  1. Better be careful. You might scare small children with those humongous crown guards!!
  2. Very nice. Where'd it come from?
  3. It's as real as a $2 bill.
  4. TWG has that same Asian 21J sub. FWIW
  5. It just occured to me that the VC Overseas genuine date font is rather similar to our replica Rolex font. Has anybody taken one for the team and obtained a 28xx Rolex datewheel to transplant into a VC Overseas gen 2? I don't know how the alignment will work out, but it seems intriguing. I've got a spare Rolex datewheel and a VC Overseas from Josh on it's way to me..... This could be interesting! Gen Overseas:
  6. But Silix's dial sports worse numerals. They're anemic compared to the gen. You really just want Silix's cross.
  7. White. I *need* a white dial watch. And the more I look at gen white/silver pics, the more I think the rep is pretty damn good. I'm also going to pick up an old dial and see what can be done in the way of a cross transplant. Then the only real inaccuracy of any consequence will be the date font, which I realize will probably never be solved. But, it's really not that bad on a watch without a date magnifier. And, besides, how many genuine VC Overseas have you ever seen walking around. Zero for me. Zero Overseas reps for that matter, too. Hehe. EDIT: On second thought, when I look at this pic of a gen, that font reminds me an AWFUL lot of the Rolex font and I just so happen to have a spare 2824 rolex date wheel. HRRMMMMM - I wonder if the date window location and size are a match!?!?
  8. So I stopped in a Rolex AD again today, and low and behold they actually had a black/SS sub in stock. So I spent some time playing with it. Wow, that thing just does NOT feel like a $4500 watch. Fine with me, though, because now I'm not the least bit tempted to shell out that kind of cash. All the while I'm inspecting this lightweight watch, the guy is staring at my 7753 196 old case too... Finally he says, the sub is going to feel flimsy compared to your "Pan er ray". To which I said "Yea, 'pan er eyes' are real anchors!". He then commented about how the top three popular watch makers right now in terms of resale were Panerai, Rolex, and Patek. So, as it turns out, he was probably one of the more informed AD sales droids I've encountered.
  9. I think the new numerals are better. Side by side with a gen, they're almost right on. The older ones were too thin. I couldn't hold out any longer, and have a gen 2 Overseas on its way to me from Joshua now....
  10. Hopefully these wheels are being made available to your fellow hobbyists!!! It sounds awesome.
  11. She's a looker!!! Yet another fine piece to be proud of which will bring you years of enjoyment.
  12. Yes! Please do!
  13. So Ubi, are you still using the 2846 or did you find a better alternative?
  14. Awesome collection.
  15. Aren't there are already accurate date wheels for the 16610 such as on the TWG sub. Or am I missing something?
  16. You can display full headers.
  17. What doesn't work? Hotmail doesn't conceal the originating IP.
  18. Have you gotten the IP address out of the headers of the hotmail email responses and tracked down his ISP? It should be a fairly simple matter to put the local Roseville PD in touch with his ISP and narrow things down fairly quickly.
  19. Nice crisp printing, the way it should be!!!
  20. Is it a simple task to remove the cross from a VC Overseas dial without damaging them (both the dial and the cross)? What's the best way to go about removing the cross? Thanks!
  21. Well that'll be taken care of after the fact. He doesn't provide it on the dial apparently.
  22. The crown, the crown guard, the hands, the AR coated crystal.... I'm digging it. A little SL on the dial and it's a beast!! Thoughts, comments, innermost desires before I pull the trigger?
  23. THAT is one of the original palp crowns?!? What was everyone complaining about!!!???
  24. Yes.
  25. Well, as long as you're asking, I've always found it AND the royal oak to both be hideous. The Nautilus is just blah to me and the Royal Oak is unrefined and blocky looking. Different strokes for different folks. The Overseas, though, is a cool looking watch IMO. It's bold, hip and unique without being flashy.
