  1. I don't see what is wrong wearing reps esp with sporty watches like panerais (besides the radiomir line) to the gym. I could care less if it wacks into the weights I am lifting. It is just a rep. I mean some of you proclaimed that if you lose/destroyed your reps, you wouldn't be heartbroken 'cos it is just a rep. I just don't understand why some of you are so protective of them in the gym. The only absurd situation I think of at this moment is if you wear a gen patek for a brutal gut-wrenching workout and then proceed to flex your forearm for a wrist shot pose in front of everybody.
  2. Nice pic!! I always worked out with my 196 and sometimes my Arktos. The 196 especially since it is my fav. beater watch. I only use rubber straps during workouts. Leather straps is a no-no for me. Hoping to wear it for my half-marathon later this year...
  3. 187 (boooring..) again... with my Arai
  4. hhaah cheers azjgav. Cant wait to see more of your work!
  5. Farren Price was granted Panerai authorized dealership about a month and a half ago and they had a celebration re-opening (or something along those lines) - many Paneristis turned up from all over Australia for the event. I was supposed to go but was held back. Being a new dealership, I doubt Panerais will get discounted, at least not for a while. Rolexes get about 10% discounts - as I was told. 50% discount sounds like a lot! I would be there for it.. Some photos I took from Farren Price - Sydney (sorry for the huge pics )
  6. Only 2? Last week I was there they had 005I for $5K and 111I for $5.7K and the ones u mentioned. Too ex for these two imo. Saw a 112I in Farren Price @ Sydney. What a beauty. It was going for $5.2K Aussie prices for watches are insane. If you are not a regular, don't expect much discount and for PAMs, they seldom do discount at all.... unless u are a regular regular. Well, I am a irregular irregular. haaha
  7. Be wary. When something is too good to be true, it probably is. Face to face transaction as some mentioned, is the way to go. Best of luck!
  8. ... have to please the missus
  9. I bought one a while ago, the diamonds were misaligned and was replaced. But my replacement has been lost in the mail for over 2 months!!!! ARGHHH. Trying to resolve this at this moment and it IS frustrating.
  10. Just came from Sydney and it seems like quite a few people are well versed with Panerais. Was there to close a deal and the fella pulled out a 202. Very light watch. I had a feel of it and I thought it was too light for its badass look. Had a few people who mistook my 187 for the 202. Sydney is a wicked place, nice place to view watches... shopping... good eats.
  11. haha for sure! How much do you charge?
  12. haha yes, the waitresses were impressed:" Nice collection of watches, what are they?" lol That WM Vintage there, I got it a couple months back. Havent got the chance to wear it.... sometime, maybe. The plexiglass makes me think twice cos I can be clumsy with watches. We should def. do another more well-planned GTG. azjgav, you should fly over here. Heading over to Sydney tomorrow and will be checking out Farren Price and Hourglass and see what's up over there. Anyone from Sydney? I'll be there thurs, fri and leaving Sat afternoon. Also, in 2 weeks time, heading back to Singapore. Trying and hook up a GTG there. Too bad Joshua wont be around that time...
