  1. Wow, what an awesome combo! There's usually a theme to every Wristcheck. This weekend -- 111s/112s. @TeeJay: Well, stop looking for your perfect PAM match. Gore-gee-us. BTW, there's a thread on Risti where a chap is sending out his 111 for PVD'ing. Yours is G, yes, but I think his was later. Wow, I don't think I could have the balls to send out a gen PAM to get a PVD coat... @Maxmilian: Congrats! Serving out one's two week notice can't be easy. Be sure not to blub at the farewell party. @Tazz: @V: I love your 112 with that strap! Can you make me one???? @Centurion: Ooh, lovely. But like Dluddy's pic, too small too appreciate like it should be. Larger?
  2. Psst. Comedy sketch and all, please enlighten, Desuetude -- to me South Shore means somewhere near Blackpool. The first Google hit says it's near Boston, and known as the Irish Riviera. To me, this guy seems Italian-American from Longuyland. You know, the trademarked jerky-looking-around movements, the overuse of copulary adjectives and style of "party" clothes. Also, if he's nouveau riche, I'm Tony Soprano.
  3. Well, Jawo. So long as you don't look like this character, wearing his Teslar.
  4. That crown seems perfection itself, Dluddy, made dreamlike by the photographic haze.
  5. FRIDAY I really went AWOL in the MidWeek Wristchecks, so I'm making it up for the Weekend ones, BIG TIME. Get ready for a cornocupia of shots! My PAM 118 from RWG member, CzarCzar on my new custom-made Micah Pale Rider strap, with brown stitch. (First photo: Mum wearing her Tag Heuer Link. Also shown, just a small part of my Kiehl's collection. LOTION QUEEN!) SATURDAY Sometimes you have to go legit, even with a rep. Here's my adored DSN 112 on an OEM Black Calf with an OEM PAM buckle. (Also shown: My new Tiffany & Co silver money clip from RWG member, Maxmsu. Gen Louis Vuitton shades) SUNDAY My newest watch, a fantasy skeletonised Alain Silberstein bought from RWG member, Waxon Waxoff. FUGLEEE! But I never met a cheap watch I didn't like. ...HAGWE!
  6. Corgi, imagine if we shared a household? We would have to Brinks Security even my knickers.
  7. Wow, Ironmarshal! You had the exact same reaction as I did, when we were talking of how many watches we had. I posted this question, "How much are Your Reps Worth...if they were Gens?", at that time. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=53924 I conjectured that it's pretty easy for any of us to have $10,000 worth of reps, if they were gen watches. However, someone on another forum mistook my particular question. They thought WE each thought that's how much the watches were worth. In my case, as I said back then, it would be an obscene total of dollars. For starters, both Corgi and I have the Patek Sky Moon which sells for $1.5m. So add that to the total of rep watches I revealed earlier...well, my neighbours must think I'm stinking rich. There's a larf...
  8. Surely never someone from this forum? They would be caught out!
  9. Spectacular. Funny. Unique. Your ID may be Justasgood, but your presentation was better.
  10. Hey, Prof, thanks! Great minds think alike and fools never disagree. Very interesting. Since I have two 111s, I was thinking of putting that OEM Diver Strap I never use, and work out with that. In case something goes wrong, I won't feel devastated as I have two (well, that's the idea. I'm sure I would be fairly devastated). Hmm, I haven't read that thread very well! Let me check that out. I remember it well.
  11. That's a valid concern. Bicycling or motorcycling. FxrAndy of course, is a Harley enthusiast, and I wonder if he would say something about this? Do you wear your reps out with your Hog? Pugwash, as mentioned, loves his bicycles, doesn't he. I'm fairly sure I saw a wristcheck of him using one of his rep watches (the UPO, IIRC) wearing his gear. How about it Pug, which one do you use? Me, I used to rollerblade, and I have to do something about the stone in weight I have put on this year. I'm too young to be this out of shape. So next year, in one of those infamous New Year Resolutions, I am going back to blading/playing tennis/jogging, etc. which I used to do frequently before my recent family problems. Problem is, I used to wear my plastic Nike watches or sometimes a Swiss Army one, with velcro strap. Eh. I don't want to go back to that again, but I'm sure I can't wear my PAMs either. Hmm, don't know that one. Pics?
  12. RWG member Centurion went clubbing in London, and next thing you know, his lovely Pepsi GMT was all wonky. Now, we touched on this in that famous hunting thread, about how you can't shoot with chrono watches. It messes up the chronos. But isn't swimming also a fairly vigourous activity for such things as rep watches? Not the gentle paddle, but the breast-stroke, and other styles can't be easy on the mechanism. Sssurfer recently posted a photo of his PAM 050 along for a scuba dive, and people have mentioned how the uPOs are fairly hardy. Do you have any horror stories about taking your rep watches out for some "exercise"? E.g.: Do you wear them bicycling (I'm sure Pugwash does!)? Would you play tennis or golf with the non-speciality watches, like the Tiger Woods Tag Heuer? Which rep tool watches seem to be tougher than others?
  13. Centurion, a friendly tip since the video isn't showing up. You can't use the embed feature on Youtube here, but rather take the numbers/letters after the = sign, and then either write [ youtube ] and close it, or hit the handy button to the right which will do it for you. I too would love to see this!
