  1. My suggestion, return the watch.
  2. False. And that was proved. The accelaration of your arm/wrist move, give a shot of the energy to the rotor that will swirl even in zero gravity.
  3. Yup! ref here: http://bjsonline.com/watches/articles/0022_4.shtml but the new Deep Sea is far more, let see, "wearable"
  4. it was the rep of this model?
  5. Sinn 142, Lemania 5100 "1985 space flight that saw the Sinn 142 become the first automatic chronograph in space, at the hands of German Astronaut-Professor Reinhard Furrer" http://sinn142.fateback.com/index.html
  6. False. All rep watch sold with a Swiss mvt are genuine Swiss mvt NOT a Clone mvt. If you pay to have Swiss 2824-2, you will receive a gen Swiss mvt (well some had bad experience and receive Clone, but that is another thing). If you ask to receive a Clone 2824-2 you will pay for a Clone (that is less about $90 to $100).
  7. SSD (Rolex Super Sea Dweller ver 2)
  8. Z, I'll send you my Asian7750 21k mvt that I don't use (it come from my 3717 when it was replace by a GEN Swiss Valjoux7750), for all the help and great service you gave to me and contribution to us. You will be able to cannibalize it. You will be able to help one more member with it.
  9. 4: The hole side to release the stem is more square on Swiss than on Asian.
  10. I suppose you wanted to say -10sec/day instead of -10minutes a day, isn'it?
  11. it's not better here in Montr
  12. Yeah!!! Sell a box, at $300, and include in it a gift, what a nice trick Hope ebay will catch this.
  13. Car rust faster than a watch and finish in scrap yard Seriously, all depend on your priority in your life, and on what you want to put more mony than other thing in your life (I said thing, because they JUST thing, we don't need a $100k car, and we don't need a $10k watch to give time). For me, a car is just a mechanical engine to take me from point A to B. So a reliable, simple model will do. Somebody can say the same thing for watches, they use it just to give the time, so a quartz Timex at $10 is Ok. We can debat on this, and we still be there tomorrow, it's a personal choice. Period. To come back to the subject. I own gen, but I just don't have the money to buy all of them that I want (and not necessary NEED, you see the difference!), so I go with the other alternative, rep. A rep will NEVER be a gen. A rep is just an ILLEGAL copy, and to be honnest, I'm not conformable with that, but at the same time, some company, like Rolex, charge an enormous amount just for them legendary name. The problem with rep is, it's more easy to spend. And it's easy to be never happy with what you have but more with what you want, and be more happy by the purchase process. It's a chase of the happiness. You can be trap in a obsessive compulsive disorder patern. More difficult with gen.
  14. Just a gen section just to keep you here...this is what I understand? Useless comment, we don't need this
  15. +1... Gen forum, for me is WatchUseek, or TZ. For Rep, is HERE and it's the best in his categories
  16. "And you know this how???? OH thats right,.. If you are referring to the OLD CHS movements" Yes, I made reference to the old CHS (well if you assume that is the mvt in the new GMT is a new mvt and is DIFFERENT than the "old" one). And I don't see why now the mvt should be more reliable. Dealers would be very happy to announce to us that these "new" CHS are more relaible. Are they different? You or some can give us input? well, so I base my recommendation on what we know about this modified CHS mvt. "...those that did fail were repaired." Well, if they failed, they were NOT reliable, period. It's a fact. What I want to say is, why take a chance with a mvt that we know that was problematic. It's like the famous IWC portuguese sec@6, some took a chance with it (and I was pretty near to buy one too when they was available) some still running, but a lot stopped after one year and are now just paper rocks (but now we know there's a solution with graphite powder for the 7750 sec@6, etc. For me, a watch that I can't TRUST, it's just useless, a watch need to be 100% reliable all the time. For you, maybe, you can live with that. Not me.
  17. CHS mvt is a time bomb mvt due to the modif that was made on it, not reliable and prone to fail, but, it looks like the gen.
  18. I think we take too much importance to have a rep with a ETA mvt instead of the Asian one. I was catch too in my last purschase. I bought the GMT II with the ASIAN, but I bought the SSD with the Swiss mvt. I could be happy too with the ASIAN mv, but I go with the Swiss one, and I regret it little bit. If the Asian is reliable like the Swiss mvt, there's no reason to go with the Swiss one. A rep watch is a rep watch, why have a rep case, and not the rep mvt? A Rep with a swiss mvt give more "gen" spirit to it? humm... question that I ask myself...
  19. Why you just don't try the ASIAN version, under $200, it's a real bargain IMHO for this kind of quality rep.
  20. I suggest for who participate to mention the model, for stats purpose Asian or Swiss. If Swiss, CHS (correct hand stack) or IHS (incorrect hand stack). I'm curious too see if the Asian mvt has more problem than the Swiss one.
  21. For now, in my collection, is this one, but next week, it will probably be the GMT II
  22. The rep is pretty fat, this a gen photos, and it look little less thick (16mm): hXXps://www.bernardwatch.com/watch/TAGCAV511A.FC6225
  23. Hey! Is it the boy friend of this lady ?
  24. hummm. ... I admit, this one look pretty good... do I will go on the dark side too enventually?
