  1. Wow. Mike Wood strikes again.
  2. Ya, the Day Date / Presidential is what I remember when I think of Miami Vice.
  3. That's about right if Rolex is doing the servicing, and replacing all those parts at cost. So not outrageous at all. Service alone with no parts is $600ish.
  4. What is the brand with the horseshoe on the butt pockets that is so popular right now? I much prefer the diesel pocket... Maybe I will pick up a pair. Do they have the baggier cuts? Those are the only I can wear.
  5. Calvin Klein loose fit here. And I know I'm behind the times... but I don't understand $200 jeans. Can someone explain the craze? B.
  6. Media mail should take one week from San Francisco to Miami.
  7. Let's see this prized possession of yours! Pics, pics, pics!!
  8. Navitimer for me. Classic styling. One of my favorites regardless of brand name... and yet have never owned one!
  9. It looks just as reflective as the V3 SA, with the difference being a different color reflection. Honestly, I think the V3 SA looks better because it reflects the same hue as the gen. Just my $0.02. The Breits are pretty close to gen in AR already, too. Not quite the same coating, but close.
  10. The only problem I see with the 3717 is the rep bracelet. I never realized how inferior mine was until I saw the gen.
  11. Ya doni, when you handle one and then the other the difference is striking. But, as I said, I think on the wrist it's going to be difficult for anyone to notice I think. Off the wrist... well that's a different story.
  12. Apparently considered by some of the top whiskey critics as one of the worlds great whiskeys.
  13. I paid $300ish as I recall. Gen dial only. No hands. Already have Zig-lumed hands.
  14. How is Redbreast Irish Whiskey? I've heard good things...
  15. Cheers, you old fart!
  16. They probably do. I also think my rep pro II was thinner than 3.7mm. But I had never measured. I'd have guess more like 2.7 mm, but could be wrong. Either way, I seriously doubt that on the wrist anyone in their right mind would ever notice. Glad to hear the rep bracelet is of good quality. They usually are not.
  17. I remember that dial from back when you first put it together. Why had it found its way back to your bench? Was something not working?
  18. Whoa. That does look special. Distilled in 1969. Hopefully you can have a taste or two. Next on my list when I return to this bar:
  19. I never touched my rep ProII other than to stick it in the envelop to ship.... The links on my gen Pro II are 4.35 mm thick, though. PS. I bet they just made all their ProII's the same thickness for reps.
  20. I actually wanted to try the Glenmorangie, as it was on the menu, but they were all out of it!
  21. In my opinion..... The SA rep Pro II is too thin and "dainty" compared to the gen. The skyland rep though looks like it might not have that problem. But the SA is a not only a dead giveaway, but just looks "wrong" even without making a comparison. I think I sold my rep pro II for $50 and then paid about $390 for my gen pro II for the SA... and I haven't looked back.
  22. Dashing!
  23. So I wound up at a scotch bar with a few friends last night. Now I'm not a really big scotch drinker, but this pub literally had a hundred varieties on the menu, so I took some recommendations and tried a few.... 1st up: Glengoyne 10yr. Very smooth. Oak flavor. Slight burn. Quite nice. 2nd up: Isle of Jura 16yr. Syrupy. Very fruity. Less burn. Didn't care for it. 3rd up: Glenkinchie 12 yr. Smooth. A bit spicy. Slight burn. Slightly preferred over the Glengoyne. Last up: Macallan Fine Oak 21 yr. I just had to see what $20 tasted like. And ... wow ... now I know. We're talking spicy honey. Has anyone else ever had this? Looks like $250/bottle, and I just think it might be worth it. Took a cab home and slept well. ;-) So for the scotch drinkers out there, what do you like and how do you describe it? I could get in to this.
