  1. Massive inflation is well under way here in the United States. And it will go hand in hand with a dollar devaluation. The monetary base has increased 70% year over year. That is inflation - an expansion in the money supply. But most of that has not yet hit circulation, which is why things still look deflationary. But that is only temporary; we're only at the tip of the iceberg. Dollars are going to be printed ad nauseam. Obama wants to put economic stimulus ahead of debt and is already proposing a worthless nearly $1T plan. The government has directly stated and shown that it will monetize anything and everything in an effort to stave off a depression, and buying worthless assets, giving money to banks, investment banks, car companies, mines, etc, etc. Where does it end? The moral hazard of bailing out car companies is that now they've essentially got to help other industries who might decide they're in dire need of billions. And the end result of all this printing - of all this turning of debt in to money - is going to be massive increases in goods prices. Commodities across the board are likely to see new highs. And this may not even happen until after wages have dropped during the deflationary bust, at which point they'll stagnate while capital goods prices skyrocket. The world economy is not "[censored]" in a real sense like the US economy is (and most/many parts of EU). All the productive capacity around the world which generated the wealth that was loaned to the US is still intact. Once US consumers can finally no longer consume, the standard of living in China and elsewhere will actually go UP. They'll be able to consume. Currently, China is effectively subsidizing their exports at the expense of Chinese consumers. But when the ever increasing cost of those subsidies reaches a certain level - whatever that level is - it simply will not be in their best interest to continue it. And, of course, the lending capacity of China is finite. They can absorb the loses they've incurred and move on, though. And while it'll be painful, in the long run, they'll be better off. Hyperinflation is not good for an economy no matter its positive effects on exports. Workers simply can't afford the goods they're selling in that scenario. Now, of course, the value of a currency never goes to literal zero. But what does happen is when it is seen heading inevitably in that direction, there is a massive run on the currency. It has happened to many world currencies, and it can happen to the dollar.
  2. It looks like it was made for your wrist Lani....
  3. They both drop ship. You might be better off buying a used one. I saw one on RG just today for $250. They come around here from time to time as well.
  4. I wouldn't. Rather than speculate, I'd simply get out of the dollar for good. Personally, when I look at what's out there with an eye on the macro situation, I really see once in a lifetime opportunities. But I don't have a crystal ball to predict the perfect moment in time nor any real interest to trade the dollar directly... But I do have the patience to wait it out in what I perceive to be a very good position and the stamina to get through the short term irrationality and volatility.
  5. Very nice!! Great looking T SWISS T, lume, and the CG pin is excellent! Enjoy!
  6. Pardon the off topic post... FGD - the 28A I've got lying around for a rainy day has 399/500 on the case back. FWIW.
  7. Looks fantastic, Dani... If you do decide to use a chieftang cyclops on this one, you'll also want to remove the internal lens over the date window to get the magnification correct. Not hard to do, just something to remember. Enjoy!!!
  8. Nice, R! The fit and finish of the case and bracelet sure does look great in the pics! Maybe now you'll revive your YM dial project? BTW, why did it take 7 months?
  9. Yes, exactly... And I highly doubt the refractive indexes are the same... Sapphire is quite high and also varies somewhat.
  10. The problem is we must remove the mag to do the coating. The sapphire glue won't hold up in the high heat of the AR chamber. So in this case, it's probably best to coat the whole thing, in which case the mag<->crystal interface is not in question.
  11. Yea, we're definitely missing an important piece of the puzzle and you guys might be on to something there. Anyhow, I did hear back from the AR lab owner. His comment was that relative to the uncoated surface the two mags are resting on in the photo, it looks like both mags are coated! But he says if we want to send any pieces we think are uncoated back to the lab for evaluation, he'll process them immediately. Basically they have a machine which will measure reflections off the surface and generate a graph across the entire spectrum, so we'll know definitively if there is an issue with the AR application on the magnifiers. Now, I do have one as of yet unclaimed piece here. And while I am now doubting the AR application being the problem, I think I'm going to send it in for eval just so we can put to rest the possibility of a coating issue. FYI !
  12. While the US Dollar is indeed headed for collapse, what happens then is anyone's guess. Civil unrest would not be far fetched at all, however. Amero? It has been talked about for years. We'll see. A currency can never become worthless, though? Tell that to the Zimbabweans. Now maybe it's not technically worthless, but when a loaf of bread costs over 1,600,000,000,000 (1.6T) Zimbabwe dollars, well then it's worthless to most everyone living in Zimbabwe now aint it!
  13. Drum roll.......... . . . . . .
  14. Welcome... it sounds like you're going to do just fine here.
  15. Oh come on... I know someone here remembers the ole slogan "For all you do, this Bud's for you"...
  16. Great write-up! This one's really growing on me....
  17. LOL It's kind of like Sprite with a beery aftertaste....
  18. Here, here! *raising a ... Budlight Lime*
  19. I like you already.
  20. You've arrived in rep watch heaven. Here you'll find more information than, uhhh... somewhere with tons of information. Anyhow, welcome. Before too long you'll have a couple Panerais. And I know you find that hard to believe right now. Curious comment, BTW.... Have you actually read through that much of the archives already, or ......
  21. Not the best photoshop job in the world but the logo is gone (don't worry, this guy is no watch expert - nor would he care about what we are doing anyhow I don't think), and I've explained the problem and have sent off that photo to the AR lab. I will hopefully get a response from them tomorrow.
  22. Woo hoo!! Mine spends a lot of time on my wrist... Enjoy!
  23. Mine looks pretty much like Jawo's... Mods are eqivalent, but I'm a fan of the SS bracelet. - V1 - Gen Swiss ETA with DWs - Double AR by me - Hour Markers Removed and Replaced with Superluminova
  24. Behold! A mainstream politician who seems to understand the debt crisis... Maybe he's acting a little too cavalier for my tastes, but it sure is refreshing nevertheless!
  25. Right. They're not telling us that the medicine is far worse than the disease. But thankfully we know this! You bet. Just make sure not to take profits in US Dollars... 2012 sounds about right... Don't forget to stock up on ammo too, though.
