on the Happy Anniversary thread I started, I see they have a "Warning" icon -- with percentage in case you fall afoul of their standards. I love how each forum offers something the others don't. Repgeeks with their Medals section (I think we had a Newbie Poster Award which Jiro got, but that's all I've ever seen on here). RWI USED to have a very handy member trade rating. Might come back after the software changeover is complete, perhaps. RWG has the member map, and the post ratings. Something for everyone.

I love these pics. My fave is actually the last one -- which you just posted as a three-fer in your Wristcheck today! That bronze PVD is fantastic... -
Oh nonono, that's not what I meant in posting it (rather to give you a link where you can see some replies to your question, in case of interest). He says now.

Oh hey. I buy my books at Costco too! Single malt whisky. Pride of Scotland. Queen Mum lived to 101 on it and betting the ponies. There we go! Full circle. She wore Longines. I knew our schtick would eventually hit paydirt.
-
You can't fool me, Nanuq. I've seen what your axe can do!

Obviously then, you must have a winder? You have the older Omega SMP which was quartz, I know, but the others all need some TLC. YEAH RIGHT. A few minutes. You just wait until you have a wider selection, my friend, which you will quite soon. Those minutes will turn into half-hours. Emily will be right snarky. I liked your Wristcheck today! You sleep with your watch on?? Even I don't do that. I'm scared of scratching or drooling on them. Oops, TMI. Sorry. ...what am I talking about? This is the guy who answered in the famous "Do you wear your watch during Sex?" thread.

"new" rep site? Anyone bought there before?
Victoria replied to llsteve80's topic in General Discussion
Try Silix. He's got $40-60 bargains. Oh and I know why you went there. First thing I checked were the Lange 1s. Nada. In fact, the whole site was extraordinarily suspicious. From misspellings (always raises a red flag when marques are misspelt. Even Paul doesn't do that), to the fact that the watch varieties are deceptively written out. You would click on say, Franck Muller (33), and instead of 33 models, as indicated, there would be 4. This screams scam site to me. Actually very savvy, in a low-end kind of way. Instead of Globalreplica ripping people off for $800 for Italian movements, a quickie scam site would do better to lure people in with very small pricetags, and then beat it. I see POTR already says they're gone baby gone...hmm. -
All Grandmaothers enjoy a bit of Laphroaig. I know my Scots grannie swore by it. Like a sailor.

I just bought myself...the exact same phone I've had for two years, a Nokia. I hate change, but I DO admit I was tempted by the iPhone. But in the US, they're tied to T-Mobile, I believe. I had heard this had been unlocked, but since I wouldn't know how to do this, I demurred. Is this review based on the iPhone finally being more common in the UK and/or Europe, or purely because you bought it? I know about the GSM "problem". UPDATE: Ah, right. A quick Google revealed that 02 debuted the iPhone in the UK this past Friday. Sales were brisker than thought. Yay.
-
Ahh, you mean she was Irish? Good call. You can't mess that.

Aww...what is it with grandparents and Longines? http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&...st&p=304639 P.S.: Your writer's strike rejoinder has me giggling every time I think of it.
