Also- I just picked up a vintage GP with a 36K "HF" (high frequency) 39 jewel gyromatic movement... cheap, cheap money (I got lucky) but even still, they're reasonably priced for what they are (in house movement, etc)
Thanks all!
The weather has been absolutely insane in Boston these last few days... It's either 30 degrees and snowing or 65 degrees and sunny...generally in the space of a few hours!
I'd personally err on the side of caution if you decide you love the watch and want to keep it for a long time and have it serviced within 9 months of receiving it but I've personally never had problems with the newer A7750 movement and I don't keep rep watches long enough for me to actually service them.
MM and DNRG: Thanks guys! Hope to meet you IRL some day...I'm sure we'd have many laughs over a pint! I'll be in the city (Boston) tomorrow until around 5 and I can go in Thursday or Friday if anyone wants to grab a quick lunch!
I mean...if your bracelet screws and holes / pins- whatever are way out of alignment or obvious...yeah..but that's really not the case with reps you purchase from most of our trusted dealers...
Aww thanks guys!! Lots of Gin in me at the moment (for my MA people- I was at the Met Club and then at Pepperoncinis in Framingham which is an awesome bar!! I love the regular RWG crew and it's great to see members like Demsey back along with all the RWG regulars! Here's to another great year of collecting !!
I agree that C is not where most people wanna be right now...I'm currently up about 36% on it and will be playing the short term on it... not planning on holding it for too long...some people are of the opinion that it could hit $5 by the year's end but I'll play it somewhat more conservatively and just eat the capital gains tax...