  14. Wow! DET11, that photo is amazing! Let me make it my desktop wallpaper. UPDATE: Heh. Your fingers are 20" big. Hope that was okay, though. I realised you didn't release it as wallpaper, so just say the word, and I'll take it down!
  15. Whoa. She gay, huh? That is veddy interesting. Thanks, POTR!
  16. Okay, guys, please allow me to address a growing problem I have with some members. I'm a fairly frank person, and like to lay my cards out on the table so there's no doubt as to where I stand. Those of you who follow me around, posting annoying, picky little comments about me look really bad. You act like jilted lovers, or little chihuahuas snapping at the heels of passersby. You look really stupid, and very unmanly, I have to say regrettably. I could not in a million years conceive my father doing such a thing to anyone -- there is a level of maturity that is quite lacking, and I've had quite enough of it. So this is how it goes. I'm putting certain people in my "Ignore" list. You know why? Because life is too short to deal with malcontents, idiots, and the obsessed. I come here for fun. To add some spice to a hobby, same as the rest. I don't need this crap from anyone, just as assuredly as I don't treat anyone in this manner. I'm here for the watches and camaraderie. Full stop. Once again. You're about to disappear from my universe. You never really existed for me, and you will exist less now. You're a nil in my life. I never really addressed you before, but I surely will not address you from now on. So there we are. Hope we're crystal from hereonin. Thanks for your attention, guys.
  17. Hey Jake! Long time no see. As for HKTAN, he's dead slow, but his quality is said to be very good (some disagree, of course. I've only one of his straps). I think because he deals in exotics and very custom-made straps (more custom-made than others, which take time to cut), his backlog becomes quite large. He might be robbing Peter to pay Paul, moneywise, but as long as people don't mind the length of time, he'll keep on making the straps. Recently, he had a bad spate of publicity about the length of time on a gen forum, but as I alluded to above, it was due to some very serious family problems. I can relate...
  18. I did a mental calculation the other day. It was about 69. I've since bought 6 more, so that's ABOUT right. I'm actually a little embarrassed to count them all. (Remember, too I have bought for both my parents, friends, and boyfriend...so I count those) Dude, that's A LOT. I mean, no one can use me as a measuring stick. I'm way out there in Tanfo-land. 17 reps is an ungodly number for normal peeps. Congrats!! ...how many of those are automatics, and do you have a lot of winders? (Because ladies watches are often quartz, I don't have to bother so much about winding my watches like you chaps do)
  19. Would it be indiscrete to ask how many you have by now, LR? I just purchased my 75th...this doesn't include the gens we have, so you can imagine -- this is an incredible amount of watches/time spent. I am waiting for Christmas to get more winders. In the beginning, I was overwhelmed. Now, I have a rota, and don't polish the watches as I used to, for obvious lotion rash reasons. All and all, I am down to about 1 hour and a smidge spent on the watches per day. Not TOO bad.
  20. Stephane's recent answer to Sssurfer, about caring for his watches so much, that he wanted them to go to a good home since they got no personal time at all (heh), is a common occurence with watch hobbyists. So, a poll. How much total time do you spend on this watch addiction, per day, do you reckon? This can include buffing, changing straps, browsing sites for more watches, SOME modding, etc., BUT DOES NOT INCLUDE READING WATCH FORUMS.
  21. You got it! YAY! Why not. You only turn XX once. Many happy returns on the day, once again! TRIVIA FREEBIE: Born on November 15th Ed Asner Ol' Dirty Bastard Roberto Cavalli (LOL) Petula Clark (Cool!) Beverly D'Angelo Kevin Eubanks Felix Frankfurter W. Averell Harriman Mwai Kibaki Aleksander Kwasniewski Curtis LeMay Anni-Frid Lyngstad Sania Mirza Georgia O'Keeffe Erwin Rommel Claus von Stauffenberg (Erwin and Claus...double wow) Judge Wapner (LOL) Sam Waterston And died on 15 November? Booker T. Washington. One of my heroes. Prince of Wales turned 59 yesterday. His parents' Wedding Diamond Jubilee is in 5 days. Major hootenanny planned in the UK this weekend...
  22. There we go. A link to the mind and heart at last! I believe it was you, wasn't it, who mentioned This is England in a previous film thread. Either you or Fitmic. I am totally jealous! Actually, my boyfriend spends hours on forums similar to this, but their topic is home theatre construction. One night, we spoke over the phone for yonks, pouring over photos of people's theatres in the making -- from the foundations, the installation of the projectors, and speakers, to final decorative touches. It's our plan, should we marry, for him to build me one so we can invite friends over to watch movies, properly. We're going to call it the Coral Gables Odeon. Couldn't agree more. How did he find young master Turgoose?? Spectacular. On putting "007 automobile registration Roger Moore" as my search string, all I could find out was this: http://www.mi6.co.uk/sections/movies/lald_...lald&t=lald "The registration number on the back of Bond's wristwatch is 3266" Heh.
  23. Love it, UB7. "No, it's not the 808, it doesn't have nipples, it has dots." BIG TIME WIS. I'm getting hot and bothered! P.S.: So what watch is he wearing?
  24. Me too! Dang, I remember us having this conversation. Sorry. Don't worry, I noticed. I'm not one to point out the flaws when I'm complimentin'.
  25. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you FxrAndy's new strap range -- The Crazy Moose.