  13. These pics are awesome. So envious!
  14. Well, swdivad and I chatted a couple of times via PM and finally we managed to arrange a last minute get-together just a few hrs ago. Through a miscommunication on my part, I arrived at the venue to know that I was at the wrong place and finally arrived about 20mins late to see swdivad at the table sipping a bottle of corona. Walking through the Mexican restaurant, I immeditely noticed swdivad's gen PAM091 gleaming on his wrist. What a brilliant watch. The anthracite dial is just amazing. The AR coating together with the dial reflects off different shades of purplish colour which is totally mesmerising. We went on to have some nachos and some beer to go along with the watches. I brought a bunch of mine and swdivad brought his. I got to his see PAM212 and his tantalum strap. AMAZING. I compared the weight of his 212 to mine and there is quite a significant difference. His swiss 212 was heavier then mine, and his dial and relume looks awesome. Finepics did a wicked job on that. We chatted for quite a bit about watches, straps, HKTAN, the forum, the dealers, his ongoing watch projects, etc. It was a wicked mini-GTG. Wished sennsi could join us but he had other committments.... ah well. Another time for sure. I wanna thank swdivad for the Europelli strap, I wish I offer him something but my straps are very limited (not too big on collecting straps...YET.) and some of them are crappy. Ah well. Next time for sure. 187 maybe? hehe Enough of blabbering, here are some pics to go with it. I apologise for my poor photography skills as well as the poor lighting. swdivad's Corona and my VB with PAM24 hanging on for dear life. Cant see sh*t, so here comes the flash...... damn, too bright!! wooohoooo... watches... table-full! Another shot ...and another.... ....some of the many straps that swdivad owns... w/ a genuine Rolex case box!! .... some of swdivad's collection.... ...another pic of it.. Some wrist shot with the collection of watches on the table... me: PAM196 with Metta strap; swdivad: the 187. Now with flash..... at least we can see them much clearer... But too damn bright! swdivad: You can kill somebody with this watch.... I agree The Gens: PAM091 & PAM187 Trying hard to capture the essence of the 091 dial... it looks wayyyyy better real life!! Look at that crown!! *wipes mouth* Gen. 187.. erm... no wait.. this is the rep.... erm... issit? Sh*t, I am confused. What is this one again? My WM Vintage.... 5218/201A with PAM091 5218/201A again...... Well, it was an awesome GTG. We'll definitely do one together again. Maybe Ken can join us. We should have a bigger one next time if anyone in Melbourne is up for it. It was awesome chatting up with swdivad.... till next time.
  15. Looks awesome!! We should meet up sometime, finally got time off... I'll drop u a line soon.
  16. This is an absolutely wonderful piece!!
  17. Haha.. yes. At that time, I wasn't prepared to pay that kind of price for the buckle alone. Short time after, I seized the opportunity to make a bigger purchase, and was willing to pay more than just the buckle ....
  18. The metta takes the cake followed closely by the malboro imo. I see that you are selling the CK strap on ebay.
  19. I like it. Josh, could u confirm that the PAM250l has recessed subdials?
  20. How is the quality of this piece? I wanted to get this as well but somehow holding me back...
  21. RXW Marina Militare (Rant below... to skip it scroll straight down ) I got this immaculate MM20 from Ken's Trading quite a while ago. It has been a safe-queen eversince. A few days ago, I decided to let go of this piece to a better home. And so I took the pics and listed on ebay. On the ebay page, I listed the title as 'Brand new RXW Marine Militare Panerai 1950'. About a day up, ebay decided to remove my listing because I had misrepresented my item due to the word 'Panerai' on it. I wasn't intending to pass it off as Panerai, c'mon now. I have described it clearly on my page as well as linking the Ken's website for a better description and history of this watch. Yes, I do know the Panerai vs Ken Trading lawsuit. The reason I listed the title as such is because someone else has done it before me and have had absolutely no listing problems, etc. I originally wanted to add the word 'like Panerai' but not enough space on the title line - apparently I am not allowed to do that as well. Just my luck. Some of you might know how pain the ass it is to list an item up using html (Might be only me cos I hate doing html [censored] ). Anyway, I spent about two and a half hours taking pics, uploading them, and drafting up the html, correcting it, etc and without warning my listing was removed. Everything was gone. I do not even have time to save my html. I believe I should at the very least deserve a warning before hand so that I can save the htmls before they removed it. Ah whatever. I am not going to indulge another 2.5 hrs listing this up again so I decided not to sell this piece off anytime soon and hence shall resume being a safe-queen for a while longer. Since I have taken the pics and have no use for them at the moment, so I gather it would be better off listing up here for all to enjoy (the watch, not the pics.. quite badly taken in fact). Sorry that this has turn out into a rant. Without further ado.... RXW Marina Militare...
  22. sevomd, I have a WM watch similar to yours which I got through a dealer on here. Wicked vintage touch to the dial but my movement is nowhere close to yours. Of course, I would take yours over mine any day. Who wouldn't? Wear it well. This is one hell of a timepiece that many would love to own. I'll take a photo of mine when my Panerai display stand arrives. I have Ken's MM20 as well. Safe queen, still in plastic wrap in the wooden box. Looked at it once in a while and that's about it. A sitting duck collecting dust. Too bad I am not showing the watch the attention and appreciation it deserves.
  23. Went to the panerai site, and I am stunned dammit. I want this WATCH. It just looks too damn good for my own good.
