  1. This is my newly acquired California Dial 1938A which I picked up brand new in Singapore. About 44mm equiped with Swiss Unitas 6497, 3.5mm domed sapphire glass, 2 x italian calf leather, screwdriver... blah blah blah.... comes in a nice Pre-V wooden box which I thought was very cool. The box somehow influenced me to make this purchase. I just love admiring it, but somehow does not smile back at me on the wrist. But I still love it. Thought I'd share....
  2. Holy Molly. That is one MASSIVE crown.
  3. I thought Paul Frank is our friend. That is what those cute chicks at some clothing store told me. Erm.. yeah. Davidsen is without a doubt, our beloved friend.
  4. I haven't tried mine to be honest to say whether it is uncomfortable or not. But that rubber strap feels damn comfortable. I don't always feel comfortable with rubbers, they can be very suffocating ...
  5. If u are the same [censored] that scammed me at ebay with that crappy 'ceramic' pink diamonds j12, then screw you. :) If not, my bad.
  6. Looks fantastic. What are the dimensions of this watch, if u dun mind....
  7. It sure looks smashing good on her wrist.
  8. Oh awesome watch! Does anyone know who is still selling these? EL has ran out of stock. Need one bad. Sorry to hijack your thread.
  9. Jebus. How perfect can it get? It is "perfect", not perfect. haha.... It is hysterical to see pple posting as if they are getting ripped off by the dealers.
  10. There used to be a time when I told myself that I would never spend that insane amount of money on a genuine watch when I can get a replica for a fraction of the cost. But as I move along, I began to explore the brands I like. I began to look more in depth about the history, the story behind the watchmaking phenomenon. Over time, I realised there is more to it than just an object that tells time. There is a whole lot more to it. As I read more and more, I began to adopt a whole new appreciation for watches, ironically including the reps I had. Among the reps I have, I have a top few which I really love and one day decided to buy the gens. The experience opened up a whole new horizon for me.... and I love it. Overpriced? Maybe. To me, I am buying more than the watch itself and I am willing to invest on that. The thing I love about buying watches is watching my taste evolve over time with the newly added timepieces. Plus, I tend to educate myself more before buying a gen. whereas with reps, I simply just click and pay...sometimes w/o thinking twice (happening too often I must say). Do I still buy reps? You bet. Buying reps is a good opportunity for me to try watches. And if I like it a whole lot, I would def. be investing on a gen. I still wear some of my reps as often as I wear my gens and love them as much as my gens.
  11. Warren, you have very nice pieces! I dig the 196 & 188. Good to see the submersible where it belongs.
  12. Looks very impressive! Nice display as well!
  13. Damn! *trips & fall diving face first between her... -----*
  14. My deepest condolences. I was supposed to be in London 2 days before the attack for a self guided tour round the city for a week. Due to a sudden change of events, I had to fly back home. When I heard the news, I was shocked, appalled. I just could not believe what I have seen on the television, the things I have read on the papers. Those who lost their lives during the unfateful day will not be forgotten. Once again, my deepest condolences to Michaela Otto and those whose lives were abruptly taken away by the cowardly act of the so-called terrorists.
  15. This is indeed a very very fine watch. I am contemplating between the black and blue.... driving me up the wall!!
  16. Interesting...... hmmm....
  17. I am in!!! Gorgeous pics..... yummayyyy....
  18. ^^^ haha so true! Back to the bezel issue, watchhonpo's bezels are also not aligned. One of my 187 is, the other two isn't.
  19. I love the XaMas! I still cant justify paying so much for a strap.... I am just waiting to jump on a good deal. *taps feet*
  20. After browsing through the threads for the past few days, I must say I'm glad to read the positive reviews of the new 187, esp with a new Asian 7750 version. Disappointed to say that my 187s from Ken had let me down again and again with the chronos problems and all in all, I was fairly disappointed because the exterior built of this watch is so impressive but the movement never quite made the mark. Not to mention that I have paid quite a hefty sum for these. As for EL's 187, besides the obvious differences pointed out by several members, one distinct difference I can see is the construction of the bezel markers. They seemed more rounded around the edges in ELs whereas on Ken's, they are more well 'cut' around the edges. There is a also minor difference in the CG as well, on the internal border where it houses the crown. The border should have a '>' shape (less steep of course). I don't have Ken's 187 with me at the moment but I have my gen with me so this is as much as I can observe. Good to see that the 187 has finally resurfaced. Now, we just have to wait for a 7753.
  21. I am going with black strap on PVD. Looks sooo badass. Good to see your project turned out well.
  22. I'm in Singapore at the moment. Tons of pams over here. Is kenneth @ Collectors Haven the seller?
