  1. Can I be your friend? Seriously, great post and even better work. One of these days I gotta get me one of them millin' machines!
  2. It's not a Phong case there, is it??
  3. Vly babes... open up your PM.
  4. Another nice one, Marty!
  5. Depends. Do you want this look: Or this look:
  6. Looks like a usual service replacement insert. It should be fine if you prefer the non-vintage thin font look.
  7. The original TW Best sub (circa 1999) always looked small. The case was actually the right diameter, but the bezel accepted a slightly smaller diameter insert. Therefore to fit the gen insert, one had to slightly reduce its diameter first. Not even enough to cut in to the numbers or stick markers... so it sounds harmless and unnoticeable. But in reality it was. Somehow it just made the entire watch look smaller. Don't know if this is the problem with the BK TW of today... but perhaps it is.
  8. A deal and a half...
  9. So can I... but I can't make it reliably rattle-free on a V2. It's either too loose or too tight. Maybe V3 is a different story. Just curious what that story is. Edit: Now that I think about it, that was with a V1 (where the old rumor had gen bezel swapping foolproof). V2 - I wouldn't even attempt to get the rep bezel off without fear of marring the case. V3 - ??
  10. Haven't paid attention for a while, but what's the state of gen bezel swapping? Is there a reliable method for installing them tightly with full functionality? Last I checked, gen SA bezel fitment was imperfect at best.
  11. Looks normal to me. My 78390A also has a gap between the endlink and case that is one arm hair wide... but I don't magnify it 50x and worry about it.
  12. Agree in principle. Other thoughts, in a quick drive-by: In general, I don't like the move to maxi dials or maxi-like dials. I guess for this reason, I also never liked the current Daytona dial with the fatter hour markers (compared to the 16520). I think the Daytona can only go downhill from here. Sad. The Yachty II is truly a red-headed step child. GMT IIc - I like it in its own right, despite the big dial markers... But totally agree with you from a heritage standpoint. Perhaps they should have released it along side of a "classic line" GMT. Give peeps a choice, and then end of life one or the other based on sales. SSD - Heh... I don't object to it. But I have no personal interest in even the rep version of it. I owned a gen SD for a while, and got bored with it. This is less boring, but maybe too Casio G-Shockish. Sub with big lugs - baaaaad. Not mentioned - Datejust with wider lugs and non-tapered bracelet. Gotta say I like it. ROLEXROLEXROLEXROLEX Rehaut --- Horrendous.
  13. +1 The Yachtmaster, though.... whoa.

    Knives :)

That much was obvious. The question came from the fact that these are usually sold out everywhere, or on restricted sale...

Mind sharing from where you ordered it?
  16. Good stuff. Another forum I read has/had its own Jetmid of sorts. It's just hilarious how these situations all seem to go the same. Once these jokers start making outrageous claims, someone inevitably checks up on them and things come crashing down all around... In the case of this guy on the other forum, he was the CEO of his own political polling firm and had worked closely with GOP presidential candidates dating back to Reagan, lived an exclusive gated community in DC neighbored by powerful politicians, had three successful grown children and numerous grand children, had dabbled in standup comedy, had all sorts of connections with network television execs, etc. The truth: he worked at Home Depot, lived in a trailer with a car port on the outskirts of DC, only had one child who was attending the local community college and zero grand children, and liked to watch a lot of television. (And, no, I wasn't involved in the research that exposed him).
  17. Hehe.
  18. I actually like the black dial with contrasting white chapter ring a lot, but the domed crown has never been my cup of tea, and I don't care for the style of the bezel - not limited to the lume dot. The standard Breit bezel would improve the look of this thing IMO.
  19. Understood, but when a guy sells two of his favorite pieces - which couldn't have been easy, comes here to share his new "grail" with the forum, and you've got people (non-regulars) laughing at him like jackasses in his own thread, I don't see the humor. But maybe it just rubbed me the wrong way and slid right off Marty. Anyhoo... it is what it is. Carry on.
  20. Congrats, Marty. Don't know why some people have to be dicks. Cool gilt dial. And I like this classic config much more than the red triangle insert. Enjoy!
  21. The Boris Becker is . Any idea where to get the green strap for it?
  22. Ya, I've been looking at kettlebell exercises and I definitely want to give them a go after getting my ass back in to a little better shape first... Swings and snatches look like a good work out, and I'm sure that's just the tip of the iceberg.
  23. Cartier.
  24. LOL... Put together by Polex. BTW, not too bad a price on the dial and hands set. The center seconds hand is of the variety that will absolutely not take well to crimping, so get the gen pinion for that one for sure. I paid about $500 for the same dial with hands, of which only 1 hand turned out to be usable.
