I took a couple of watches with me to Australia & Hong Kong, one on wrist and one in carry-on this year. I wasn't stopped.
I think the only issue you could have if stopped is being tapped for taxes unless you could prove you had them before you went.
Do you have any 'papers' for them, or take a photo of them on today's newspaper?
It can be a bit fiddly to wind the crown with the lug guards and pushers, I use my thumb nail and index finger tip. keep winding until you can't do it anymore - 40+ turns from dead. You won't damage it unless you use pliars!
By the way, good choice
As Kenberg said, it depends on the watch. Used to have a SS/Ti bracelet for my 196, sold it (and the watch), prefer PAMs on straps. Omegas look great on both
42mm PO 4th gen, replaced my SMP which eventually got flipped - didn't see that coming! I think the skeleton hands on the SMP was the deal breaker (great watch though it is).
@By-Tor, nice Speedy, good choice mate. As you know I liked the rep so much I bought the gen!
I think the biggest disappointment was the IWC FA Jones. I loved the pictures when I saw it - the perfect dress watch, with the steeled hands. However when I got it it just didn't do it for me. My 183 felt more substantial and I just can't get away with white faced dials, sorry... I flipped it to someone who hopefully appreciates it more than me!
I completely agree about Greg Straps. I've got a Crazy Horse 24x24 and a Historic Brown Vintage Length 26x26 on the way. If you can afford them get them
I bought my Speedmaster from an AD. I want a warranty if I'm going to spend £1k+ on a watch!!! The watch was bought for a very special reason and isn't going to be sold therefore depreciation is not an issue.
However that didn't stop me negotiating a 20% discount..!
That's exactly what I've done, except I'm not getting a new crystal as EL's is sapphire and I'm not that much of a WIS to notice if it's 0.5mm too thin
A very rough and ready group shot:
From L-R
PT 42mm PO on Hirsch
Josh PAM 111 (Lume & plume by PT)
Gen Omega Speedmaster
EL PAM 183 (lume & plume by PT)

To come:
EL Finest Fiddy with PT for more of his magic
My small but perfectly formed collection, thanks for looking!
Yes it is. I bought the one offered via his page on this site, rather than via his website. I've posted a couple of pics of it on a leather strap on the Omega photo page.
