U and A cases do look different than the earlier production models. Most notably, they had the notches on the underside of the pushers, and the lugs turned down a bit more. And of course the CG shapes just varied all over the place.
One of my favorite pieces of all time with the nicest dial option ever! The whole thing is to die for. Glad you were able to pounce on that clean movement. Congrats and enjoy!

Gen midcase if and when you find one, will be pushing $2k. That's just the midcase.
I'd go with an older MBW case set over NDT. The MBW, while definitely not perfect, is a decent starting point. Hard to find these days. But I do think Greece George can still get them... as of 6 months ago he could anyhow.
