  1. I did this and it worked quite well except the movement would not hand wind because the base 2824 I used was not in that great of shape even after a full clean and lube. I rebuilt the keyless works maybe 10 times and replaced all of the parts; isn't watchmaking fun!? I plan to revisit the project again soon.
  2. I put some gen end links on a Mary and it looks better, but it is rattle city!
  3. You dug up a 7 year old thread! My, how the prices have changed! The 361 end link is for a Tudor prince oysterdate.
  4. The last link where it meets the endink is incorrect though. She didn't send me endlinks. Mary left, yuki right
  5. Recipe: swiss 2824 soon to be a slow beat 2824 with all date parts removed bracelet from Yuki modded for 2mm bars WSO endlinks reshaped spring bars that were in that thread a while back whoopy dial HR hands with tapered second hand Both lumed by whoopy JMB MKII case polished by me Gen crown A decent bracelet is the tough part. The yuki bracelet is too thick and heavy, a gen 7536 is way too expensive, the Watch international one needs to be heavily modded. Gen is really the best option at $800+. Decent springbars make a huge difference
  6. My JMB/Whoopy 1016 says hi! I have a 2824 / 2846 hybrid in the works that is going to replace the 2824 in this one.
  7. I you can get a bracelet screws or a set on eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/201474917173
  8. Thank you so much @sputim, these are fantastic and make a huge difference.
  9. Thanks man! I love my 1016, but the ranger is so svelte, vintage looking, and incognito; which make it a joy to wear. 1655 homage with a vintage case set and tiger concept dial next!
  10. I have been working on this Ranger for quite some time and it is just about done. Such a simple watch can be such a pain in the culo! Here is the reference and here is mine. You would think that the minute hand would be easy, but it is not. It needs to be 11mm and have fat lume. The one I have on there is 12mm and the lume is a bit too fat. Ingredients: Gen case (74XXX), crystal and bracelet (7835 with 361B endlinks) Gen movement (tudor 2824) with date wheel from an older movement Gen 6mm crown Unlumed Raffles hour and second hand Clark? minute hand Yuki dial (date window is a bit wrong! and frustrating to get to work)
  11. This is a very fine specimen. What is interesting is that it looks like the lug holes are drilled out to accept fat bars; what do you think? Do 19mm fat bars exist? http://chronocentric.com/forums/chronotrader/index.cgi?page=1;md=read;id=60736
  12. Can't do the lighter trick on a plastic crystal!
  13. Very nice! Get a gen crown on there!
  14. That would be great if I have a 1002 case, but I do not; I have a 1500. Lumbee says the 1002 (5500) and the 1500 midcase is the same, but I don't think so. The 1500 takes a taller movement because of the date complication and crystals designed for a 5500 are too small.
  15. Not sure that is correct. I tried to fit the Tropic 11 GS crystal and several others W/O cyclop on the 1500 to no avail. The tropic 11 is too small.
  16. Thanks man! I picked it up. I have a yuki, you may remember, that I have been trying to get a non cyclop crystal to fit. I have since got a gen Tudor that I turned into a ranger, but it would be fun to build a non-date one too. I also found a post by you from a while back about turning a 1500 case into a 5500 by sanding the cyclop off.... I may also try that.
  17. Thanks Bill, but I am looking for the minute hand, not the second hand. The Yuki second hand is better than the one in the link.
