Hi,
Yes it's on the outside. I'm a bit unsure about removing all the AR as i'm not sure how the glass will look afterwards. Is there a way of telling if there is AR on the inside?
Following a 'boating accident' I ended up with a marked glass on the front of my 005 . The glass itself doesn't appear to be scratched (it shouldn't be being sapphire) rather the AR coating. See below:
Are the marks removable?
At least the accident proved it's waterproof
Ta for any help.
I've had an EL full size Moon watch for over a year. I'ts been serviced by The Zigmeister and the 6 o'clock subbial has been frozen. It's probably my favourite watch and one I'd never get rid of.
My Dad was/is a big watch fan and I received my first 'real' one (not quartz or digital) when I was 16 a manual Sekonda (no Swiss Made on the dial but USSR!) that lasted me through the years, it's still around in the bottom of a draw and when I remember to wind it it still works fine.
When I got my first job earning decent money I bought myself an Accurist quatz diver watch which although nice to look at had no 'soul'.
A friend bought a gen Rolex GMT and complained that rep watches were almost indistinguishable, that piqued my interest. A few weeks internet surfing brough t me to the original RWG and TRC and the rest is history.
One more PAM to go and then I think I'll rationalise my collection to 4-5 real keepers.
Nice, I got the 42mm black bezel with orange numbers from PT. It's getting a lot of wrist time. I was after a PO from Gen1 but bided my time, it was hard going
Over at TRC Eddie has posted piccies of his new 111 and 183 PAMs!
Must resist 111, must resist 111, must resist...
They appear to have Swiss 6497s in them and aren't the problem CN/Swiss/??? movements The Zigmeister has reviewed *phew*
Cheers,
The Speedy is a class watch, the chronos work, although I had the 6 o'clock subdial frozen. I got mine from Eddie Lee a year ago, I think PT based in the UK has them too. Go for it, it's a class watch.
No unfortunately not, his is like the other Moonwatches with the clear display back (which is a gen model), I just fancy buying a gen solid caseback to give mine a different look.
Hi By-Tor, thanks for the complement! Someone else killed the subdial and almost killed the watch
However the Ziggmeister resurrected her and with a full serivce she should be good for years! (I'm actually wearing it as I type.)
I'm afraid this one is a definite keeper for me, as it was my first rep and has a lot of sentimental attachment.
I'm actually considering adding a gen caseback to it from:

However, I think PT is still offering them.
p.s. I really enjoy your watch reviews and best Omega links cheers
Finally the IWCs and Jaeger
The Portuguese (a bit of a fantasy watch to be honest) and the Master Control were not from any of our dealers, the FA Jones was from EL.
Next the Omegas:
The Moonwatch is from EL and has been serviced by The Zigmeister, the SMP and PO are both from PT. I aligned the bezel on the SMP myself.
As promised here's some rough and ready pics of my collection.
First the PAMs:
The 005 was from EL and the 183 from PT both were superlumed and had the short pin fixed by Finepics. The 196 from PT has the steel/titanium bracelet from EL
